Good morning from Bristol.
Had a weird day yesterday. The family, although they always eat together, keep very odd hours. Having been trained byDH to keep to a strict timetable, mostly so as to watch theTV news, I’m finding it hard.
We did little yesterday morning as it was raining a lot. The house is set on the side of a hill(cliff?) we can watch the weather coming in across Bristol . The views are stunning.
Iris had a friend for the afternoon and her family joined us for a snack before going to a Son et Lumiere at the cathedral. They came back here for a hotdog and fireworks. I was very cold despite it being fairly mild. I get cold easily these days.
Today is DD’s big day, her formal installation at her new parish by the Bishop.
Enjoy your day, hope pain, sorrow and anxiety are banished for a little. Carpe diem. 🦩🦩🦩❤️

Good morning from s somerset and it is going to be a mixed weather type of day with heavy rain clouds and maybe a bit of sun

Your threads are very gentle Mick, very nice reads and like being in a boat gently bobbing on the ocean, bathed in sunlight

Up at 5 and made a slow cooker stew, which started cooking at 5.30, prepped yesterday. Not much shin and a lot of veg, all for ready meals for the freezer, maybe 55g of meat per meal.

I shall have another nice pottering day today, this and that.

Good morning from Essex by the sea. It's still dark but due to rain for most of the day.
I'm dropping DH off at the rugby club at 8. There is a big festival today, shame about the weather. There will be lots of muddy wet and cold children later.
I am driving to DD2'S house in Kent. We are going by train, to London later. We will have a meal then watch DGD1 dance at the Shaftesbury Theatre.
Have a lovely Sunday everyone xx

Good morning Mick and all who follow.
I woke freezing cold with a cold so feeling sorry for myself.
I've just advanced the heating.
It says it's 8°C.
Quaker meeting this morning and our art exhibition opening this afternoon. I hope some of my DC and DGC will come but I have to admit I was reluctant to go to DM choral performances. It's 14 years today since she died but I still miss her.
Cinema tonight if I'm still awake.

That's exciting for DD gMattie
I'll be back to read your messages.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a rather murky South Yorkshire. Karmalady your comments about Mick’s thread were spot on and brought a smile to my face. I couldn’t start my day without him.
Yesterday morning, before I came home from DD’s we had a walk to a local deli to buy some of their delicious cannoli, and she spotted a poster for a model railway exhibition in the local church hall. “Do you want to go?” she asked, appealing immediately to my inner nerd! We were the only ladies there and among a lot of earnest men, and I think they thought we’d wandered in looking for Knit and Natter, but I have always been a model railway fan and had no trouble getting into conversation about the finer points. DD just stood back and let me get on with it, though she was equally fascinated by the detailed track side scenery. When we told SiL where we had been he thought it was hilarious!
Today I am going out to buy some new shoes, and do a bit of food shopping.
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s just getting light and looks dry
Wishing your DD all the very best for her big day gMattie you must be so very proud of her
We’re off later today to Glasgow, staying overnight and then a flight to Alicante tomorrow. We’re doing a bit of travelling around Spain checking out the sights and different culture. I much prefer travelling abroad at this time of year when it’s much cooler and less crowded so will see how it goes!
Sounds like a lovely day Sar53 enjoy London and seeing your DGD dance - so special
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

No Matt, I think he must be on holiday.

Good morning everyone from sunny Málaga. It’s warm already and Himself just suggested we go on the beach later! We were on the paseo yesterday looking out at it and were surprised how many folk were on it, sun loungers and straw hat parasols still for hire. I’d have to dig out a cossie from a click box as I’d packed them away for the winter but on the plus side, whichever one I choose certainly won’t be as snug! And I have just loaded a novel onto my Kindle ...

Enjoy Sunday all who can. A red letter day indeed for your daughter grandMattie I hope the occasion goes well. Your dear husband would have been very proud of her achievement.

Happy Holiday to you brook if you get chance to sign in before you fly out.

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s damp outside.
I agree with Greyduster on your comments about Micks thread * Karmalady*.

I too like a model railway Greyduster. We went to a lovely one in Kent a few years ago.

I had a long pottering day yesterday sorting and chucking. How many holey socks did I need to keep! All in the bin now and as for tights and knee highs 😩 On with a bit more of it today and possible a few craft things.

Enjoy your roasts 🦩🍃🍂

Pittcity Sun 06-Nov-22 07:33:49

Good morning from a dark, rainy Colchester. Two littlest grandsons ran us ragged at the fireworks last night. We all came back very damp and I am a bit achy this morning. An easy Sunday with leftovers to eat.
Love to all 🦩 x

Urmstongran Sun 06-Nov-22 07:34:59

X posts brook!

Gingster Sun 06-Nov-22 07:35:01

Good morning all and it’s grey out there.

Karma what a beautiful post re Mick. ❤️.
We too are cutting back on meat and increasing the veg . 👍.
Healthier and cheaper.

GM congrats to your Dd. How lovely for you to be there!

Sar enjoy your time with your family. How wonderful to see your gd dancing at Shaftesbury theatre. Safe and trouble-free journey. 🤞.

We had little gd yesterday and as usual she was a delight. Baking and craft . We’d collected colourful autumn leaves and she made beautiful collages and pictures of animals. So clever ! Biased me!??? 🤣..

Today there is a craft exhibition at the local Mill Hall. If it’s not pouring I might walk up and have a mosey and a nosey!

Gammon and roasties and lots of veg for lunch. Apple crumble for after.

