Good morning. Another foggy start here in s somerset, we had fog and gloom all day yesterday and it was thoroughly bone-chilling and damp outside

I did become nicely occupied yesterday and will be doing the same today, I have dvds and cds to put into stacking case-logic files. I have to get rid of all the hard cases but so be it.

I want them all on a shelf otherwise I forget I have them. I keep popping into the charity shop and am drawn to dvds for 50p and cds for 20p. I shall probably end up bopping about listening to some lively music

Ashcombe Fri 02-Dec-22 06:17:30

Good morning from a chilly Torbay (2deg but feels like -1 due to a North wind)

I hope you soon have a date for your operation, Mick. It probably won’t be long if yesterday's was a pre-op assessment.

The sunshine encouraged us on to the Downs yesterday which, at 3/4 mile, is the furthest distance I’ve walked since my operation. On the way back we picked up some delicious fish and chips from Hanbury's, which is renowned for its quality. They tasted delicious - the best we've tasted!

DH plans an early start to do a Lidl shop whilst I’ll stay here as the fire alarm company is due to carry out tests throughout the block.

Wishing everyone a good day. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from a dark south Hants. I can’t see anything out the windows … I feel like I’m the only one up!

Yesterday was quite productive… DH finished the skirting boards and did a smashing job 👏 and we managed to find curtains in Dunelm for both bedrooms plus a curtain pole.

Ran out of time for carpet so that will have to be done tomorrow now as today I’m painting woodwork at DD’s new pad! We’re tackling the hallway today. She has offered to cook fajitas for lunch.

Have a great Friday everyone. Thoughts to those with worries and unwell🦩🦩🦩
Hugs and 💐 for you all x

BlueBalou Fri 02-Dec-22 06:36:13

Good morning from a foggy, soggy Wiltshire village. Yesterday was horrible weather-wise, visibility less than 50 yards driving to the village for art group. It didn’t clear all day and so cold at 2 °.
Today I’m meeting an old friend for coffee, we lost touch 26 years ago but I bumped into her recently. So much to catch up on.
This weekend I’m going through my wardrobe; I still have far too many clothes 🙄, I live in jeans, trousers and tops and rarely need to dress up or go out.
The charity shop will benefit!
I hope today brightens up for you all x

Good morning from Essex by the sea. Another cold, dank day ahead.
DH had a very productive appointment with the Dermatologist yesterday but now has to wait for an appointment with a Plastic surgeon to discuss the removal of two very suspicious looking areas on his head.
He had all the sun damage areas zapped with dry ice, ouch !
I must visit the Post Office and buy some stamps today and post a Christmas card to my aunt and uncle in Australia.
I got the tree out yesterday and will put it up in the next few days.
Have a fabulous Friday everyone, much love xx

grandMattie Fri 02-Dec-22 07:06:39

Good morning from dawning e Kent. T was wet nd dreary all day yesterday, an, for us, pretty chilly. Ore of the same day. Well done for your walk, Ash.
DL should be exchanging contracts today, the solicitor il be pleased as DL calls her at least once a day. She is now worried that she doesn’t have enough money in her account… this reassuring lark is endless.
I have an ye test today. I have very complicated corrections and prefer to see the same person every time, and managed that today. An expensive jaunt, as I suspect I shall need new glasses.
I have finished the Holy family in my second knitted nativity, this time for my lovely Spanish teacher.
Have uie da everyone. Carpe diem🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from East Yorkshire. 2 degrees and foggy. Haven’t seen the sun here for days Ash

Busy day yesterday with a trip out and then home to preparing the living room which needs a bit of stuff moving about to accommodate the tree. When GS came we got out and read the Christmas books and had fun playing with a Rudolph glove puppet I’d found in a charity shop. Lovely times.

Today DS is coming to help Dh move a piece of furniture and I will get my Christmas trinkets out. Need to do a small shop at some point. This evening it is the light switch on in the Square. I know the family are going and GS asked if I was. I’ll take that as a royal command!

Have a good day everyone.

Urmstongran Fri 02-Dec-22 07:14:22

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s still dark. Dry though. Looks chilly out but clear. We are picking the Boy Wonder and L’il Missup from school today and taking them to their routine dental check ups. Then will wait with them at theirs until mummy gets home from work. We were supposed to be babysitting tonight but son-in-law is full of a cold so got a text last night saying they’d rather stay in with Prosecco and a takeaway.

