Good morning Mick and everyone from a gloomy Lanzarote, it’s been raining steadily overnight, but the clouds are now clearing - although it’s getting a little cooler each day.
We have to be out of this house tomorrow morning and moving to a house down on the beach, so win, win, although packing up will be a pain, I have nothing else to do!
The photos show the next property to be more homely than this place, although due to all of the leather, chrome and glass this is, apparently, a luxury property. Give me squishy sofas any day.
Welcome to the new Grans yesterday .
I hope all who are poorly steadily improve
Hugs and prayers for those who are grieving.
Sun is out so I will take a coffee outside and find a dry chair by the pool.

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it's 7°

Yesterday turned out to be quite a stressful day.
I had decided to go to Paisley to organise a refund for a non delivery, from a well known retailer, which I have been chasing for the last month.
It turns out that the refund could only be done in the shop, since I ordered the goods in the shop, not online. 😡
My plan was then to leave my car, jump on the bus and find out why I hadn't received a text, notifying me my prescriptions were ready
However I wasn't feeling too good, so decided to phone first from my car, in case there was a problem.
There was indeed a problem, which the pharmacy failed to inform me of.
One of my heart medications, (the one to help prevent heart attacks) could not be sourced anywhere. Worryingly, I didn't have enough to get me over the weekend, due to the delay. My GP refuses to give me extra, in case such a scenario arises.
It was suggested that I phone my GP to ask for an alternative medication!!!

It went downhill after that!
Firstly, I couldn't get through to the surgery, Emergencies only said the recorded message. I hung on for ages, until someone eventually answered, only to be told that that particular medication wasn't on my repeat prescription!!! ^YÈS IT IS!
I emphasised that I have been on it for years. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
She insisted it wasn't and kept name other drugs on the repeat list. I could feel my heart rate increasing by the second.
Eventually, after I stressed the urgency, she agreed to get the surgery pharmacist to call me.
After calling back twice yesterday, I'm still waiting for a phone call from the surgery.

Not one to be fobbed off, I called the dispensing chemist again, spoke to another pharmacist, who told me that they may get a small delivery today, but she wouldn't know until late afternoon. No use to me.
I once again stressed the urgency and she suddenly managed to find fourteen pills to get me over the weekend!
DH, who was listening to the conversation and seeing how unwell I was, went and put his coat on and said he would drive me to collect them. 😍
I left DH to park the car in a tight spot and went to to collect the medication.
However, he never appeared: the key fob for his new car, had fallen apart. 😱
By the time I got home, I felt awful. A couple of hours of DHs TLC, a Turkish drama and a fair number of puffs of my heart spray, eventually settled things down.
I just want a quiet life.

I feel so much better today, thank goodness. That's the nature of my health, ups and downs. DH isn't golfing, so he will deal with housework, while I go and meet the workmen, who are repairing the church floor, before there is an accident.
I will come back and read your posts later.

It was good to see you posting yesterday Grey and Pitt, I hope your mum is more settled.

Have a good day folks and my thoughts are with all the poorly grans and their families..

Morning Mick and all

Gingster yes it’s chilly in S E Essex, enjoy Chelmsford. If you are just after a sandwich and cake lunch upstairs in Waterstones is really nice.

Not sure what is on the agenda for today, I should go to the gym but I had a terrible nights sleep so not really feeling it. We are meeting up with friends this evening at a Tapas restaurant in the next village, lovely food and friendly staff.

We are not going to choose our big tree this weekend, will leave it until midweek, shouldn’t be so busy, will not bring it in to decorate until next weekend.

Glad you enjoyed your walk Ashcombe , fingers crossed that your DL signs her contract grandMattie

Have a Good Friday folks 🤶🎄

Good morning from Durham – gloomy, and grey again. DD2’s hospital appointment wasn’t too good - she has an infection and more antibiotics. Unfortunately, due to my heavy cold, it turned into a full day and I overdid things helping her and fell asleep on the sofa last night. It was so comfortable that when I woke for the loo, I just returned to the sofa. I’ve cancelled my social plans for today to dose myself up with various meds, as I may have to collect DGS1 from school tonight.
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Greyduster Fri 02-Dec-22 08:26:02

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a cold grey South Yorkshire. Life proceeds at a snails pace. I was banished for a lie down yesterday afternoon while DD hoovered and washed all the floors downstairs. I could hear her moving furniture (I told her I don’t move furniture! She said that was pretty obvious!). Today apparently I am to have my first very short walk outside in the (very) fresh air. My nephew is coming with his son later to fit a second bannister rail on the stairs so I’ll feel a bit safer. I didn’t want one but have been overruled. Vegetarian chilli for tea.
Have the best day you can folks. Hope it’s more interesting than mine😁!

