Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry here in brackley this morning .
Today my usual trip to Bicester to have a glance around street market .
I also have a holiday issue to sort out as well , plus I want to get some housework done later.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from an as yet dark E Kent.
I was still very tired yesterday and yawned through my spa class, we were only 4 as several students were away. We were doing reported speech. It is very complicated and I really didn’t get it. Fortunately, with the homework and a repeat lesson next week, I might “get” it.
DL has been worrying that the house purchase won’t happen on time and she would be homeless. I keep reassuring her. Anyway, everyone has signed all the paperwork, it is in the solicitors’ hands…. All is well.
My hairdresser seems to have gone AWOL so I need to find one today before I look like the witch of Endor. Short hair requires a lot more attention that longer.. not much else. Nice to be quiet for a bit.
Have a contends. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a very windy Hull.
Up early due to needing to take my Grandson to school. My Son asked if I would take him today.
We aren’t having him after school so we are going to have a ride over to junction 32 to the outlet so DH can get some new fitness clothes. I’m sure I will be tempted while there. We really need to start Christmas shopping but are a bit clueless. We’ll get there. We always do in the end.

Wishing everyone a good day and hoping those with illness and worries have some respite today🌻🌻

karmalady Fri 11-Nov-22 06:24:15

Good morning from what appears to be a nice day ahead

The car is done, four jobs that the dealership said should be done, my first time ever not at the dealership and I was so pleased at the result, 1 mile from home and not a 36 mile round trip, no fancy waiting room, just a very good job at less than half the cost and walking distance to home

A bit of car paperwork sorting today, to keep my essentials file in good order and later I will be out in the air, one way or another

Good morning all from very blustery South Lanarkshire.

I’ve been awake since 3.45, haven’t been able to drop off again and will be like a wet rag later at work.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

nanna8 Fri 11-Nov-22 06:31:31

It’s been a wet day here in Melbourne but quite warm after a couple of ripper days with the sun shining all day. The garden was ready to be watered so it saved me the trouble. Off to a concert at my granddaughter’s school this evening. She is a dancer and has done the choreography for it and is very keen , lots of practice. She is normally very quiet but on stage- different girl.

mumofmadboys Fri 11-Nov-22 06:37:33

Good morning all. I also woke at 5 am and couldn't get back to sleep. My DH is away this weekend so I will have more time to myself than usual. May start writing a few Christmas cards. Since I retired I like to start early and do a few at a time. Makes the task so much more enjoyable. Our UA guests have been with us for 6 months now. We are busy trying to help them find a rental property in the area.It is difficult as the Lake District is expensive to rent. Hope everyone has the best day they can.

Good morning from a mild and dry Torbay.

Thank you for your kind concern for DGS3, now recovering at home and obviously feeling better because he’s “eating, chatty and cheeky” again, according to my DS! Sometimes “cheeky” is very welcome!

I thought you folk would be as fascinated as I was by the soap flowers (pictured yesterday), which I received from the ex-partner of my DS, who also created a beautiful crocheted blanket for me on Mothering Sunday in 2020, which some of you might remember. Such a kind-hearted young woman.

Yesterday, the Practice Nurse who removed the last few stitches was most encouraging about my progress so far, which lifted us both. I was inspired to come home and make a snack of toast and pâté. I would never have expected how satisfying it would be to accomplish small tasks in recovery, within limitations!

Look after yourself, grandMattie, now it’s looking more hopeful of DL's moving. I’m a great believer in the “small garages”, karmalady. I believe they can stamp your service booklet, too, for records for future owners. An EU law, possibly.

Your GD’s show sounds wonderful, nanna8! I’ll bet you’ll be so proud of her. Good luck with the flat hunting, mumofmadboys.

Happy weekend, everyone! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Morning all from a still dark West Oxfordshire. It is the second week of my online V&A course on Interiors this morning. One lecture on French interiors and the other on Italian interiors. That will take up the whole morning. Then I really should start thinking about Christmas: check if I need any cards, make some present lists etc., maybe start planning a menu. Have a good day everyone.

Grandmadinosaur Fri 11-Nov-22 07:01:29

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. I too was woken about 5.30 due to the windy weather and couldn’t get back to sleep.

