Good morning from a dull but mild and dry Black Country. No need for heating!

Such a lovely day yesterday, meeting an old school friend who I hadn't seen since 1969! She picked me up from the station and took me to her house, where she had prepared lunch. We chatted and chatted until 3pm when I needed to get the train back. Had so much to catch up on, but it was like those 50 odd years had melted away.

Today I am meeting friends in Birmingham for coffee. Seems everything comes at once.

Safe journey back Urms seems train strikes are spreading all over!

What a day Marydoll I hope you can have an easy and relaxing day to today. Easier said than done I know.

Best wishes to your DH Multicoloured I hope he gets through this and his home soon

Good morning all from a dull but dry Black country.
Heating sorted well 🤞 the engineer bought a new part with him and hopefully that solves the problem.
Well I had a pleasant surprise yesterday I took delivery of a complete gaming package which included Nintendo switch, headphones, a curved gaming monitor and a game, my DS and grandsons are delighted because they will be going their way. I have another parcel arriving today which is a large beanbag to complete the win along with £50 greggs voucher. My hobby is competitions and they don't always inform of the win so when things arrive it's like Christmas.
Marydoll I hope you have a quieter more relaxed day.
Safe trip Urms and anybody else on the move.
Enjoy your Friday everyone and may you all find some 🌞.

Good morning all, high cloud in S Hampshire, Armistice Day, I will attend the small ceremony in the village.
M&S to collect a few ordered items, undoubtably other bits will be purchased, it’s a food hall, so full of festive goodies. Tesco delivering later.
Safe journey back Urms.
Have your best day all🦩🦩.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it is blowing a hoolie.
All the apples have fallen now so I'll need to get them juiced or donated or both.

I'm still feeling rubbish from lack of sleep from coughing despite industrial strength linctus.

Marydoll your day was pretty bad. Did the chemist find the missing drugs or is that for the next episode?grin
Sorry to laugh, but like the Matt cartoon, what else is left!
At least the handbag was retrieved.
My day looks fairly blank but keeping a watchful eye on my Helpers before any more of my precious possessions junk is thrown on the firepit.
My DS and family are in the air returning to NZ today so I am thinking of them too
There's been a hurricane warning so a stop in Fiji is scheduled.
Special thoughts for all those going through troubles

Pittcity Fri 11-Nov-22 08:02:14

Good morning from a bright, dry Colchester. Another mild day.
Got loads of washing dry outside yesterday so there's ironing to do.
We'll wander to the City centre to observe the 2 minute silence at 11am and probably do a bit of shopping.
The garden also needs a bit of a clear up.
Dark at 4pm means a long evening of TV or internet.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning all.
What a day you had Marydoll . You can do without all that ‘excitement’. Try to have an easy day.☺️.

Glad you’re recover us going well Ash and your little one is back to his normal cheeky self.

Safe and trouble free journey home Urms. Enjoy the rest of your book. I’ve put it in my Christmas list!

The doc wanted DD to go to hospital as she has a hacking cough and her breathing is bad, but she said ‘it’s only a cold’. Let’s hope she’s right 🙏. The whole family have had it but of course she is immuno suppressed with the cancer and treatments. Oh dear! 😥.

We will meet our Friday friends today for lunch. We’ve been doing this now for 50 years. Before lockdown it was always Friday evenings but now we enjoy the lunchtime catch-ups and don’t have to go out on dark chilly nights. Old friends - so special!

DH ‘fixed’ the heating by turning a dial, 😅. The plumber must have put it on low when he serviced it. DH is so proud! 🎖.

Enjoy the day, everyone! ❤️

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 14° and blustery. Marydoll I think I would have been tempted to go to bed and stay there after your difficult day! Never mind, today is a new day. Urms I foresee much swearing from your other half! Kalu I hope you hear good news from your husband's consultant.
Yesterday was a quietly busy day. I tidied away overtly Halloween stuff and managed to get rid of various paint spots which have been annoying me for ages. Then I washed all the floors so the house smelled of rhubarb floor cleaner and not turpentine. I messaged a couple of friends in the afternoon, just to keep in touch, and was glad I had as one in particular has been quite low in spirits this week.
Today I'll go to the local garden centre as it has a range of lovely hand creams etc. I want to buy something for my friend who is unwell and I'll visit her later if she's able. Other than that, I have no plans. I've pulled out cross stitch Christmas cards which I started last year, so I'll probably try to finish them off for this year. Have a good day all.

