Good morning everyone from what was a very blustery night. I’m not in the best of good health this morning possibly due to getting covid and flu injections yesterday hope I’m up to visiting himself today he got a couple of stents in his. Kidneys to try get rid of the blockages in his urethra not due to any cancer cells which might still be lurking around. Fingers crossed the infection goes . Thank you to the gns who care and continually support me I’m so impressed by your loyalty.keep well thinking of those who have poor health and those who might be hungry due to their limited income. Take care
As Gala says, it’s dry and breezy here in Sefton as I bid you good morning. I have yet to read other posts.
A swim and visit to the theatre will occupy me today.
Whatever your plans, enjoy Friday.
🌸
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 14° and blustery. Marydoll I think I would have been tempted to go to bed and stay there after your difficult day! Never mind, today is a new day. Urms I foresee much swearing from your other half! Kalu I hope you hear good news from your husband's consultant.
Yesterday was a quietly busy day. I tidied away overtly Halloween stuff and managed to get rid of various paint spots which have been annoying me for ages. Then I washed all the floors so the house smelled of rhubarb floor cleaner and not turpentine. I messaged a couple of friends in the afternoon, just to keep in touch, and was glad I had as one in particular has been quite low in spirits this week.
Today I'll go to the local garden centre as it has a range of lovely hand creams etc. I want to buy something for my friend who is unwell and I'll visit her later if she's able. Other than that, I have no plans. I've pulled out cross stitch Christmas cards which I started last year, so I'll probably try to finish them off for this year. Have a good day all.
Good morning all.
What a day you had Marydoll . You can do without all that ‘excitement’. Try to have an easy day.☺️.
Glad you’re recover us going well Ash and your little one is back to his normal cheeky self.
Safe and trouble free journey home Urms. Enjoy the rest of your book. I’ve put it in my Christmas list!
The doc wanted DD to go to hospital as she has a hacking cough and her breathing is bad, but she said ‘it’s only a cold’. Let’s hope she’s right 🙏. The whole family have had it but of course she is immuno suppressed with the cancer and treatments. Oh dear! 😥.
We will meet our Friday friends today for lunch. We’ve been doing this now for 50 years. Before lockdown it was always Friday evenings but now we enjoy the lunchtime catch-ups and don’t have to go out on dark chilly nights. Old friends - so special!
DH ‘fixed’ the heating by turning a dial, 😅. The plumber must have put it on low when he serviced it. DH is so proud! 🎖.
Enjoy the day, everyone! ❤️
Good morning from a bright, dry Colchester. Another mild day.
Got loads of washing dry outside yesterday so there's ironing to do.
We'll wander to the City centre to observe the 2 minute silence at 11am and probably do a bit of shopping.
The garden also needs a bit of a clear up.
Dark at 4pm means a long evening of TV or internet.
Love to all 🦩 x
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it is blowing a hoolie.
All the apples have fallen now so I'll need to get them juiced or donated or both.
I'm still feeling rubbish from lack of sleep from coughing despite industrial strength linctus.
Marydoll your day was pretty bad. Did the chemist find the missing drugs or is that for the next episode?
Sorry to laugh, but like the Matt cartoon, what else is left!
At least the handbag was retrieved.
My day looks fairly blank but keeping a watchful eye on my Helpers before any more of my precious possessions junk is thrown on the firepit.
My DS and family are in the air returning to NZ today so I am thinking of them too
There's been a hurricane warning so a stop in Fiji is scheduled.
Special thoughts for all those going through troubles
Good morning all, high cloud in S Hampshire, Armistice Day, I will attend the small ceremony in the village.
M&S to collect a few ordered items, undoubtably other bits will be purchased, it’s a food hall, so full of festive goodies. Tesco delivering later.
Safe journey back Urms.
Have your best day all🦩🦩.
Good morning all from a dull but dry Black country.
Heating sorted well 🤞 the engineer bought a new part with him and hopefully that solves the problem.
Well I had a pleasant surprise yesterday I took delivery of a complete gaming package which included Nintendo switch, headphones, a curved gaming monitor and a game, my DS and grandsons are delighted because they will be going their way. I have another parcel arriving today which is a large beanbag to complete the win along with £50 greggs voucher. My hobby is competitions and they don't always inform of the win so when things arrive it's like Christmas.
Marydoll I hope you have a quieter more relaxed day.
Safe trip Urms and anybody else on the move.
Enjoy your Friday everyone and may you all find some 🌞.
Good morning from a dull but mild and dry Black Country. No need for heating!
Such a lovely day yesterday, meeting an old school friend who I hadn't seen since 1969! She picked me up from the station and took me to her house, where she had prepared lunch. We chatted and chatted until 3pm when I needed to get the train back. Had so much to catch up on, but it was like those 50 odd years had melted away.
Today I am meeting friends in Birmingham for coffee. Seems everything comes at once.
Safe journey back Urms seems train strikes are spreading all over!
What a day Marydoll I hope you can have an easy and relaxing day to today. Easier said than done I know.
Best wishes to your DH Multicoloured I hope he gets through this and his home soon
Wow monk how lovely! Do you play the lottery
Good morning from a dry, windy NE.
Went for an early meal in a local pub last night to celebrate my friends 75 birthday. Walking home we found plants lying in the road that had been pulled from the tubs that decorate our small community. This is the second time in a week this has happened. Our community has a proud record of success in Britain in Bloom so it is upsetting that some people are spoiling things.
