Good Morning Everyone,
Dark as usual but remains dry here in brackley .
Today I am tempted to have a ride about on the buses by doing what i used to do on a Saturday the other way about ,by going to Bicester first and then getting a X5 to Buckingham and then bus home.
I had a phone call yesterday as to more blood tests but will email the nurses as to it because it never gave me a indication of where I was supposed to go Hospital wise .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a mild and dry Torbay….. again! Yes, Mick, we must try to make something of the mild days as you regularly do!

Unfortunately, we weren’t able to manage a walk yesterday as it began with a period of breathlessness for me which was as inexplicable as it was frightening. My surgeon had warned of “good and bad” days so I shouldn’t have been surprised. Matters were improved by rest and with the delivery of more flowers (this time from Wednesday Club) which inevitably led to tears. I know many of you here have been through similar emotional times post surgery.

Today feels better already, just from writing to you patient people! Have a good day, all, whatever betides. Thank you for being there. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from s somerset the larks are up already smile

I was up before 5 today, jumped out of bed as always, cannot lie in

I am going to treat myself today, some food shopping in a nice supermarket, with a round trip of 30 miles. Then I will make some bread, which I leave to mature overnight, then slice for the freezer

Very early days Ash. Your body has taken a battering and will take time to heal, to make new cells. Don`t expect too much of yourself yet

grandMattie Sat 12-Nov-22 06:42:53

Good morning from E Kent. The sky is just brightening.
I took a sleeping pill last night and had a much better night. Just woke up.
Sorry you had such a scare Ash. It must have been terrifying. I hope today is quieter and you manage a little walk.
Quiet at yesterday. DL spent it chasing her vendor’s Solicitor. That woman is sitting on the draft contracts and hers can’t proceed without them. Everyone else is going very fast.
I received orthotics and made a pan appointment with the podium. I need to be in Dover at 0820 in a fortnight. I think I might take a taxi there as train back.
I not only chose one of the seven hairdressers in our little town but managed to get a cut immediately and only paid £14 for it. Hair is a bit short, but it’ll grow.
I might visit my friend in the nursing home this morning.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning all from East Yorkshire and another mild day. Apart from the dark evenings it’s hard to imagine this is November.

Chatsworth yesterday lived up to our expectations. Just a lovely day. We arrived just in time to observe the 2 minute silence at 11 am. I bought both gifts, food and a decoration for the living room. A small observation. In the cafe where we had lunch DS and I both had what said on the board as “carvery turkey cob” I knew I was back in Derbyshire then as here they are called bread cakes!

Today I am meeting up with my oldest friend. Known each other since our children were babies. She lived up here but moved down south about 30 years ago. I haven’t seen her since August last year. We usually meet up in London a few times a year. Due to rail strikes etc we haven’t felt confident doing so. They are here visiting her MIL who is in a care home. Her DH will go there today whilst friend and I will get together.

Baby steps Ash take it a day at a time.

Have a good day everyone.

brook2704 Sat 12-Nov-22 07:26:42

Good morning everyone from Alicante, yesterdays rain seems to have moved on now and another warm sunny day is forecast
Hope you get your blood tests sorted ok mick
That must have been quite frightening Ash hope it’s a one off and you have a good day today. Thank goodness olddudders is there with you
We went out last night for tapas, I’m really enjoying just choosing a couple of little things to try, much more my style of eating these days. We’re going to have a look around the port and marina area today, we’ll probably just sit for a while with a coffee watching the world go by and then look at all the expensive yachts dreaming of a lottery win ..
Thanks for the pics grandmadinosaur really lovely
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Grandmadinosaur Sat 12-Nov-22 07:29:21

Your holiday sounds right up my street brook enjoy your day today.

Greyduster Sat 12-Nov-22 07:40:00

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. A bit grey and gloomy in South Yorkshire at the moment. I had a trip into town yesterday on the tram. Quick and comfortable, but I was exhausted by the time I got home even though I’d only been in three shops! Trouble was, one was at one end of the city centre and one was at the other and it’s a fairly long walk. My young neighbour who is an occupational physiotherapist, came round to look over my living space and gave me some very good advice about my forthcoming hip surgery and what might make things easier to manage, and ended her visit by saying “and remember, I’m only next door!” I will only remember if I’m desperate - she has enough to do with a young family - but it’s good to know.
Nothing much on my agenda today. I’ll go over to DDs later and probably stay the night. I don’t like driving in the dark.
I hope you have a comfortable day today, Ash. Take it slowly.
Have the best day you can folks.

ShazzaKanazza Sat 12-Nov-22 07:40:01

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull.

Grandmadinosaur your day sounded lovely. My son and his lady are going to Chatsworth today. I love a Christmas market.