Nannagarra Fri 11-Nov-22 07:53:09

As Gala says, it’s dry and breezy here in Sefton as I bid you good morning. I have yet to read other posts.
A swim and visit to the theatre will occupy me today.
Whatever your plans, enjoy Friday.
🌸

Good morning everyone from what was a very blustery night. I’m not in the best of good health this morning possibly due to getting covid and flu injections yesterday hope I’m up to visiting himself today he got a couple of stents in his. Kidneys to try get rid of the blockages in his urethra not due to any cancer cells which might still be lurking around. Fingers crossed the infection goes . Thank you to the gns who care and continually support me I’m so impressed by your loyalty.keep well thinking of those who have poor health and those who might be hungry due to their limited income. Take care

Oopsadaisy1 Fri 11-Nov-22 07:42:23

Swab not swap, although if that had been suggested pre op she might have preferred it!

Oopsadaisy1 Fri 11-Nov-22 07:41:41

Good morning from a blustery Oxfordshire, dry though fingers crossed it stays that way.
MissOops went to the hospital yesterday and has had some more steristrips put onto her knee and a swap taken just in case, so she is good to go home later today, then I can start to sort the bedrooms out and give it all a good clean.
Hope everyone who is poorly starts to see some improvement and that the sun shines on us today. Safe trip home Urms

cornergran Fri 11-Nov-22 07:41:03

Morning Mick, morning All. It’s mild and blustery out there

Enjoyed yesterday outing. Eyes on stalks like a two year old looking at the beautiful Christmas display. A bit of a drive today to Cirencester, a small town we love. Then across to see our Littlest and his Mum before heading home.

Oh heck, marydoll. Take it easy today.

Take care everyone. Hope Friday is kind to us all.

Greyduster Fri 11-Nov-22 07:38:00

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where the sun is coming up at the front of the house and the moon is still up in the back. Going to be a dry day I think. I got cabin fever yesterday waiting in for meter men and phone calls from the surgery. I’m going out today, into town, on the tram. My car is sulking. It’s only been out three times since I bought it. Good to hear that you’re feeling better day by day Ash.
Have the best day you can folks.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 11-Nov-22 07:33:17

Morning all

Haven’t opened the curtains so not sure of the weather.

I really enjoyed the champagne afternoon tea to celebrate my friends 60th, lots of chatter and laughter, both excellent medicine

I am off to the gym first thing this morning, then back to pick up The Imp from Nursery. I think we may go out for an Indian meal this evening.

Have your best day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

ginny Fri 11-Nov-22 07:32:41

Good morning sunshine everyone from a breezy but dry N. Bucks.
Hairdressers this morning and then a manicure. Lunch wit two friends.
This afternoon I have a phone call to make and will then be making sure all loose ends of jobs and messages are tied up before we go away.
Pleased Ash and her DGS are on the mend.
Hope today is good to all.

Urmstongran Fri 11-Nov-22 07:30:09

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from a gorgeously sunny Málaga. 😎We’ve had a grand month out here but today we are Homeward Bound. A neighbour has offered to run us up to the airport at 2pm as there is a Renfe railstrike today. We are flying courtesy of Mr O’Leary and, allowing for the hour back when we land, we should be in our apartment by 8:30pm, which is quite civilised.

The bedroom and bathroom have been painted while we were away so Himself will have to put the wooden blinds back up at the bedroom window first thing. They are heavy. Says it should only take him about twenty minutes ...
😁

Marydoll Fri 11-Nov-22 07:29:53

Good morning all from a very blustery Glasgow. DH is golfing, I think he is mad!!

My day yesterday got worse as it went on.
The pharmacy had no record of the remaining balance of my prescription, even implying that they had never received it from the surgery in the first place. Feeling very annoyed, I plonked myself on a seat and said I would wait until they sorted it, because it was my heart medication and was running out!

Once I explained that I had received some of the items over a week ago, but they had run out of stock of the others, because they had a new delivery driver, who was useless (the assistant's words), there was much whispering among them.
I know I keep complaining about them, but they are the only pharmacy within miles of my GP surgery and some distance from my home, so they don't deliver.
I don't have much choice.

Then I got to the surgery, only to find I had got the time wrong, I was half an hour early! DH was not amused.
However, the phlebotomist, who knows me well, came out and said she would do it, to save me waiting. I was so relieved and grateful.