Taichinan Fri 02-Dec-22 08:35:55

Good morning all from the Angus coast where once again it's dank and grey. Almost sunrise, but I doubt it will penetrate the dark clouds.
Love those photos Gwen. I thought goodness, that looks so like Lincoln! I'm glad you enjoyed your visit - it's one of my favourite places. In fact I shall be there (or in one of the lovely villages that abound round there) for New Year with DS2 and family.
Lovely pic of your nativity scene grandmattie. I found a photo the other day of a knitted nativity scene made by a friend of mine who passed away early this year. Like you, she was always crafting away and making something - her work was beautiful and will live on in her memory.
I'm glad all went to plan yesterday Mick - you'll be glad when this is all behind you.
Today I am off to meet a friend for lunch at the Scottish Antiques Centre - very appropriate! It's a lovely place and although it's a few miles off the beaten track its restaurant is always busy. Half the outlet is given over to 'different' gifts of all sorts, not just antiques, so we will enjoy that and hopefully some more Christmas gifts will find their way into my basket!
I'm not sure I like that weather forecast Grandmabatty! But yesterday was the first day of meteorological winter, so what more can we expect. Roll on Spring!
Have a good day everyone x

Grammaretto Fri 02-Dec-22 08:43:07

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
Dull n damp here
Marydoll I feel my heart racing just reading your struggle to get your medication.
I think you should be writing dramas from a hotel room in Rome and not acting them out.
We potters set up our stall yesterday. One was very down due to her ds being seriously unwell.
So much sadness in the world.
I love your nativity gMattie and I hope there are no last minute dramas with DL and the papers are signed
Ash I am so glad you are up and about and Greyduster you are safely home.
Enjoy your Friday, friends.

Good morning Mick and everyone from gloomy damp Carlisle. Yesterday was the same all day and felt quite raw outside, so I stayed in. Plenty to do...ironed, admin-ed, online shopping and reading. Much the same today I suspect. Although the forecast is for some sunny periods, I have my doubts. I would like to get out in the garden as two little bareroot crabapple trees have arrived and are currently heeled in. The crabapple I planted in the spring has turned out to be not the variety I ordered and not suitable for crabapple jelly. However, Mr and Mrs Blackbird, absent since the summer, have put in an appearance and are demolishing the little fruits from first light, as well as the red berries on the pyracantha.

Have the best possible day all.

Grandmabatty Fri 02-Dec-22 08:49:50

Taichinan it is only a forecast and liable to change. Fingers crossed ☺️

EkwaNimitee Fri 02-Dec-22 08:56:32

Marydoll how very alarming for you. I hope that's a one off occurrence.
The state of the health services are indeed very worrying at the moment.

BlueSapphire Fri 02-Dec-22 09:06:49

Good morning everyone from another grey chilly day in Northampton, feeling very miserable and sorry for myself as I suffer from this blooming cough and cold. Staying in again today as I may then be better for tomorrow as I have plans for the weekend. One advantage of staying in is that I will have time to make a large curry in the slow cooker. I am also tempted to get the Christmas tree out from the garage, which may help lighten my mood.

I wrote all my Christmas cards yesterday, just have a note to write to the bereaved husband of my college friend. My friend passed away this time last year, so this year will be hard for him.

ginny, am so envious of you! Think I know what ship you are on - if I am right I was on her in the summer, and we were in La Coruna too! I have booked to go to Iceland on her sister ship next summer. I too enjoyed the crew show, such talent on board.

Must stir myself and get going, which is rather difficult at the moment with an attention-seeking cat on my lap. Wishing all a pleasant Friday.

luluaugust Fri 02-Dec-22 09:11:19

Good morning from a cloudy W Kent. Gardener coming first thing and I have to go to the supermarket. DH decided we could do with a lunch out for a change so we are off to a small restaurant we have found, driving through the countryside to get there.
Marydoll, so sorry what a runaround. Unfortunately DH had a similar experience last month.
Good wishes to all

Wyllow3 Fri 02-Dec-22 09:31:49

Morning from overcast but light S Yorks.