I’m doing the opposite to you karmalady! Im taking a carrier bag of CD’s down to the charity shop today. I’ve culled them back to just a dozen. Mostly these days we listen to songs requested on Alexa. Easy to just say ‘play the Michael Bublé CD of Christmas songs’. Our CD’s have been retired for some time really.

Good morning from a misty and chilly Black Country.

Had a lovely meal yesterday with my Thursday walking group. There were 20 of us, spread over 3 tables. I managed to sit on the table near the log fire!

Today I am off to Worcester Victorian Christmas Market on the train with my friend who lives nearby. We have known each other since we were 18.

BlueBalou how lovely to be meeting an old friend. I met someone recently I last saw at school when we were 15, so 54 years ago. We had such a lot to catch up on! She found me on FB about 2 years ago.

Looks like your DL will be moving out soon GM you have gone above and beyond, I hope she appreciates you.

Wishing you all a happy Friday

Nannagarra Fri 02-Dec-22 07:29:08

Good morning from Sefton where I can hear the refuse collectors.
Love the holy family grandMattie.
Debadgering (hair dyeing), dust dispersal and a visit to the garden centre are on my agenda today. Whatever your plans, enjoy Friday.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 6° and damp. Still dark though. Ashcombe that sounds like a good walk. Urms I'm like you and Alexa is very good at playing what I like. I haven't quite got up the nerve to get rid of my CDs yet though. NannyJan that sounds cosy, sitting near a log fire.
Yesterday I visited my friend in hospital who had just received bad news about more cancer they have found. She's going to the Beatson today and is hopeful that treatment will be discussed.
Today I'm meeting friends for coffee. I'm picking up one lady who no longer drives because of macular degeneration and then I'll take her home again. After that dgs1 is coming for a sleepover. We are going to the Christmas tree lights ceremony in Polmont which is happening for the first time. There's to be music and stalls etc. Dgs1 is very excited about a chippy tea. Dd is coming too as she loves anything Christmas related. I'm looking forward to it all. Have a good day all.

Good morning everyone from Malaga, a warmish day is forecast at about 18º so that’ll do me. I keep looking at the weather at home in Inverness and thinking about how cold I’ll be next week 🥶
Well done with the walk on the downs Ash you deserved your fish and chips!
Sitting at the table near the log fire sounds lovely nannyjan the best place to be.
We had a lovely day yesterday thanks to Urms recommendations, a trip to Arroya and lunch down at the marina. Lots of nice shops to look around too. Today we’re walking the nativity scenes trail around Malaga, the tourist office publish a map of about 30 scenes around and about the city so we’ll see how many we can find and no doubt stop for a few coffees and tapas along the way. I’ve been putting a few more T-shirts back in the suitcase, they won’t be needed for a while again now. I’d best get a move on though as DH has just gone downstairs to the little bakery at the bottom of the apartment for breakfast croissants.
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

cornergran Fri 02-Dec-22 07:31:37

Morning Mick, morning All from a misty and far too cold corner of Somerset.

Yesterday went well enough, extra time on the journey because of the fog which accompanied us there and back. Why oh why don’t some drivers use lights in fog? Mr C wondered if they thought it would put their electricity bill up! We always share the driving, two hours each way yesterday, both tired when we made it home. An excellent lunch in the middle of a day helping with practical things and donning grandmattie’s reassuring hat. Our friend will have major, much overdue, work in her home in January and has understandable anxieties.

Out for coffee with friends this morning then to a new to us pub for lunch. We want to book a table somewhere new for a pre Christmas lunch with our granddaughters and have been recommended this place, of course a need to test it first. Any excuse grin. A parcel to post, stamps to buy and a visit to a couple of shops on the way home and that will be our day.

Take care everyone. Hope Friday is kind to us all.

Gwenisgreat1 Fri 02-Dec-22 07:32:36

Good morning all from Belton, Grantham. Woke with the SparrowFartthis morning as we get ready to leave. I worry about what I will leave behind! We had a lovely day in Lincoln yesterday- did not go to the Xmas Market, there wasn’t time, anyway there will be Xmas Markets in both Knaresborough and Harrogate when we get back.
Good luck with your DLs contract signing - my sister who recently moved, her buyers kept putting off signing the contract which was a bit mean. In Scotland it is so much easier, once your offer is accepted that’s it!
Have the best day possible.

