Me and my partner are going round to family tonight for a pizza and to play games with the quite young kids. You know, round the table, in the evening, pack of cards or whatever is the game of the moment.

I sent him to the shop and said “Get a tub of Celebrations or something like that to have on the table to dip into.”

He’s come back with a small packet of assorted baklava.

See the similarity?

Nor do I🤔🙄😬

I'd have to eat quite a bit of baklava and more than a few chocolates to decide where my vote would go.

Sounds like a good night was had by all, Lathyrus grin

This is however the essential statement, "and to ask staff when he can’t find something."

This,
I work in retail and it’s my job to help you find stuff. “End of” as a previous manager of mine would say.
It’s astonishing how few younger people realise this. If customers don’t get helped, to spend, staff will all be replaced by self service checkouts!
We’re there to help you, ask us. ( remind us)

Hate baclava. It’s so sweet and they never make it with lots of syrup. Always dried out and hard. My husband just came back from visiting his sisters in Turkey and brought back loads of it for his colleagues. Give me a curry instead please. His sisters are not Turkish. Just saying.