Off we trotted to Asda, where unfortunately I left my handbag in the trolley and only realised it was missing, when we had left the car park and I asked DH, who had emptied the trolley, if he had put it in the boot. 😱
DH was fuming and I was in a terrible state.
Of course it wasn't there when we got back. The security guard had no information and I eventually tracked it down to customer services, where I got a right talking too!
I was in a state to say the least, my heart was pounding against my chest. 💔
The gentleman, who handed it in was still there, so I was able to give him a reward.
I have indeed become a stupid, old biddy. ☹

The final straw was when, doing some parish admin, my laminator ate the poster, I had made. I sent DH a link for a new one, because he has Prime. He got it wrong! 😭

The only piece of reasonably good new was I phoned the gastro secretary, (they are only available in the afternoons!) where my biopsies were done. Her poor ears must have been hurting, as I fired off all the failings, especially the fact that my RA medicine had been suspended, since June, because of all my ongoing stomach problems.
She was most sympathetic and said she hoped to get someone to phone me today.

I think I may have to type the parish bulletin today, since the PP's vision is still impaired, surely I can't get into much trouble doing that. Apart from that, my biggest worry is what to cook for dinner! 😁
Today, I will probably see the husband of my friend, who is gravely ill, I'm dreading it.

Baubles, I hope your day improves.
I will go back to read your posts properly. I will be back later. Nice to see Nanna posting.

Have a good day folks. Sorry for such a downbeat post.

annsixty Fri 11-Nov-22 07:29:23

Good morning all from Stockport.
Chatsworth envy here Grandmadinosaur
Derbyshire is also the county of my birth and my first 30 years.
We were booked to go to Chatsworth last year but that weekend was atrocious weather and we couldn’t go and this year my mobility is not good enough to walk round.

Have a lovely day.
To everyone have the best day you can.

Kalu Fri 11-Nov-22 07:28:23

Good morning all from a very blustery morning in Glasgow.
I have been awake since 5.00 listening to a howling wind which always makes me restless. We have an appointment with DH’s consultant at 11.00 for a routine check up, just hope the foggy brain clears before then.

13yr old GD requested a sleepover at ours tonight, just her, which we were all looking forward to but she has another bout of tonsillitis and we will have to arrange another date.

Hope a pleasant day is ahead for all.

Grandmadinosaur Fri 11-Nov-22 07:21:57

Thank you bluesapphire I agree it’s a lovely day out. We couldn’t go last year due to DILs difficult pregnancy she couldn’t travel and it was close to her date. We love sampling all the food and like you having festive drinks.

BlueSapphire Fri 11-Nov-22 07:15:57

Grandmadinosaur I went to Chatsworth Christmas markets last year; had a tour of the house decorated for Christmas then spent a pleasant time browsing the market shops. It was lovely, especially the mulled wine!

Gala Fri 11-Nov-22 07:14:40

Good morning all. Still dark here in Sefton. It seems to be dry & breezy & feels very mild.
Feeling much better after my lazy duvet day yesterday & good night's sleep. Dance exercise class followed by Pilates this morning. A bit of food shopping for the weekend this afternoon.

Wishing everyone a peaceful weekend.

Beechnut Fri 11-Nov-22 07:13:21

Good Morning everyone from Severnside.

Here we are again with Friday. I think this past week has whizzed by.

My local garage stamp my book Ash. I usually leave it on the passenger seat and the one time I forgot they left a card which I stapled into my book.

I didn’t get my crafting done yesterday. I binge watched the rest of The Crown instead so I shall have to do that later. First of all my weekly shop needs to be done.

All the best to you all 🦩🍃🍂

BlueSapphire Fri 11-Nov-22 07:12:49

Good morning everyone from a still dark dry Northampton. Washed the towels last night; they are now having a short time in the tumble dryer to softer them up, then I'll put them outside to finish off. Disappointingly my washing didn't get very dry after being left out all day yesterday, so had to finish off indoors on the clothes airer.

Up earlier again this morning as I have a hairdressers appointment at 9am, cut, colour and highlights. I quite fancy a bit of red in my hair, but will see what my stylist says. Then I'll get the bus to the shops, have a coffee and snack and do a small top-up shop. I fancy a steak for tomorrow night's dinner, and I do like to choose my own rather than order one in the weekly shop. A curry is thawing in the fridge for tonight.

Glad to hear your recovery is progressing well Ash; baby steps and all that.
GrandMattie make sure you get some rest.

Have a good Friday everyone.

Grandmadinosaur Fri 11-Nov-22 07:01:29

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. I too was woken about 5.30 due to the windy weather and couldn’t get back to sleep.

Today I am going to the Christmas market at Chatsworth house with DS and DIL. We discovered this little gem about 7 years ago and obviously haven’t been since Covid hit. So really looking forward to it. Such a beautiful setting and a pleasant day out. Also I’ll be back in the county of my birth 😀 DH is doing school pick up for GS as we don’t usually arrive home till about 5 ish.

Enjoy your shopping Shazza

Glad to hear your news that all is well with your GS and you continue to make good progress yourself Ash

Have a good day everyone.