Grandmabatty Fri 02-Dec-22 07:45:33

I hate to be the bearer of bad news Brook but -6 is forecast for the middle of the week and snow on Thursday and Friday!

Chrissielou Fri 02-Dec-22 07:46:34

Another wet, murky and chilly day in rural Oxfordshire. Fog didn't lift at all yesterday which made it dark very early. Today I break up for a week's leave, so looking forward to being off work with DH. Plan lots of walking and relaxing in front of a big log fire.
Going to buy Xmas tree with DS2 and family tomorrow, coffee and cake too no doubt and a few cuddles with GSs.
May you find some sunshine on this foggy day.

kittylester Fri 02-Dec-22 07:52:47

Good morning all from a North Leicestershire which is getting lighter but looking very misty. It's quite cold.

Our cleaner is coming later and a man to do a bit of electrical work. And, I have to ring a man about the fan oven in our range cooker - if I had not been in hospital we would have replaced the kitchen (and the cooker) by now.

Gala Fri 02-Dec-22 07:54:59

Good morning from a dry Sefton. It's still dark & looks cold. Passers by have their 'big coats' on.
Yesterday didn't pan out quite as planned but we managed to get as far as the library. I have to have books. Proper books, a kindle is just not the same. I need proper pages.
Zoom exercise class I first thing. Nothing else planned for the day. But I'm sure I'll find things that need doing.
Ah I see I nearly got the photo but right. Any one fancy a pair of these? (And a spare pair!)

Have a good day all. ((Hugs)) for those of you that may need one.

Pittcity Fri 02-Dec-22 08:00:22

Good morning from a grey, chilly Colchester.
I have to get the hoover out today, change the bed and get the weekend shopping.
DD1 is taking over from my sis to take my Dad to visit Mum in hospital.
Love to all 🦩 x

Jaxjacky Fri 02-Dec-22 08:00:38

Good morning from a chilly S Hampshire. Think your DL should get some worry beads gMattie keep her occupied.
Well done Ashcombe bet that walk did you the world of good, plus the f&c of course.
We have the grandchildren staying tonight, a pleasure as always, Rummikub might be played.
Enjoy your time off Chrissielou nice and relaxing.
Have your best day if you can 🦩🦩

ginny Fri 02-Dec-22 08:01:52

Good morning from La Coruna, our last port. Blue sky but a little chilly now we are further north.
We have an excursion this afternoon and a formal dinner this evening.
Last evening we watched a show put on by the ships crew including housekeeping, catering bar staff. What a wealth of talent hidden away behind the scenes.
Wishing you all a good day with one or two smiles along the way.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 02-Dec-22 08:02:25

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I will be listening to two lectures from the V&A this morning. Both on American 20th and 21st century interiors. I am making beef pie for dinner so will be doing the preparation for that after lunch. OH is collecting some paving slabs some time today and hopefully will get on with finishing off an area of the garden. I should get on with those Christmas cards which won’t write themselves! Have a good day everyone.

Gingster Fri 02-Dec-22 08:03:01

Good morning all and it’s 🥶 here in Essex.

Posted off cards yesterday as I don’t like them hanging around .

I’m off to Chelmsford today with a friend on the bus. We’ll have coffee and croissants when we arrive and have a mooch around, I don’t need much as I’ve done most of the Xmas gifts.

We’ll find somewhere for lunch (our usual place had closed down last time we went) and sit and chat for an hour or two so.
A nice relaxed day with a good friend.
I’m so grateful and appreciative of all my friends these days and feel so lucky . You have to work at friendships and I hate to lose any. It’s a two way thing and has to be nurtured! ❤️. Don’t wait for people to knock on your door - go out and see them. Make the effort!

Oh dear where did that all come from! 😂.

I hope you all have a ‘good’ day. 🎄

ShazzaKanazza Fri 02-Dec-22 08:03:01

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull.

This morning I have my zoom yoga and this afternoon picking up Grandson from school. I think he’s very excited about Christmas though he can’t tell us. Son has asked if we’ll drop him off to his mum as she has him overnight tonight.
I’m cooking lambs liver for tea so last night I searched back on the food forum when we were all discussing liver for your ideas of ways to cook it.

Have a good day everyone and special hugs to those coping with illness and stress🌻🌻