Today I am going to the Christmas market at Chatsworth house with DS and DIL. We discovered this little gem about 7 years ago and obviously haven’t been since Covid hit. So really looking forward to it. Such a beautiful setting and a pleasant day out. Also I’ll be back in the county of my birth 😀 DH is doing school pick up for GS as we don’t usually arrive home till about 5 ish.

Enjoy your shopping Shazza

Glad to hear your news that all is well with your GS and you continue to make good progress yourself Ash

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone from a still dark dry Northampton. Washed the towels last night; they are now having a short time in the tumble dryer to softer them up, then I'll put them outside to finish off. Disappointingly my washing didn't get very dry after being left out all day yesterday, so had to finish off indoors on the clothes airer.

Up earlier again this morning as I have a hairdressers appointment at 9am, cut, colour and highlights. I quite fancy a bit of red in my hair, but will see what my stylist says. Then I'll get the bus to the shops, have a coffee and snack and do a small top-up shop. I fancy a steak for tomorrow night's dinner, and I do like to choose my own rather than order one in the weekly shop. A curry is thawing in the fridge for tonight.

Glad to hear your recovery is progressing well Ash; baby steps and all that.
GrandMattie make sure you get some rest.

Have a good Friday everyone.

Beechnut Fri 11-Nov-22 07:13:21

Good Morning everyone from Severnside.

Here we are again with Friday. I think this past week has whizzed by.

My local garage stamp my book Ash. I usually leave it on the passenger seat and the one time I forgot they left a card which I stapled into my book.

I didn’t get my crafting done yesterday. I binge watched the rest of The Crown instead so I shall have to do that later. First of all my weekly shop needs to be done.

All the best to you all 🦩🍃🍂

Gala Fri 11-Nov-22 07:14:40

Good morning all. Still dark here in Sefton. It seems to be dry & breezy & feels very mild.
Feeling much better after my lazy duvet day yesterday & good night's sleep. Dance exercise class followed by Pilates this morning. A bit of food shopping for the weekend this afternoon.

Wishing everyone a peaceful weekend.

BlueSapphire Fri 11-Nov-22 07:15:57

Grandmadinosaur I went to Chatsworth Christmas markets last year; had a tour of the house decorated for Christmas then spent a pleasant time browsing the market shops. It was lovely, especially the mulled wine!

Grandmadinosaur Fri 11-Nov-22 07:21:57

Thank you bluesapphire I agree it’s a lovely day out. We couldn’t go last year due to DILs difficult pregnancy she couldn’t travel and it was close to her date. We love sampling all the food and like you having festive drinks.

Kalu Fri 11-Nov-22 07:28:23

Good morning all from a very blustery morning in Glasgow.
I have been awake since 5.00 listening to a howling wind which always makes me restless. We have an appointment with DH’s consultant at 11.00 for a routine check up, just hope the foggy brain clears before then.

13yr old GD requested a sleepover at ours tonight, just her, which we were all looking forward to but she has another bout of tonsillitis and we will have to arrange another date.

Hope a pleasant day is ahead for all.

annsixty Fri 11-Nov-22 07:29:23

Good morning all from Stockport.
Chatsworth envy here Grandmadinosaur
Derbyshire is also the county of my birth and my first 30 years.
We were booked to go to Chatsworth last year but that weekend was atrocious weather and we couldn’t go and this year my mobility is not good enough to walk round.

Have a lovely day.
To everyone have the best day you can.

Marydoll Fri 11-Nov-22 07:29:53

Good morning all from a very blustery Glasgow. DH is golfing, I think he is mad!!

My day yesterday got worse as it went on.
The pharmacy had no record of the remaining balance of my prescription, even implying that they had never received it from the surgery in the first place. Feeling very annoyed, I plonked myself on a seat and said I would wait until they sorted it, because it was my heart medication and was running out!

Once I explained that I had received some of the items over a week ago, but they had run out of stock of the others, because they had a new delivery driver, who was useless (the assistant's words), there was much whispering among them.
I know I keep complaining about them, but they are the only pharmacy within miles of my GP surgery and some distance from my home, so they don't deliver.
I don't have much choice.