I'm about to head for the durham area, to see family over the weekend, driving conditions promising.

Sorry haven't had time to read much but Greyduster I see your DD's hoovering has reached the parts that rarely get visited in my house...

Best days all.

Beechnut Fri 02-Dec-22 09:37:09

Good Morning everyone from a cold Severnside.

I had a lie in this morning as I am having a home day. After eating my breakfast I was then checking out Decomesh and you tube to see how to use it.

I’ll go a make another cuppa and read all your news 😀🌺

Blossoming Fri 02-Dec-22 09:45:24

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s foggy in this corner of Lancashire, 4°C.

Hope you’ve been reassured by the nurses Mick and good luck with the fields test.

I too have a complicated prescription GrandMattie and my new glasses were horrendously expensive. They have made such an enormous difference to my vision and are so comfortable, so worth every penny really. My ophthalmology appointment is next Friday so hoping that will bring further improvement.

No real plans for today, I’ve showered and now drinking a mug of tea while I catch up with the thread. I don’t think we’ll be going out today.

Have a good day all.

grandMattie Fri 02-Dec-22 09:59:40

Oh, gala, the shoes are perfect. 😂😂😂 Sadly, with my new orthotics, I just can’t hav3 a pair. What a shame! 😢

Kalu Fri 02-Dec-22 10:33:48

Good morning all from a damp again day in Glasgow. My enthusiasm to do much is waning fast as my joy of,pottering around the garden is almost non existant at this time of year and I need the therapeutic feeling it gives me. I must get myself out today as a small shop is required after which, a coffee visit to DD1’s then a look in at TKMaxx.

Pleased to hear you are home again Grey, I wish you a speedy recovery.
What an unnecessary stressful day for you yesterday Marydoll. Whatever needs done apart from your medical care can wait. Looking after yourself is your priority, please don’t overdo too much and rest up.
Hoping today is a brighter one for you kitty
Much love and strength Bags.

Best wishes to all for a good day and a brighter day also for those struggling on through worrying times.

Auntieflo Fri 02-Dec-22 11:05:39

Good morning Mick, Annie and all. We can see across the road, as the fog and misty murk has disappeared.
I was so cold yesterday, in spite if the house being warm, that I took to wearing my Hotter Pixie boots as slippers. So cosy and warm.
After an unexpected day in hospital on Tuesday, I am beginning to feel a lot better this morning and managed a Burford brown egg for breakfast. But then DH was ill in the night, so we may have succumbed to a bug that's going round.
Must go back and read how everyone is doing. Best wishes to all the poorly ones.
Have as good a day as you can, one and all.

hollysteers Fri 02-Dec-22 11:23:41

Good morning Mick and all from a dull northwest coast.
I managed to host the bookgroup meeting here whilst feeling rough and a voice which made me sound like an old sailor/heavy smoker. It had been cancelled and rearranged so many times, I felt I couldn’t cancel again. Lots of interesting chat and my DS and GF came too and had read the book, which was nice.
They are staying over and my head tells me I have partaken of wine and more than two…
Haven’t read through yet, but thoughts as always to anyone with troubles.
Pic of cheese and bits before it was demolished.

Grammaretto Fri 02-Dec-22 11:41:07

Auntieflo I don't blame you putting your boots on. I often wear my warm coat indoors to save jacking up the heating through the day. Habits of a lifetime.grin

Susan56 Fri 02-Dec-22 13:33:01

Good afternoon from North Wales.

We were lying in bed this morning when we got a text from DD asking if we would go over to hers as she unexpectedly had a meeting 60 miles away.A mad scramble and we were her an hour and a half after getting the call!

Took DGD to school and saw son in laws nephew who obviously hadn’t got on the school bus.Popped in to tell his grandparents and ended up staying for two hours as they were feeling upset.Hopefully they felt better after talking to me.

Back at DD’s for lunch then school pick up later.

Once we are home I will do the jobs that were on my list when I thought H was coming to ours today.

Will be glad to see my bed tonight!

Good to see Auntieflo and Grey duster are feeling better.

Maria59 Fri 02-Dec-22 13:44:10

Taichinan I love that antique centre and can highly recommend the restaurant

Nannagarra Fri 02-Dec-22 14:11:05

Hollysteers - help yourself to Brie, grapes, crackers…and…

a tenner or two?

That’s some book club buffet!

Haha, they are paper napkins and just look like £10 notes😁