A friend and I went to Chatsworth Christmas markets in December 2018 the temperature was hovering around freezing and it was foggy. The mulled wine was most acceptable 😀. Would love to go back again.
Hoping all with troubles get some relief. I’m in awe of those who post so positively in the midst of health problems.
Have a good day every one.
Goodness, monk, you must be both lucky and clever! How lovely to have such a surprise.
Am waiting for the smart meter man “any time after 8.00”. As I had a virtually sleepless night I am not exactly sparkling but will be glad when the job is done.
Sorry Marydoll had such an infuriating day yesterday- she really doesn’t need such aggravation. Hope things improve for Mrmulticolour and that the day is without drama for the rest of us.
Having read GM, I had a look at the rest of the site. Whilst we welcome new posters, I am somewhat wary of threads started by people whose names don’t appear on a search. It’s also noticeable how often spam is being reported.
MN had a significant problem with trolls last night.
Good morning all from a fairly quiet North Leicestershire.
DH is off to the gym this morning and our cleaner is due.
Dd2 and co are arriving this pm as the annual Street Fair is on in town and all 5 of our children (and their families) meet up for a nostalgic visit.
Dd being here means that DH is relieved of cooking duties.
Have the best day possible everyone.
A late good morning from me in Alicante, we slept in late after a really enjoyable day yesterday
Chatsworth house is lovely grandmabatty, enjoy the Christmas market there. I’ve never been to it but saw it on the TV a couple of years ago, it looked magical
Safe travels Urms hope it’s a nice easy journey
Hope you have a much better day marydoll but you’re definitely not a stupid old biddy please never say that again !!
It’s raining here this morning but still very warm. We’re off to find a Spanish breakfast soon and then a museum or two!
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Brook it's not me going to Chatsworth! I would like to though😃
Brook disfrutas tu desuyano (I think)
Good morning everyone, it’s a grey start here in Wiltshire. DDog and I had a lovely walk around a local field, not too muddy underfoot but the footpaths do get boggy in places.
She’s had her breakfast, I’m having a coffee then some ironing to do and a grocery shop coming mid morning.
DH is off on the bus to town so a quiet day, hooray! Snacks for lunch as don’t have to cook.
Hope the day goes well for you all x
Good morning Mick and everyone from bright and currently sunny Carlisle where the wind seems to have dropped a bit.
It was noisily windy last evening with some vicious gusts and after one particularly bad one we lost power for a microsecond. Off went the tv and stayed off, had to switch it all on again. The first time in years that's happened. It used to be quite frequent down on the west coast where it's a lot windier than here.
My dentist visit yesterday was successful in that she put the crown back in, but warned me it would be the last time. Next time it would be either a new crown after root canal treatment or a denture.
There's nothing I feel I have to do today so I shall see what turns up. There's quite a long list of little jobs I could do if the mood takes me....
I can well believe the state you were in after losing the handbag Marydoll. How lucky you were it was found by someone honest.
Have a pleasant day all.
Oh sorry grandmabatty I meant grandmadinosaur!!
I don’t think I’m fully awake yet - this relaxed lifestyle is catching up with me. Your Spanish is very good, I’m taking you with me next time 😀
Marydoll was a kerfuffle!
Our GP practice emails any prescription request if I attend the surgery, to the independent pharmacy next door to where we live. Instant service, much appreciated. Surely any distance ‘in miles’ doesn’t matter with today’s technology?
If it were me, I’d go into the chemist nearest to you for your convenience and discuss this ridiculous situation with them. Honestly Boots & your surgery don’t seem ‘compatible’ or efficient in any way!
Good morning all from a sunny W Kent. Off shopping for the weekend when we should have visitors. Will read posts later.
Best wishes to all
Good morning from an unseasonably warm Co Armagh!
I had to kick off the duvet last night , I hate warm damp weather , my Gran used to say we needed a good hard frost before Christmas to kill the Mollygrubs !
Good morning all from a blustery Angus coast. There are ominous-looking clouds over the hills which have changed my mind about washing the bedding today.
Goodness Marydoll - what a chapter of accidents! It's strange how so many things happen at once. They say things happen in threes, so I'm hoping that in my case two punctures and a lost hall key constitute my three. I turned up at the hall for my tai chi class later than usual (because I had been ready too early so found something else to do before I left which then made me late) only to find that the hall key isn't where I always put it in a cubby hole in my car! When the other key holder turned up, she didn't have hers with her either so had to rush back home for it so in the end we were a good half hour late getting into the hall. By that time everyone had decided it was time for a coffee break! They were all so kind about my stupidity (the key still hasn't turned up) and very appreciative of last Monday's workshop (and when's the next one?!). We eventually did two sets of tai chi and - very importantly! - decided to go out for a Christmas lunch on December 15th, after the last class of the year, so it became a reasonably productive morning in spite of the inauspicious start
No adventures planned for today!
Safe journey home Urms and good luck to Mr Urms with the blind-hanging. Glad you're enjoying your holiday Brook. I'm also thinking of all of you with with health worries, particularly on behalf of loved ones. Glad to hear your recuperation is going to plan Ash. Multi I hope you manage to visit your DH this afternoon.
Everyone have the best day you can - and oh, I have Chatsworth envy!