Ashcombe slow and easy does it you will get there 💐

Yesterday at the outlet DH bought me some sturdy ankle boots as mine had gone through underneath. As is always the case when I mentioned it to mum she found me some she doesn’t use any more. This was a couple of weeks ago. She’s showing me them saying ‘they only need a dust’ daughter who was with me was shaking her head at me mouthing mum don’t take them. You never go to my mums without coming home with something. I could write a book.
Today daughter and Grandaughters are popping over but not to much else.

Have a lovely Saturday everyone. Thinking of those feeling stressed and not well🌻🌻

BlueSapphire Sat 12-Nov-22 07:43:32

Good morning everyone from a grey but dry Northampton, set to be fine all day.

Had my hair done too yesterday, grandMattie, not sure if I like it as I went for a different colour; I said to my stylist that I fancied a bit of red, and now I have a shock every time I look in the mirror, it is so much darker! Perhaps I will get used to it, and it can always be changed next time.
Went to M&S Food for coffee and a snack afterwards and met two lovely ex-colleagues,.Had a nice chat with them.

Planning on going on a bit of a trek on the bus today to a retail park in East Northants; I have some vouchers to spend, and don't fancy going any nearer to Christmas or it will be heaving. I expect it will be pretty busy today anyway. Will probably have lunch out (and wine, wine) while I'm there. Be nice to see some different shops.

Glad that you slept better grandMattie, and Ash, take it easy.

Have a good Saturday everyone.

Greyduster Sat 12-Nov-22 07:44:13

Glad you enjoyed Chatsworth, Grandmadinosaur. It’s our “local” stately home. Even if you aren’t visiting the house and gardens, the park is lovely to roam around in. The views from the hunting tower are superb.

Gwenisgreat1 Sat 12-Nov-22 07:45:30

Good morning all from bright Harrogate.
It’s no use telling you you need more appointments if they don’t tell you where you have to go Mick.
What a scare Ashcombe take care.
Yesterday we had a visit from our man that trims hedges. We have a large tall hedge at the back of the house which we have trimmed annually. He arrived at 9 o clock and left at 4 pm. Meanwhile I made a large Xmas cake.
Must try to get to a supermarket to get more ingredients so I can do more Xmas baking before the egg shortage hits us!
Have the best day possible folks

Grammaretto Sat 12-Nov-22 07:46:08

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders .
Very mild here.
I have viewings arranged for my granny annexe - where I lived last winter. The agent will do that but I shall meet any potential lodgers twitch the curtains and no doubt get feedback.
This will go on all week.
My DB is coming for lunch.
Ash I hope there are no repeats of that episode. How scary!
Have the best day possible everyone.

Grandmabatty Sat 12-Nov-22 07:47:55

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 11° and damp and grey. Lovely photosGrandmadinosaur it seems like you had a good day. Brook I'm fond of tapas. A local restaurant serves Scottish tapas which are lovely. I'm a fan of small plates too. Ash I'm sorry you weren't well yesterday. Hopefully today will be better.
Yesterday I visited my oldest friend who is unwell. She is very stoic but being unable to eat much at all is getting to her. She will find out her biopsy results next week.
Today I'm going to a craft fair with my aunt. We are both keen on different crafts and I'm looking forward to it. I'm very fond of my aunt too. She's a year younger than me and is more like a sister. Apart from that, I'll do the usual housework and washes, then strictly tonight. Have a good day all.

BlueBalou Sat 12-Nov-22 07:47:58

Good morning everyone, I don’t know what it’s doing outside as haven’t looked yet!
Yesterday DDog and I enjoyed two walks and a wander, today DH is taking her for a longer one.
I will bottle up DD’s sloe gin today, there should be about 2 litres I think 😋. There’s very few sloes around here so will try further afield- it’s really simple to make and completely delicious.
I really need to finish some knitting today too.
Hope you all have a peaceful weekend x

Urmstongran Sat 12-Nov-22 07:54:25

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s milder than I expected with highs of 15°C expected. I can see a faint outline of the Pennines which is always a good sign.

We hit the day running. I’ll be writing a shopping list the fridge is empty, apart from butter and milk. Himself will go down to Sainsbury’s for Burford Browns and crumpets. (I always think of a certain someone whenever we have them - 👋 to you lovely lady if you’re reading). Then it’s putting the apartment ship shape as the decorator has been. It looks lovely and fresh! L’il Miss is coming over mid morning to play as she’s ‘desperate’ to see me. The feeling’s mutual darling girl. I’ll take her to the library she loves going to choose books. We end up playing ‘school’ in their too for a while. It’s only in the square, next door to Sainsbury’s. She likes going up the escalator!

