Good Morning Everyone,
Dark as usual but remains dry here in brackley .
Today I am tempted to have a ride about on the buses by doing what i used to do on a Saturday the other way about ,by going to Bicester first and then getting a X5 to Buckingham and then bus home.
I had a phone call yesterday as to more blood tests but will email the nurses as to it because it never gave me a indication of where I was supposed to go Hospital wise .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a dry, dull but still fairly warm Black Country.

Lovely time spent chatting over coffee with friends in Birmingham. We made a coffee and sandwich last 2 hours! So appreciate my senior pass which means I can travel on trains also in the West Midlands.

This morning I am making a Lasagne for DGD's as I am staying overnight with the girls while DD and SIL go out for a meal with friends. They all love my Lasagne.

Sorry you had such a fright Ashcombe thank goodness olddudders is there.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend

Greyduster I commented to DIL how lovely it must be to live close to Chatsworth to enjoy those walks. You are very fortunate having it on your doorstep. I also heard some ladies talking about the haunting tower. Every time we go to the market we say we must do the house too. I’m putting it in my need to go list for 2023.

Morning Mick, morning All from a mild, cloudy corner of Somerset.

Back from a few days rattling round the Cotswolds with good friends. Disappointed I sort of lost one day feeling poorly, otherwise enjoyed it all. Mr C has been an absolute star and donned his chauffeur cap, usually we share.

Laundry today and some grocery shopping, otherwise not a lot.

Go gently ash, surgery takes some getting over.

Take care everyone. Hope Saturday has a smile for us all.

Good morning from high cloud in S Hants, bed has been stripped. What a fright Ash hopefully no repeat today.
Sounds idyllic brook, a relaxing break.
I was going to make a batch of stuffing today, but I’m missing my mixing bowl (daughter has it) and foil freezer boxes (on their way). It’ll be a job for another day.
Enjoy yours 🦩🦩

Good morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s dry and still.

Take it easy Ash, little steps until you are stronger.

Your holiday sounds great Brook.

Last night DH and I went to a Memoriam evening in our diocese cathedral. The music was incredibly beautiful with the choir performing Fauré’s Requiem. We almost didn’t go as I was so tired after a sleepless night and a busy day at work but I’m so glad I forced myself out.

No plans today, I’ll see where the day takes me.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning all.

I always think of you Urms when we have Burford Browns. Yum!

Enjoy Sutton Hoo Pittcity . We haven’t been since the renovations. Let me know what you think! I’m reading The Dig at the moment!

We had a wander at Hyde Hall yesterday. Never seen it so busy. There was a huge Christmas craft fayre on. Goodness knows what it will be like over the weekend!

I’ll pop up to town this afternoon and have a look for some festive goodies. Dh will be at footie. Indian takeaway from M and S tonight. We had the Chinese last week. Highly recommended!

Kind wishes to you all. 💕

Good morning from a lovely sunny Sefton.

A trip to our local retail park this morning for a bit of Christmas shopping. That's the only plan for the day. Maybe walk along the beach to take advantage of this most welcome unseasonal weather.

Wishing all a good weekend.

Nannagarra Sat 12-Nov-22 08:53:59

Good morning from sunny Sefton.
Yesterday we sandwiched a trip to a large independent department store and a Greek restaurant round our planned activity. DH suggested both - good man. We arrived home to find that a blind we’d ordered for the bathroom which doesn’t require drilling and screws had been delivered. So far so good: the colours ‘go’. Now to prep the tiles.
Gosh, that must have been very frightening Ashcombe. Hopefully you’ll have a good day today.
Sending best wishes to everyone.

Good morning from a grey and quiet Angus coast. The forecast for today was grey and a light wind all day, so I've put that bedding wash on - only to find drizzle forecast all morning now. Oh well, it will no doubt dry in time.
I hope you're feeling better now Ash. Take things slowly.
Urms we all love your cheery posts so please don't stop 'wittering'!
More sad news yesterday. A lady I knew slightly, the mother of a former tai chi student, has passed away - at the age of 106! She was an amazing lady, a true character, who was still able to look after herself in her own home without help well into her 90s. She looked wonderful too, loved having her hair and makeup done and always wore bright colours. A true shining light.
Have you heard of the "Hi Mum" scam? I hadn't - until yesterday. It's a very plausible scenario - lost phone, new phone, new number etc etc; then a request for some money until his online banking was up and running. Hmmm. I went into my contacts and phoned him on his old number - and he answered. So the scam didn't get far - but be warned. Apparently it's been going around for a while.
Not a lot happening here this weekend - just a peaceful relax - I hope. I shall go and hang the washing out and hope that that forecast drizzle is just a scam as well!
Have a lovely day everyone, doing what pleases you most. Lots of get well soon vibes winging their way to all who need them x

Another good morning from S Lanarkshire, still having tea in bed but will get moving after this. I haven’t been on top form this week and am feeling a bit weary.

A frightening episode Ash, good that you weren’t on your own. Recovery definitely takes longer as we get older, but you’ll get there.

I had thought about going to that concert baubles but realised that night driving is no longer for me! I’m glad it was so good.

I’m meeting DD1 and DGDs 1 and 2 for lunch today. I’m looking forward to hearing how DGD1 has been getting on at Uni although I have no doubt it will be an edited version!

Wishing everyone a good day🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from a very dull Essex by the sea.

We had a nice chatty evening at the Yacht club last night. A good turnout for once.

Some shopping this morning plus a trip to a local stationers to get a poster printed.

DH is visiting his friend in hospital this afternoon. He has really been through the mill and no sign of him going home anytime soon.

