Having avoided it for three years, I've finally succumbed to covid. I'm feeling really unwell and have been vomiting too which is horrible. I can't face food at all. It won't do me any harm to go without meals but it's the constant nausea which is wearing. Soop I hope you can get sorted out soon. Have a good evening from a poorly Batty.

Good evening lovely Kitcheners.
Son and grandson have just gone home so a few minutes sit then I’m going to make some overnight oats for breakfast tomorrow.

Thankyou for your compliments about my sparkly clothes.
Urms your nails look lovely.

Sorry to hear there is some illness and worries in your posts. 💐
Aww dear Soop sorry to hear you are still in some discomfort 💐

My son in China thinks he has covid now Maw he’s the last one in the family to get it. Now they’ve relaxed restrictions it’s racing through the population. He’s sleeping separately from pregnant DIL and keeping his distance. They have had their jabs. Fingers crossed he gets through it ok🤞He’s told me not to worry.

Brook my grandson is 8 on the 28th so they are close in age.
My DD and family are on their way to Morocco well we think they are. They boarded and the pilot was taken ill. There was a huge delay obviously. D sent a pic of Gd1 in the pilots seat with an officers cap on clutching the wheel. So cute. They must have been letting kids go up for photos to pass the time.

Thinking of you all tonight. Must start chopping pineapple. Speak soon🌻

ShazzaKanazza Thu 15-Dec-22 18:59:09

Grandmabatty so sorry to hear you have it too 💐 x

brook2704 Thu 15-Dec-22 19:01:13

Oh grandmabatty so sorry to hear that news! Look after yourself and hope you’re much better soo, take care
Also to your DD maw hope she’s not too poorly
A perfect present for a 1 year old SueD he’ll love it I’m sure
The cake looks so good dusty I’m hoping my DD1 has made cone for me this year but I don’t like to ask!

‘Evening All’

Love the tiny lit up Christmas tree Maw (and your reflection just about visible in the window behind it!) 😁

soop I really hope you get some practical help and much needed support tomorrow afternoon. Life must be a challenge for you both at present dear lady. You must feel totally drained. Pain is so debilitating as you can’t focus on anything else until it’s gone.

I’ve had a very relaxing day.
#lazygran
Wrapped all the Christmas presents, made a pan of corned beef hash (there’ll be plenty of rich food soon enough), messaged a few friends and watched some more of ‘The White Lotus’ on Sky Atlantic (I’ve been addicted!).

Tomorrow I’ll talk to Himself. Probably. 🤣

brook2704 Thu 15-Dec-22 19:08:51

And hoping your son in China isn’t too poorly Shazza - gosh there’s a lot about just now. Also hoping your family get away on their hols soon. DGD is growing up too fast, I don’t know where the 8 years have gone, I remember quite clearly the day she was born. Hope your DGS enjoys his birthday on the 28th too x

Urmstongran Thu 15-Dec-22 19:14:56

Oh GrandmaBatty I’m so sorry you’ve caught Covid. You have the nausea with it which must really be awful. I know you’ll be sensible - keeping warm, extra fluids, resting up, paracetamol etc. I hope it passes quickly and you can sleep well to get well soon. x

Good evening lovely Kitcheners. Still no more snow here but the roads and pavements are treacherous with ice. It hasn’t been above freezing for 2 days now. So sorry you’re still suffering Soop and you sound proper poorly Grandmabatty. Mr. B and I have avoided Covid so far, hope we continue that way.
I’m going out tomorrow, to the hairdresser. Mr.B will drive me so not much walking involved. I manage to fall when it isn’t icy so will need to be extra careful.

Blossoming Thu 15-Dec-22 19:18:25

Love your Christmas tree Maw, hope your D is better soon x

brook2704

Hope you don’t get snowed in baggs hoping you keep warm. A good idea to move the car though. DH couldn’t get our car out of the garage this morning without a big snow shovel!
Sending ❤️ to you, your DD and her family, I often think of you too

Thank you, brook ❤️ DD is having the last of her radiotherapy zappings today. She will be glad to be finished with all the waiting around for the hospital taxis.

Then it's a case of waiting to see what's next and if the treatment has done what it was hoped it would do 🤞

Meanwhile youngest DD and boyfriend are concentrating on building a gingerbread house to take down to his family in Cambridgeshire. They each have a side and an end 😄 #GrownUpKids

Blossoming Fri 16-Dec-22 10:57:09

Baggs hope the treatment has been successful and your DD and family can enjoy Christmas together. Love the gingerbread house 🏡

Hellogirl1 Fri 16-Dec-22 11:35:00

I hope the treatment has been a success Baggs. Wishing a Happy Christmas to you and yours.

annsixty Fri 16-Dec-22 12:03:49

A late good morning everyone.
So sorry you have Covid Grandmabatty and hope you are recovered for the festivities otherwise I see two very disappointed little boys.
The same to your D Maw.

I haven’t succumbed to anything specific, I am just very tired and weary (and old).
My family are stressing me beyond belief really but nothing I can do or talk about.
I went out for lunch yesterday and came home, fell asleep on the sofa until 4:45 and them just came to bed , I am still here after cancelling an outing this afternoon.

