All good pals and jolly good company.
A warm welcome to you all. Please make yourselves comfortable.

Oh that swim gear looks like you mean business Baggs!
Happy swimming.
Great news Urms so much hoping your DSF is over the worst now and good that he felt up to the M& shop too
Baggs A very well done for going swimming again if it’s been a long time - The swim gear looks great!
Good to hear that things are being sorted, Urms. But Merlot in the afternoon! I expect it’s 6 pm somewhere
I had an enjoyable WI Coffee Social today. Around a dozen of us. Someone a few doors along from me is having a strange extension which includes a sort of large black cube half way up the side of the house. I said I would find out about it. All the details were on the website of the local council’s planning application section, where apparently this weird thing was approved. A few years ago local residents would be asked for their opinion, but not any more. Bizarre. I emailed the WI ladies with my findings. One of them replied that all she could say was ‘blimey!’ I was supposed to go to a Local History Society talk this evening but I’ve decided to listen to a talk on the history of London’s museums instead. Have a good evening.
Oh you all sound so efficient and organised. I’ve just got in from a return visit to the Dermatologist and I’m feeling ancient. I was wet and cold and juggling with steamed up glasses because of the necessary mask in the hospital ( Do you have to do that in UK?) combined with a stick, my file and a shoulder bag and just didn’t seem to have enough hands. Never mind I’ve relaaxed in here and have time to read your posts. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for Urmstongran’s stepfather and hope they all get a good nights sleep tonight. I hope the Vitamin D tablets help Nanny Topsy and Grandmabatty your posts are always come over with such good humour and love for your rascal of a grandson.
No masks requested at Wythenshawe Hospital dusty for patients. One or two chose to wear them. Staff wore them.
LLFL “It’s 5 o’clock Somewhere” 🎵 🎶
And - hopefully - I’ll be at LWW next Tuesday at 2pm! 🍷🤞
Good evening Kitcheners. Dusty angel we have to wear masks in our local hospital, doctor's surgery and chiropodist. Ladyleftfieldlover that sounds very ...modern. I'm not sure I would like to live in it. Brook I'm always impressed with your fitness regime. Oreo thank you and the others for the appreciation of my grandsons.
Today I had an early haircut. My hairdresser is a lovely man. I have very little hair left and he tries his best to style it. He also takes money of my bill very tactfully. I then attempted to visit mum again, however she had decided to go back to bed, like last week. Clearly she doesn't want to see me! The rest of the day I did very little. I'm probably recovering from the ten thousand steps I did yesterday, up and down the blooming hall, following the boys. I had the rest of the chicken curry for an early dinner, organised a Tesco delivery, phoned a friend and lay on the couch watching old films and napping. I hope you are ok Soop. You are having a lot to contend with just now. Have a good evening Kitcheners.
You “guys” make me tired just reading your activities.
I have continued to cough my way though the day, fortunately both courses were on Zoom so I just “muted” myself so that I could cough in peace.
I’ve cancelled going to tomorrows Arts Society meeting and lecture - not the place to struggle with a crashing headache and a cough - and given the demographic of the membership it would be irresponsible to expose others to whatever bug I’ve got.
An LFT at 4.30 this morning came up negative - how much worse do you have to feel, I wonder?
Enough moaning, I’ll get back to my Benylin and Lockets😷
‘Moan’ away Maw. It’s good to vent. And get some sympathy too. Hope you feel better in the morning. This ‘bug’ going around seems to floor those who get it.
I’m pleased that gel seems to be working Urms and you’re stepfather was happy to go shopping. Good reminder for Vitamin D thank you ladies, I’ve been remiss putting drops on my breakfast.
It absolutely poured here this afternoon, thunder and lightning too, tomorrow doesn’t look good, but I must go out, library, butchers and farm shop. Imogen isn’t happy as she has a cookery assessment at school next week, with two strapped fingers, could be tricky. We got our energy bill online for the last month earlier, triple the amount from last year, very scary for those struggling.
Have a pleasant evening all x
I prescribe a hot toddy for you, Maw, and don’t slack on the whiskey!
A cautious 👍 to your SF’s better health, Urms.
Lots of busy people on here today. We had charge of GD after school today. The instructions were to give her a snack and get her to her dancing class. Turned up with ten minutes to spare, only to be told the class had already begun and she was 15 mins late. It turned out the time had been changed but no one had thought to amend the website. 🤦♀️ I guess we know now for next week. 🤔
Ds1 has been given his schedule for his chemo. It begins in two weeks. He’s to have six rounds of infusions and eight of oral meds, which is a little less than he was originally told, so that’s good. It’s going to be a hard six months, though.
The weather here is vile, I can hear the rain battering on the windows. Early bed, I think!
TOYA. xxx
Oh SueD I sincerely hope your son responds really well to his treatment. This must be such an anxious time for you all.
Sending much love and hugs SueDonim for your son’s treatment and a full recovery. You have a hard journey ahead of you but I’m sure you have love and courage aplenty to face it with him.