I hope you have a better day today Ash, take it easy.

Happy Saturday to you all, much love xx

Oopsadaisy1 Sat 12-Nov-22 09:40:13

Good morning from a ‘trying to be sunny’ Oxfordshire. MissOops went home yesterday so I changed 3 beds to get everything back to normal.
Sorting stuff today ready for the Charity Shops on Monday.

I too a. Trying not to write a book each morning, but I love Urms and Marydolls posts.

Hope everyone who is poorly has a better day today and hugs for those who are in need of one. 🌺

Auntieflo Sat 12-Nov-22 10:08:14

Morning Mick, and Annie if you are still popping in here.
Managed to get round to posting before coffee time . Usually I am so late that I don't bother .
Our Church coffee shop is going to be open this morning, after a long shut down. I think it is volunteer shortages as much as anything.
A good shout out for Boots opticians. Since last Sunday, I had been suffering with a 'scratchy' eye. So I phoned Specsavers to see if someone could have a look. After a triage, First appointment offered was 8 days hence. So then I tried Vision Express. Their first appointment was at the end of November.
Boots, on the other hand, offered to fit me in between the optometrist's clients. She managed to tweezer? out an ingrowing eyelash. Oh the relief! and suggested some gel eye drops. What a difference. So thank you Boots.
Hoping that Ash has a comfortable, relaxing day.
To Marydoll, try and slow down a bit.
I willgo and catch up on everyone's doings' a bit later.
Have a good day one and all.

Blossoming Sat 12-Nov-22 10:21:30

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s sunny in my corner of Lancashire.

Today I really must make a Christmas card list and arrange for a donation to Crisis. We only give gifts to the youngest members of the family and I need to make a list of those also.

You are so right about the post surgery ups and downs Ashcombe. It is frightening, hope today is a better one.

Glad you’re enjoying your holiday Brooke, I love ‘picky eating’ too, can’t manage big heavy meals these days!

What a lovely neighbour Greyduster.

Welcome back Urmstongran, please don’t cut back on your ‘wittering’, I love reading it.

Lots of shopping trips and market visits in GN, I am rather envious as my mobility is not good enough at the moment. If the weather stays dry I aim to have a walk by the river later. I don’t mind walking in the rain but all the fallen leaves make it slippery underfoot.

Enjoy your Saturday, hope everyone finds some happiness today 🦩🦩🦩

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Nice day with DD yesterday, we dropped off jumble and took flowers to family grave to see how the headstone was getting on. Brother in law’s name just started and no headway with my DH name at all (some ashes in there) It’s been months and months..
We then had brunch, my hot dog (10”) was too much and I ate half, eating the other half later. I took DD through a mock interview as she is applying for management.
She had a night out with friends and I had a night in with Poldark, the Crown and the cat. She drives back to the south today, only arrived on Thursday night, so it really is a flying visit (and her job is flying).
Thoughts to Ashcombe and those with family worries 💐

Kalu Sat 12-Nov-22 10:30:51

Good morning from a damp but mild day in Glasgow.

DH’s check up went well yesterday, more positives which works wonders for his spirit. He suggested we do a supermarket shop afterwards which surprised me as he hasn’t been too confident or feeling up to going out in public with the obvious trachy button showing at his throat, a small step but another hurdle behind him. Who would have thought spending time in a supermarket was a wonderful day out?😄
You are doing incredibly well Ash. Your scare yesterday was understandably frightening, hopefully it was a one off and you begin to feel some progress day by day. Rest when you need to.
You will be pleased you forced yourself out Baubles, such a beautiful piece of music to listen to in perfect surroundings.
Good to hear you had a better day yesterday Marydoll

Have the best day possible all

Georgesgran Sat 12-Nov-22 10:33:47

Good morning from a bright Durham. I’ve had a dreadful night, culminating in a nightmare in which I’d lost my grandson – it seemed so real - I woke screaming his name and now have a headache to kill a horse. DD1’s at a loose end today with DGS1, as her husband has work this weekend, so she has suggested an outing with DD2 and her little one, so I will go along to help – it’s not easy pushing a push chair from a wheelchair at the best of times, but worse at the moment with her foot still in an enormous bandage! The wound is healing, but very slowly. At least collecting her new car went to plan yesterday and there’s much more room for all her ‘stuff’.
gM that is what I feared in my post yesterday - it’s happened to many I know in the past.
Ash I hope you have a better day, scare over.
Mary and Urms keep up the novellas!
Best wishes to all for a decent weekend.

luluaugust Sat 12-Nov-22 10:42:56

Good morning from a cloudy W Kent. Busy morning, made up two beds, finished some ironing and been for a quick shop all by 10 o'clock, I think I could flake out now but visitors are due soon so will just keep going.
Ash I also hope today is smoother. Best wishes to all

Greyduster Sat 12-Nov-22 10:46:15

That must have been truly awful, Georgesgran. Difficult to shake those off.
Taichinan my DiL was nearly a victim of the same scam last week. She’s a very level headed lady, but all common sense went temporarily out of the window until DS got in touch with SGS at work! There is also apparently one going around involving bailiffs and the county court.

Taichinan Sat 12-Nov-22 11:52:01

Kalu a very positive step forward for MrK. Well done to you both.
Greyduster it's distressingly easy to be taken in by these odious scams. And there were lots of indicators too - his name came up with a dot between Christian name and surname, he never starts a list with "Hi Mum" and neither of my son's ends a post with an 'x'. And obviously I would never consent to pay out large sums for whatever reason (and he would never ask). So there we go - I shall be very mistrusting for the foreseeable future! Thanks for telling me I'm not alone.
