Wishing you all a Merry Christmas . We celebrate Christmas here in Germany on Christmas Eve . The little grandchildren are getting excited ! For me it is a blessing that they only live a 5 minutes walk from me .

soop Sat 24-Dec-22 15:04:57

Nannagarra WELCOME! You are now one of us lot. flowers

Aldom Your Christmas message reflects my personal feelings. I cannot fully enjoy all the hubbub because I'm well aware of the countless people who will have neither family, a home or gifts. It's part of my bah humbug character. sad

Hiraeth How wonderful that you live within a short distance of your home. Wow! Our grandchildren live several hundred miles away. We shall hear their voices, thanks to the telephone.

Whilst we’re here with family I’m very aware of others with less love, more worries and sadness.
Thinking specifically of Blossoming and Susan56.
May I wish you all a peaceful Christmas x

My thoughts too are with Susan and her wee grandson.

Sending you all the very best wishes and hoping every one has a good Christmas while my thoughts too are in Ukraine and the streets of Britain where too many people live.

kittylester Sat 24-Dec-22 17:35:25

I echo what dragonfly says. Special thoughts with susan, hello and blossoming. And anyone else with worries or pain.

And, thank you to soop and all kitchen posters who are so kind and supportive.

I've been missing in action for a busy week or two but I just wanted to pop in and wish all kitchen friends a very Merry Christmas. Special thoughts to everyone going through challenging times and thanks to our dear soop for such a wonderful and supportive place the kitchen is. I've left a couple of bottles of fizz and mince pies if anyone is in the mood 🍾🥂

Just popping in to wish all in the kitchen a peaceful and happy Christmas. Thinking of those who are anxious and worried and those who have lost loved ones this year. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. xx

‘Evening All’

Home after Christmas Eve visits, then to a buzzy bar up the road. We got our drinks & a small table became available! Perfect. At our age we said it’s come full circle. No kids to sit & watch a Christmas film with then parcels to set out. We’ve been there, done it. Now we were able to join the revellers for an hour, people watching and enjoying the Christmas atmosphere!

Home to a simple but delicious plate of warm smoked salmon with chilli glaze on toast. Tomorrow will be a feast.

Thinking tonight of Baggs Blossoming and SueDonim.

Christmas Day is always a sad or anxious day for some. It will trundle along, with or without our input.

The Boy Wonder and L’il Miss will be watching NORAD ‘Santa Tracking’ before bed tonight. It’s magical for them. L’il Miss said she’ll ring me in the morning “when he’s been”.
❤️

Urmstongran Sat 24-Dec-22 19:00:28

And Susan56. I hope your little grandson is showing improvement tonight? It’s been a worrying time for your family. Everything else pales into insignificance really. x

BlueBalou Sat 24-Dec-22 19:27:21

Just popping in to wish you all a very happy Christmas and I hope it brings peace and comfort to everyone who needs it.
An extra hug and best wishes to Mr&MrsSoop, without whom this haven would never have been created 🤗 x

Grandmabatty Sat 24-Dec-22 19:57:41

I wish all kitcheners a happy, peaceful Christmas with special wishes for Blossoming, Baggs, Suedonim and Susan. Like many of you, I am grateful for the kindnesses I have been shown here and I thank Soop for her kitchen. A Merry Christmas to you all.

Blossoming Sat 24-Dec-22 21:06:27

Good evening dear Kitcheners. My youngest niece has been very ill, loss of balance, legs increasingly weak, joint pain, headaches, vision problems etc. She has had numerous tests and scans and is now back at home. The likely diagnosis is MS, her spine is affected, but will need further tests in the new year. She is 28 in January, settled down with a lovely man, a good job and a nice home.

All I can think of is my poor niece going through all the things I went through years ago, though from a different cause, and I keep crying for her.

I won’t be back in here for a little while, so I wish you all a peaceful and joyous Christmas.

Jaxjacky Sat 24-Dec-22 21:54:55

You will be missed Blossoming but I understand your need to divert your time and energy.
May I wish you a gentle time ahead, with strength, I hope we see you back, when you’re ready x

brook2704 Sat 24-Dec-22 22:15:58

Just to second what Jax has already said so we’ll Blossoming, we will definitely miss you here but understand
I hope your niece has the best possible outcome from her tests, what a worrying time for all the family
Sending ❤️
