Pratts Bottom in Kent

Tickle in Doncaster.
I believe it is really Tick Hill which isn’t an improvement, reminds me of Nitshill in Glasgow.

Tickhill is in S.Yorkshire, I used to live just down the road.

The funniest place name I have seen was Wankdorf in Germany, our boys spotted it first on a road trip, apparently people keep stealing the signs😬.

The Mayor of Wetwang is Look North's weatherman, Paul Hudson. He often gets teased about it by Peter Levy the presenter.

There was a Titty Bottle Lane in the town I grew up in in Lancashir.e

I can't imagine telling someone your address and not wanting to laugh every time.

It reminds me of Frank Spencer and Sodbury road.

Cockermouth in Cumbria, Quaking Houses in County Durham, and a housing estate near me has a street named Greendyke Close.

On a holiday in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland, abbreviation VD, we drove through a village called La Cure VD

And my husband told me that the local police station in a fenland village was in a,road called Pig Lane.

There is a road in my town called Creasen Butt Close. Apparently Creasen Butt was a local councillor. What a name to be lumbered with!

There is a village in France called Condom

Would it put anyone off buying a property in these places or roads?

Where I was brought up, the villages round us were, Stair, Moscow, Straiton and Girdle Toll

Did the Pendle witches realise that they named it thrice? Pendle Hill. Pen=hill Dell=hill . hill= hill. I prefer " Friendly "in Yorkshire

“Rest and be thankful”, not amusing really but the inscription on the bench at the top of a very steep hill,

There is a road up near the gold fields in Victoria called Titwobble Lane. The mind boggles !

My husband can say that Welsh place name correctly, a feat in itself. We have a village near us called Willey, I believe the village name sign is often stolen.

Not a village but an extremely cute road name near Cropredy.

You mean Llanfair­pwllgwyngyll­gogery­chwyrn­drobwll­llan­tysilio­gogo­goch? I can say that as I'm half Welsh and was determined to learn it. Here is the correct pronunciation and the meaning too.

I'm from Canada but owned a business which took us to Pennsylvania, u.s.a. many strange names in that state. Blue balls, virginville, intercourse, panic, etc. Check it out. You'll get several chuckles.

My first serious boyfriend lived in Pratts Bottom.....