Enjoy your day all who can and best wishes to all the poorlies and worried. ❤️

Gingster Sun 06-Nov-22 07:35:50

Clever craft with autumn leaves

Gwenisgreat1 Sun 06-Nov-22 07:39:51

Good morning all from Harrogate, can’t see the weather, too much condensation on the window. Did very little yesterday, slept very little last night. Will watch church online this morning otherwise I would doze off and the church pews are not comfortable!!
Glad you got to Bristol GrandMattie your DDs house sounds in a lovely position.
Have invited my SIL to stay this week, but haven’t heard if or when she’s coming, so she might just turn up. It makes it difficult planning the week.
Hope Ash is making good progress.
Have the best day possible folks

GrannyGravy13 Sun 06-Nov-22 07:47:29

Morning all

Safe journey Brook , enjoy the beach Urmstongran are the Chiringuitas (sp) still open?

Sar53 how exciting for your GD, making special memories for you all.

grandMattie a very special day for your DD you must be so proud.

The GS’s are asleep probably will not rise till nearly noon, I think they like the quiet here and their own rooms (DS and DiL are having the first of two big extensions built so the boys are camping downstairs at home, nearly finished though.

We might go out for Sunday Lunch after we have taken them home, maybe to the Hotel overlooking the sea close to Sar for a change, but I guess we will end up in our local restaurant 🤣

Have your best Sunday folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Grandmadinosaur Sun 06-Nov-22 07:50:48

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. It’s grey and damp.

DH and I had another quiet day yesterday. I am feeling better but we are both feeling a bit washed out. I persuaded him to go to the city centre and look in TKMaxx. I have come up with the idea of doing a little C grotto in the little corner of the garden near the kitchen. For the GC of course! Just need to design and put into practice. At the branch in Leeds I saw a snowman that would make an ideal centrepiece but they didn’t have it at the store here. I did buy something not sure what you would call it. It will go on the hanging basket bracket and I will decorate with holly and lights. It’s quite big and was amazed it only cost £9.99. I kept saying to DH if I’d bought it in a garden centre it would have been about four times that price. We also bought a couple of C presents. We are starting to run out of hiding places. Not only do we have C but both GC have birthdays in the next 2 months.
In the afternoon we both had naps.

Your holiday sounds lovely Brook and I’m with you on travelling out of season. In the days when you could get really cheap flights we often used to travel in November. Had mostly good weather too. Safe travels.

You must be very proud of your DD GM

Today I’d like to do some more sorting of summer clothes and winter ones that seem to have shrunk since last winter. Mm don’t know how that happens!

Take care everyone.

Urmstongran Sun 06-Nov-22 07:53:23

Yes they are GG13! We sat at one yesterday afternoon on the decking and shared a bottle of rosé and some tapas, looking out at the Mediterranean. We might have fish skewers and salad in one today mid afternoon.

Good morning all from a grey North Leicestershire.

DH is taking me out for a drive today - first time out of the house since 8th September. The excitement.

Have the best day possible.

dragonfly46 Sun 06-Nov-22 07:54:34

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.

Hoping it stays dry today as I want to change the beds.
Still got doggy but his parents are flying back from the US as we speak.

How proud of your DD you must be Mattie. I know what you mean about timing though. I find my AC live in a time warp.

Sar exciting seeing your DGD dancing on the London stage.

Morning Mick, morning All from a soggy corner of Somerset. Goodness did it rain yesterday.

Did little yesterday as I felt odd, nauseous and dizzy. See how today unfolds. Feel fine sat in bed.

A big day ahead for your daughter grandmattie. I’m sure you’re very proud. Happy shoe shopping greyd. I’d love a day on a warm, sunny beach urms. Safe travels brook. Just slightly envy here.

Hope Sunday is kind to us all.

BlueBalou Sun 06-Nov-22 07:57:40

Good morning everyone, it’s a damp start here in Wiltshire.
A nothing-in -particular day today here other than DDog walks.
I will restart knitting a pair of socks, I don’t like the toe in the pattern I am using, so that will be a good reason to listen to an audiobook or podcast.
I hope everyone’s day goes well x

ginny Sun 06-Nov-22 07:58:40

Good morning.
Nothing special planned but may go down to watch the fireworks later with DD3 and family. Depends on the weather.
Ironing, housework craft may be on the agenda or I’d the sun makes an appearance, some tidying up the garden.
Happy travels for those who are or will be away. Just a week now until we are off on holiday.
Healing vibes for those troubled or Ill.
May today be a good day for all .

Wyllow3 Sun 06-Nov-22 07:59:11

Morning from a grey S Yorks.

All are right - it wouldn't be the same without the Mick daily opening.

I adore model railways too Greyduster although I admit I'm more interested in how good the landscaping is than the technicalities of the "kit".

Now that beach idea sounds tophole Urmston

GMcongrats for DD - quite something.

Yesterday was to tired to do much so got into a murder mystery and it kept me up late (tho did indulge in the scandi-noir on BeeB 4 as per). As did the twits who decided midnight was just right for fireworks.

Today is Quakers and the gym.

Best days, all.

Oopsadaisy1 Sun 06-Nov-22 08:00:59

Good morning from a wet Oxfordshire, not much happening today, MrOops is out to breakfast with some mates and I prepped the veg for our roast last night, we won’t have it until this evening.
Nephew is coming over and will stay the night, let’s hope it goes better than the last time he came over and stomped off home. Sigh.
You never know what you will get until he walks in the door, but he isn’t coping on his own so is here every other day and MissOops constantly texts him during the day to make sure he eats and is looking after himself whilst she is with us.
Anyway, we will see what the day brings, no sunshine though - again!
Have a good day everyone especially those who are staying away from home and hugs for those who aren’t so chipper today.

Gingster Sun 06-Nov-22 08:03:52

GG you’ll be lucky to get in for Sunday lunch at ‘that’ hotel .
I’ve always had to book weeks in advance. It’s the best though!
Let us know if you do get a slot! 🤞👍
