Good Morning Everyone,
Dark , but a dry start here in Brackley this morning .
I plan to go to Bicester and browse the shelves today with maybe a small purchase and have a coffee and a sarnie in my favourite haunt .
I tried to read my meter as to electric yesterday , but found the numbers hard to jot down so I have ordered a magnifying glass to help make it easier.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick and everyone from greyish Carlisle where it is 3C. The upstairs CH has kicked in this morning and it's set quite low.
Yesterday was a quiet day reading and photo editing and organising so much easier now on the new lightning fast computer. The air is blue no longer!
Today is the usual monday laundry and housework. There probably won't be gardening later as rain is forecast by lunchtime.
I'm having an issue with my newly repaired hearing aids..the soft plasticky bits were renewed, now, on putting them in, they are causing vicious itching. I have tried wiping them over with a damp tissue but the problem remains and has left my ear interior with a slight burning sensation. I'm either allergic to the plastic or something it's been wiped with. I'll try cleaning and wearing them again later but will probably have to get back to Audiology.

I'm so sorry to read your news Megs and hope you can get some helpful treatment. I shall be thinking of you.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates dressing gowns Urms. I wear a fleece over my PJs if needed.

Megs I was so sorry to read your diagnosis yesterday. 💐
Special thoughts to Greyduster too. Incidentally, I used to live in an area where many Gurkhas had retired, a lot having part time jobs driving buses, they were always so polite and courteous. DH had worked with them in the forces and said what a fierce reputation they had.

We are up in the clouds this morning so although the forecast says sun later it’s very hard to believe at the moment.
I’m glad to see that you are starting to feel an improvement Ash.

Morning all. It’s a keen frost here today, the first proper one of this winter. After all the rain yesterday, I hope there’s no black ice about.
Haven’t read all the posts yet as I’m popping out but will come back to read later. I just wanted to wish you all a good morning before the afternoon creeps in.
Take care everyone and kind thoughts to all feeling poorly or dealing with difficulty.

Good morning all from, believe it or not, a beautiful wintery frosty morning on the Angus coast! So welcome after what seems like weeks of fog followed by Biblical rains and flooding. Actually it turned into a sunny afternoon yesterday which prompted thoughts of a walk on my favourite beach - until I remembered the flooded country lanes!
Sorry I haven't posted recently - what words of wisdom you have been denied! - but I kept losing my posts. After the third time, I threw my hands in the air and growled I give up decided the universe had its reasons so didn't try again.
Your news is so sad Megs but I hope the treatment you are given will be a huge help and the love and comfort of your beloved family will be priceless 🌹
There have been some lovely photos on here lately which cheered me up through the fog (and gave me blue sky envy!). But there's a deep blue patch just above my house as I write, so I'm content. And I'm studiously ignoring the build up of clouds over the hills and out to sea 😉
Now I must make haste to hang the washing out and hold fast to the belief that it will dry today.
Thinking of all those unwell or recuperating and sending love to all for 🌞 and blue skies and 🌈 x

Yay! Success!

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s grey, cloudy and damp in my corner of Lancashire. Currently 7°C. The forecast is dire, rain and wind all day.

I slept poorly, no health issues, just couldn’t settle. Feeling wabbit but need to get on with a few things today. The chilblains are on the run but my hands feel a bit tingly this morning so maybe colder weather is on the way. I have my Snowfire and gloves at the ready!

Glad you’re feeling stronger Ashcombe and a good day for you Marydoll, well done on the bargains.

Wishing you all a Happy Monday 🌻

Good morning Mick and all from a dull northwest coast.
We had our final rehearsal here yesterday for tomorrow’s gig. My DS was around and able to look at a problem guitar. He’s a guitarist himself and repairs them. Now I must firm up on the dress to wear, I think it will be the blue one, which will please the Evertonian in the band.
There was enough chicken left for a tasty meal for myself in the evening from the chicken cooked the night before by DS.
Then an episode of Poldark. I’m bored by the mine stuff but have changed my affections to the baddie, Warleggan (a great name!)
Thoughts to Megs, take it easy Ashcombe and thoughts to anyone with troubles 🌼

That's so lovely Holly.

Thank you Taichinan!👍

Good morning from very wet West Sussex.
I was going to take stuff to the charity shop but not in this rain. DH has left the potatoes he dug up on Saturday at the allotment, lying on bags at the back of the house. They are getting well washed 🤣.

I have Tai Chi at one o’clock- it is a small group of us not confident about joining an experienced group. I have terrible trouble with coordination when I have to do moves that involve hands or feet alternating position. I love ‘parting the clouds’ though - it reminds me of Incy Wincy spider.
Aggie ‘fair stottin’ definitely describes what the rain is doing here right now!

Megs36 so sorry to read of your lung cancer diagnosis. I hope you will be able to have some treatment to slow things down and minimise symptoms. I know you will have lots of support from your family and friends as well as on here.

Litterpicker Mon 21-Nov-22 12:07:15

Potatoes in the rain!

Greyduster Mon 21-Nov-22 12:36:57

Holly that’s lovely! You put me to shame! I am still staring at a picture that is still at the drawing stage and hasn’t seen a paint brush yet, and one that only needs a boat finishing. Can I? No.

Wyllow3 Mon 21-Nov-22 12:43:48

My day was turned upside down: just after I posted "tree fellas" rung me, could they come now instead of December. Rush to knock on neighbours door, they are done and dusted now, just as well, its started to rain: I've had counselling session and intend to do very little.

Ah, Greyduster, the half done craft projects: pile next to sewing machine: half completed watercolour: "Can I? No."

"Me too". sometimes one just doesn't have the ooooomf, but I like to read what everyone else is up to. Possibilities!

another thought for Meg trying to come to terms with your news xx

OP Surly you need a smart meter, it’s all done online, then you know exactly where you are !
I check balances on both gas and electricity online and top up when needed … ( which unfortunately seems to often this year)

Grandma29 Mon 21-Nov-22 13:22:28

Hope everyone’s having a good day regardless if the depressing weather
I like to go out every day no matter what the weather so have come down to the local Costa and shopping down at the retail park.

madeleine45 Mon 21-Nov-22 17:23:51

more like good evening to you all, as it is already dark and chilly here. This am had a doctors appt ( the vampires needed more of my blood!!) and was nearly late as my goodness the car was frozen over and took quite a lot of effort to clear the windows. Need to get into proper winter mode now, have been pretending it was still autumn for as long as possible but time to forget that . My positive side kept light t shirts in the drawers in hopes of warm enough weather to wear them but time to put them away and get out the jumpers. Have been struggling quite a lot with my back but have managed to go swimming twice and they have a hoist to get in and out of the pool. It is the best exercise I can do as it is easier to move round swimming than weight bearing things and I do feel it has helped a bit. Most of the day has been spent sorting out paperwork and stuff . I much prefer baking or polishing some furniture! At least then you have something to show for all your efforts. I had sorted quite a bit of stuff out but cant see much for my efforts and now will have to try and tidy stuff up. Cant look forward to any good rugby to cheer the evening up. Still it was good while it lasted and as I have no interest in football , might encourage me to get on with a few more jobs! Have a good evening all

Tootsy Mon 21-Nov-22 17:26:57

Mick, I am signed up with Bulb to have a meter reader come every couple of months to read my meter. I am over 60 (80) and disabled and I am entitled to have 'senior' help. I won't have a smart meter as I was advised not to have one. Can you check if your energy company offer this service? This is first time I have written on here but I follow you on here every day. I wish you good health and happy days. Take care.

From a frosty , bright Aberdeen. It was beautiful when I walked the dog and hung out the washing.