I will give her lunch then we will walk her home, see the rest of the little FoF and get our car back. Late afternoon we are meeting friends for drinks downstairs in Bevano we haven’t seen them since Easter. Then up in the lift to eat and I plan to start watching the new series of The Crown this evening. Himself isn’t a fan.
😮

Enjoy Saturday all who can. Ash I’m glad you’re not on your own. I can only imagine how frightened that episode must have made you feel. You are very sensible so I know you will rest while you heal. x

Just previewed my post. I’m not very good at being succinct am I? I need to start cutting my posts down. I witter on far too much I think.
😊

Pittcity Sat 12-Nov-22 08:00:33

Good morning from a grey skied Colchester. Another dry day with temperature reaching 17°.
We have a free National Trust ticket to use before the end of the month and so are off to Sutton Hoo. I'd better shake a leg.
Love to all 🦩 x

Urmstongran Sat 12-Nov-22 08:03:08

I need to learn from you Pittcity! (and others) 😊

kittylester Sat 12-Nov-22 08:07:16

Good morning all from a grey North Leicestershire.

DD2 and co arrived last night and cooked for us - a big relief for DH!

They are going to the fair today and then we are babysitting while they go out to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary.

Have the best day possible everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 12-Nov-22 08:09:22

Morning all

It looks a bit grey outside, have t seen the weather forecast but it’s still not chilly enough for a proper coat here in S E Essex

Food shopping this morning, then this afternoon I shall sort out my Christmas cupboard to see what gifts I have and what more I need along with some wrapping up.

Ashcombe must have been a scary moment for you.

Good to have you back Urmstongran

Have your best day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Morning from S Yorks where it seems to be brightening up from first thing.

I see distinct amounts of blue in the sky.

What a lovely neighbour, Greyduster

Predictably, its the gym and if nice, a walk in Botanical Gardens. I only shop weekly with top ups if I've forgotten something.

so true Ash - speaking it out in Gransnet one is immediately not alone!

Take care all poorlies and carers.

Marydoll Sat 12-Nov-22 08:14:49

Good morning all from a showery Glasgow, where it's 11°C.

I'm sorry you had that episode Ash, they can be frightening and unsettling and knock our confidence. Its early days yet and I'm sure better days lie ahead.

Brook, that's my favourite way of eating now, I can't do big meals any more. You seem to be enjoying your break! 💚

Yesterday was a better day, apart from the gas grill on my Rangemaster packing up, just as I was making dinner.! I foolishly asked DH to look up troubleshooting on his tablet, I gave up and went away to look it up myself. All I knew was, that it would cost a fortune to repair!
I came back down to find DH had got it working! He doesn't know what he did, but I didn't care! I suspect a blocked jet, but I couldn't find it in the first place..

Last night DIL came with Dollie and took me to the school shoppers' night, in our church hall, to cheer me up.
It was meant to be half an hour..........two hours later I was still there, but seriously flagging. It was straight to bed when I got home. However, it was a great tonic and certainly lifted my low mood.

I did buy two beautiful scarves at £5 each, which I would gladly have paid £20 for in a fancy boutique.
The fact that the mother and aunt of former pupils, was running the stall , may have had something to do with my bargains.
Dollie's best friend asked her, Does your gran know everyone in here! 😁
I had a great time, catching up with people, I hadn’t seen since before the pandemic.
I was disappointed to find when I got home, I had a missed call from a Gransnet pal.
All day, I had been getting phone calls from the PTA, with queries about the hall. They were unaware the PP was so unwell and were bombarding him with emails, but getting no response.
Someone had the bright idea of contacting me for help and of course, I just can't say no.

This morning I'm off to a Diocesan Safeguarding training meeting, which I dreamt I was delivering. I woke up in a panic! Thankfully I'm not.😁
My ill friend's sister will be there, I'm dreading hearing the news. We were going for a catch up after it, but she is understandably going to the hospital afterwards.

Thinking of those who are struggling, especially the poorly DDs.
Have a good day folks, whatever your plans

ginny Sat 12-Nov-22 08:25:02

Good morning everyone.
DGS2 (6) is coming over after his football training. He has asked to go to our local museum and to help make the Christmas pudding. We’ll also take him out for lunch So a busy day.
Hope today is good to all and thoughts with all who are poorly or troubled in any way.

monk08 Sat 12-Nov-22 08:28:53

Good morning all from a sunny Black country.
Ash what a scare glad olddudders is with you take care.
Complete and utter mystery but we found a chicken's egg in the back garden yesterday. It was not broken so hadn't been thrown, it was near to our back door where its come from we do not know it had the lion on so definitely shop bought.
Will catch up later full English calling I won't be using that egg got some fresh farm ones.
Enjoy your Saturday and may you all find some 🌞.

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 12-Nov-22 08:33:47

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I only woke up at 8.15 am. Unbelievable! I think my day will consist of baking, maybe making new curtains for the downstairs loo, watching a couple more Crowns and reading! It’s OH’s turn to cook dinner so I think it will be chicken curry. At some point I need to go through some boxes of china which we don’t need. Fortunately our nearby town has several Charity Shops. Have a good day everyone, especially those who are unwell.
