Following on from the In/Out of step threads.
I watched Big Brother in the very early days, but don't watch any now

Doesn’t much of TV now have an element of ‘reality’?
Strictly; X Factor; Bake Off (and all of its copycats - pottery, jewellery, sewing); the drag queen stuff; Four in a Bed; The Best House in Town; programs about hospitals, tattoo shops, vets; all the dating stuff etc etc

No, we don't watch reality shows.

That's very true FannyCornforth, but I was thinking more of I'm a Celebrity, Big Brother, The only way is Essex etc

VB000 Wed 16-Nov-22 12:39:39

Just Strictly and sometimes the painting ones

MissAdventure Wed 16-Nov-22 12:44:12

I like the hospital programmes, and emergency ER ones.

The only thing I now watch all of is Masterchef... the rest are often cringe-worthy and/or banal. One year I tried to watch Big Brother but I think its awful and won't watch it again. I got bored of watching Strictly. I'm a Celebrity is grim.

My guilty pleasure is the occasional First Dates .

The only one I've ever watched is Great British Sewing Bee if that counts. Never watched any of the others, none have ever appealed to me.

VEry few- Strictly, because I love the dancing, but Judges, presenters drive me bonkers. And Master Chef, on and off. I do watch and like The Repair Shop.

I am a Celebrity/Big Brother and such like is just trash.

ShazzaKanazza Wed 16-Nov-22 13:24:20

We watch Strictly but only these last two years and Masterchef. We also like The Apprentice but that’s all.

FannyCornforth Wed 16-Nov-22 13:45:40

I love Celebrity Big Brother (but not the civilian one) Definitely my favourite.
I can never get into I’m a Celebrity and don’t like the animal stuff at all.
I like the ‘arty’ competition ones, but not the ‘foody’ ones.
Can’t bare the X Factor and similar talent things.
Strictly is ok, but I can’t get invested in it.
I used to really like Wife Swap and How Clean is your House. (Nosiness really)
Come Dine and Four in a Bed have jumped the shark.
A friend of mine was on the Midwife one (trainee doctor)
Im too squeamish to watch the medical and vet ones. I accidentally saw a bit of the emergency one, and it scared me silly.
Would never watch the Essex and Housewives type ones. They are called ‘scripted reality’ aren’t they.

The more I think about it - there are hundreds of them, aren’t there!

I’ve just totted up how many I watch. ☺️☺️

Of course they’re only the classy ones like Strictly, Bake Off, Masterchef, Grand Designs, Location x 3 and obviously I’m only watching I’m a Celebrity so I know who everyone else is talking about….I think I’d better stop now.😂😂 😂😇

M0nica Wed 16-Nov-22 13:56:05

No.

MissAdventure Wed 16-Nov-22 13:56:09

I like first dates and gogglebox smile

Of course, I only found out by accidentally watching them, so I think I've redeemed my foul tastes somewhat.

Smileless2012 Wed 16-Nov-22 13:57:27

IACGMOOH is the only one I've ever watched.

FannyCornforth Wed 16-Nov-22 13:57:53

And then there’s all the house hunting ones (A Place in the Sun etc) and the house selling ones (Homes under the Hammer).

MissAdventure Wed 16-Nov-22 14:00:46

Oh, I like those, too.
Escape to the country is a favourite.

Georgesgran Wed 16-Nov-22 14:13:00

I’ve mixed feelings - I quite like shows where the public is helped - animal/human health, buying houses, Police Interceptors. I like Gogglebox too. However, I watch nothing that is competitive - Strictly, Bake Off, Love Island, sewing, pottery, jewellery.
Funnily enough I enjoy quiz shows, but that’s brains rather than beauty or skill. Nothing with so called celebrities interests me much.

Jaxjacky Wed 16-Nov-22 14:25:19

No, unless Googlebox is counted.

Wyllow3 Wed 16-Nov-22 14:29:09

Sewing Bee, top ever. The painting ones. Sometimes "Repair shop".

Nature reality programmes. Very hooked on Great Train journeys as long as its not wall to wall posh wine swigging but lovely scenery I'll never see round the world.

Pretty hooked on Police Interceptors and similar. Not sure why.

Bellasnana Wed 16-Nov-22 14:42:00

No. I would rather watch paint dry.🙄

LadyGracie Wed 16-Nov-22 14:58:59

I only watch I’m a Celebrity, I look forward to it every year.

Kate1949 Wed 16-Nov-22 15:02:02

Only I'm A Celebrity after vowing we would never watch such dross. We are now addicted.

AreWeThereYet Wed 16-Nov-22 15:23:01

I started watching Bake Off and Strictly but stopped after a few series. Once it gets all hyper and more about the presenters and participants than what they are demonstrating I get bored. I watched the very first episodes of Big Brother but was bored out of my mind listening to the inane rubbish and realised that the youngsters down my local are far more entertaining, especially when they've had a drink or two. I think the only series I've stuck with is Sewing Bee, and I wasn't crazy about the last series of that. Used to catch the odd episode of Place in the Country just to look at the houses.
