I seem to remember one particular name causing a lot of hilarity when I was a child - IIRC Wyre Piddle, in Dorset (?] or somewhere else SW. There were other Piddles nearby IIRC but Wyre was our favourite.

We have a Mount Buggery and a Foul Bay. Also Yorkeys Knob ( a lovely place in Queensland ) Break Wind Reserve and Bullshit Hill ( truly - it is in South Australia) Too much imagination or not enough, I’m not sure.

Some great place names there, there’s a Cock Valley up in Derbyshire and I remember passing through a place called Fusty-weed in Norfolk some years ago.

Just checked on Wiki. Only Augusta lived there apparently - although I seem to remember it differently from reading a biography of Ada Lovelace.

The Wiki entry is tiny, but the two snippets I know about it are included!

My cousin used to live near us in Fingringhoe.
The road markings abbreviated it to F'inghoe!!!

Just over the border in Wales is a mountain called Twmpa. The English name is Lord Hereford's Knob. 😳

There is a New Invention in Walsall too

Six Mile Bottom was the next village but one or two to where my mother used to live. The name comes from its distance from the starting point of Newmarket races back in the day. Also it is where Lord Byron lived with his sister Augusta if I remember correctly.

In Shropshire there is a little hamlet called New Invention. I've driven through it many times and would love to know how it got that name.

In Worcestershire we have Wyre Piddle and North Piddle. Don't know if there's a south, east or west Piddle but a now defunct local brewery used to brew an ale called Piddle in the Hole.

We moved to a new area when my children were still at school. One of the roads was called Polly Barnes Close and another was named Jeffries Hill Bottom. The first time my son walked home from school on his own, he said he went up Polly Barnes Bottom! Yikes!

There's a village outside Maidstone in Kent called Loose. A friend of mine took pride in being a Loose woman.