I have now stocked up on Benylin, Covonia, Night Nurse and cancelled my plans for tomorrow- and I’ll stay in bed as long as Rosie lets me!
With warmest wishes to all of you with sorrows, worries or health issues- you Kitcheners are a wonderful source of support 💕
Hoping the treatment for your DS goes as well as possible SueD with the very best possible outcome, sending 💐
Let’s hope you’re feeling much better tomorrow maw good to hear you’re planning a rest day, hope Rosie cooperates!
Tough times ahead SueD we’re with you.❤️
Hugs for Sued. DD1 is doing chemo similarly. Not sure for how long but she gets 4-weekly check-ups.
Meanwhile, it turns out you can strain your hands (somewhat arthritic ones admittedly) while swimming! I didn't even swim very much! Keeping fingers together and cupping hands slightly, as one's supposed to while doing breaststroke, was clearly a bit of a shock for my out of practice swimming hands. Hey ho.
Did a few strokes of backstroke too but my shoulders said Nope! So it's small steps breakng my body back into it over the coming weeks. 🏊♀️🏊♀️
Love to all x
SueDonim everything crossed for your DS as he starts on Chemo, (((hugs))) to you, no matter how old our children are they are forever our babies.
Baggs (((hugs))) for you also, it’s so difficult when our babies are poorly and we feel helpless, hoping your DD has little side effects from her chemo.
Baggs I honestly thought that it was you in the photograph.
You lovely lot have been far too busy. I'm having trouble playing catch-up.
Yesterday was a proper mish-mash of buggerations. The worst being a major soma leak. I shall not horrify you with the details. Mr Soop took charge. He kept calm and told me that he would "sort" matters. Bless him. He is always there throughout the good, bad and frankly horrifying situations.
I'm about to have lunch After which, I shall return. Please, if you can, slow down a wee pace. I've more than enough news to respond to.
Oh Soop. 💐 My friend is new to a stoma and has been keeping me posted as to the 'delights' of managing it.
I am back with you in our kitchen. I shall now read through all your messages. So, here goes...
Llfl Some folk have a strange liking for weird architectural features. Hey ho! As Baggs would say.
Grandmabatty The hernia makes the stoma bag a trifle unstable, especially when I bend and stretch. We had a phone call today from the company making the support belt. On Tuesday, the stoma nurse is to contact me. There is seldom a moment when I'm not aware of the appendage.
SueD and Baggs gentle hugs for you both as your son and daughter during their chemo treatment.
Maw The best place for you right now is in a cosy bed (if Rosie permits) with warm drinks and a good book. Wishing you a speedy recovery. There are some very nasty bugs around. Listen to your body, and relax.
Jax Surely the teachers will take into account Imogen's injury.
We had torrential rain accompanied by thunder claps yesterday afternoon. Thankfully, the computer was not affected. We have ordered a gadget that helps to divert electrical surges, thus protecting our computer access.
Urms better news regarding your stepfather's frequent nose bleeds. Let us hope that the gel will enable him to keep them at bay.
Right! Wash the dishes. Make a brew. Watch the snooker. Think about the pet portrait that I hope to sketch tomorrow. Seems like a plan.
Hello kitchen pals, a cold grey day here in Inverness, I’ve been pottering out in the garden in between the showers as I like the fresh air better than staying in.
Sorry to hear about the stoma troubles soop what a buggeration as you’d say. Good on mr soop for helping though. Hope you’re enjoying watching the snooker
Well done with your swimming Baggs - I presume it’s indoor and not one of the icy lochs or sea?
brook I cannot stand upright in the gale that is blowing in Kintyre. Yes, the snooker was brilliant. Mark Williams beat Ronnie. Now I must catch up with more pressing domestic issues.
I have also sketched the pet portrait. Tomorrow, I shall apply the first water colour wash. Wish me well. Please.
Goodnight dear Kitcheners. Thank you for your company. Stay safe and warm.

‘Evening All’
It’s dry here in south Manchester, although we had a light shower this afternoon. I really feel for those in flood areas where the rain has been relentless. Himself is out. He’s taken the Boy Wonder over to his football practice. Somewhere near the Trafford Centre. Outdoors so he has on his Big Coat as he stands for the hour. At least there’s a small cafe where he can grab a coffee while he watches. He loves it. Especially the drive home, discussing tactics with his boy.
💙
He used to be a netball coach (we have 2 girls!) and coached some of the ladies back in the day at Club level who now play for England. He likes to watch the occasional match on tv and ‘see how they’re doing’. As he says ‘sport is sport’.
😁
My stepfather’s had a good day again. When I rang him today the district nurse was over, giving his vit B12 injection. Result! He is to have these every other day for the next two weeks.
Tomorrow Himself is hoping (all being well tonight) to book flights for Saturday to Málaga. Just for 10 days. I can’t wait! Mr. O’Leary flies from Terminal 3 where the shops are better. I’ll be disappearing into ‘Next’ at the airport...