Then I got to the surgery, only to find I had got the time wrong, I was half an hour early! DH was not amused.
However, the phlebotomist, who knows me well, came out and said she would do it, to save me waiting. I was so relieved and grateful.

Off we trotted to Asda, where unfortunately I left my handbag in the trolley and only realised it was missing, when we had left the car park and I asked DH, who had emptied the trolley, if he had put it in the boot. 😱
DH was fuming and I was in a terrible state.
Of course it wasn't there when we got back. The security guard had no information and I eventually tracked it down to customer services, where I got a right talking too!
I was in a state to say the least, my heart was pounding against my chest. 💔
The gentleman, who handed it in was still there, so I was able to give him a reward.
I have indeed become a stupid, old biddy. ☹

The final straw was when, doing some parish admin, my laminator ate the poster, I had made. I sent DH a link for a new one, because he has Prime. He got it wrong! 😭

The only piece of reasonably good new was I phoned the gastro secretary, (they are only available in the afternoons!) where my biopsies were done. Her poor ears must have been hurting, as I fired off all the failings, especially the fact that my RA medicine had been suspended, since June, because of all my ongoing stomach problems.
She was most sympathetic and said she hoped to get someone to phone me today.

I think I may have to type the parish bulletin today, since the PP's vision is still impaired, surely I can't get into much trouble doing that. Apart from that, my biggest worry is what to cook for dinner! 😁
Today, I will probably see the husband of my friend, who is gravely ill, I'm dreading it.

Baubles, I hope your day improves.
I will go back to read your posts properly. I will be back later. Nice to see Nanna posting.

Have a good day folks. Sorry for such a downbeat post.

Urmstongran Fri 11-Nov-22 07:30:09

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from a gorgeously sunny Málaga. 😎We’ve had a grand month out here but today we are Homeward Bound. A neighbour has offered to run us up to the airport at 2pm as there is a Renfe railstrike today. We are flying courtesy of Mr O’Leary and, allowing for the hour back when we land, we should be in our apartment by 8:30pm, which is quite civilised.

The bedroom and bathroom have been painted while we were away so Himself will have to put the wooden blinds back up at the bedroom window first thing. They are heavy. Says it should only take him about twenty minutes ...
😁

ginny Fri 11-Nov-22 07:32:41

Good morning sunshine everyone from a breezy but dry N. Bucks.
Hairdressers this morning and then a manicure. Lunch wit two friends.
This afternoon I have a phone call to make and will then be making sure all loose ends of jobs and messages are tied up before we go away.
Pleased Ash and her DGS are on the mend.
Hope today is good to all.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 11-Nov-22 07:33:17

Morning all

Haven’t opened the curtains so not sure of the weather.

I really enjoyed the champagne afternoon tea to celebrate my friends 60th, lots of chatter and laughter, both excellent medicine

I am off to the gym first thing this morning, then back to pick up The Imp from Nursery. I think we may go out for an Indian meal this evening.

Have your best day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Greyduster Fri 11-Nov-22 07:38:00

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where the sun is coming up at the front of the house and the moon is still up in the back. Going to be a dry day I think. I got cabin fever yesterday waiting in for meter men and phone calls from the surgery. I’m going out today, into town, on the tram. My car is sulking. It’s only been out three times since I bought it. Good to hear that you’re feeling better day by day Ash.
Have the best day you can folks.

cornergran Fri 11-Nov-22 07:41:03

Morning Mick, morning All. It’s mild and blustery out there

Enjoyed yesterday outing. Eyes on stalks like a two year old looking at the beautiful Christmas display. A bit of a drive today to Cirencester, a small town we love. Then across to see our Littlest and his Mum before heading home.

Oh heck, marydoll. Take it easy today.

Take care everyone. Hope Friday is kind to us all.

Oopsadaisy1 Fri 11-Nov-22 07:41:41

Good morning from a blustery Oxfordshire, dry though fingers crossed it stays that way.
MissOops went to the hospital yesterday and has had some more steristrips put onto her knee and a swap taken just in case, so she is good to go home later today, then I can start to sort the bedrooms out and give it all a good clean.
Hope everyone who is poorly starts to see some improvement and that the sun shines on us today. Safe trip home Urms