Soop my sympathy about your hernia, just when you were feeling so chipper after losing the prolapse.
My friend’s H who had bowel cancer has a huge one, his wife says he looks very pregnant.
The surgeon says he would operate in most cases but it is too close to his previous extensive surgery so he just has to live with it. He can only wear jogging bottoms “slung under” the site
He now has very bad cellulitis currently being dressed daily.
In his words existing not living.
*Baggs” my good wishes for your DD continue .
The journey she has been making daily must have been horrible this last week or so.
To everyone else I send best wishes, just too many to remember, have the best weekend you can.

SueDonim Fri 16-Dec-22 12:13:23

I so hope the treatment helps your dd, Baggs. flowers. I love your youngest DD’s gingerbread house. My youngest dd says she is permanently traumatised by an attempt to make one, some years ago. To say it was a flat-pack house is pretty close to the truth! 😂

We have several inches of snow here but the temp has gone above zero for the first time in a week. Not sure if we’ll go out, though GD is supposed to be coming for a sleepover tonight. Will see what her mum says.

I’m sorry for those suffering Covid. I think it really is taking out the last remaining folk who’ve managed to avoid it until now. flowers

brook2704 Fri 16-Dec-22 13:55:10

Sending ❤️ for your DD baggs, well done to her for getting through the treatment. Hoping for the best possible outcome
I’m just home after a busy morning at the gym. Well busy in so far as lots of talking, exchanging cards and laughter but not that much actual work. I skipped the dip in the pool today as I need to come home to get myself glammed up for DGDs birthday meal tonight.
annsixty sending you positive vibes and a big gentle hug, and there’s one for you too soop
grandmabatty get better soon please
Love the festive gingerbread house, thanks for the pictures baggs
My growing icicles on the conservatory roof are coming along nicely!

Yiayia4 Fri 16-Dec-22 14:53:21

Good afternoon Kitcheners.
I hope your DD’s treatment is a success Baggs.
I do hope your hernia can be sorted Soop.🌹
Get well soon and rest Grandmabatty.💐
Thinking of you Anne.🌹

I’m still feeling grim.I’ve done 3 tests not covid so must be a virus.Cold horrible cough and blocked sinuses!!
It so cold still, keep warm everyone and have a pleasant evening.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 16-Dec-22 14:57:59

Hello everyone and commiserations to those Grans not feeling their best. I have just finished my day in the kitchen apart from clearing up! 4 dozen sausage rolls, lemon ice cream, chestnut stuffing and pork/apple stuffing. All destined for the freezer. I hope Soop is feeling better today.

Jaxjacky Fri 16-Dec-22 15:06:20

I’d be petrified moving that house Baggs, I hope your daughter has the best result.
A down day ann let’s hope tomorrow is better.
At the last minute I decided a ‘new’ Christmas jumper was in order. Our parish council have a rail of donated ones to raise funds for the local hospice, bingo!

Blossoming Fri 16-Dec-22 15:30:51

I’m back from the hairdresser with beautifully tidy hair. It grows at a tremendous rate, even in winter! Now wrapped up in my favourite blanket for the rest of the afternoon.

Lots of love to you Hellogirl and Baggs. Hope you feel better soon Anne, in the meantime stay warm and try to rest.

I love the sound of your cooking LadyLFL! Also loving the Christmas jumper Jax, I must check if any of our local charities have something similar.

Baggs Fri 16-Dec-22 15:36:07

Jax, I've given them an old baking tin to sit the house in and then we managed to find a box just the right size and some bubble wrap to tuck it in. We lowered the house-laden tin into the box using two silk scarves.

Jaxjacky Fri 16-Dec-22 16:08:54

Crumbs baggs hope it comes out intact 🤞

soop Fri 16-Dec-22 16:35:18

maw Your tree is exactly what I would like this year. How lovely it looks.

dustyangel Your cake looks perfect. The village schoolchildren make a small cake for all elderly members of the community. It is gratefully received and delicious to eat.

SueD Any toy that makes plenty of noise is always a hit with children. Fisher Price never fail to please.
We both went to the dentist yesterday, Arrrgh! However, we were no sooner in the chair than out again. No attention required. Six months until our next appointments. Yay!

dustyangel Fri 16-Dec-22 16:42:02

Baggs in case you didn’t know the rear seat well of the car is supposed to be the safest place to transport an iced cake, I used to do Wedding Cakes. Good luck to them with the transportation.
Good luck as well and keeping fingers crossed for your older daughters treatment. 🤞

dustyangel Fri 16-Dec-22 16:51:40

Urms I mentioned my DDs nails and she’s sent me a photo of them.
* Grandmabatty* I’m so sorry you’ve gone down with covid.I hope you make a quick recovery.

Much love to everyone including some I know I meant to mention, my brain is even more addled than usual from spending most of the afternoon on the phone to the bank to sort out a simple transfer. 😬

soop Fri 16-Dec-22 17:03:50

Grandmabatty So sorry to hear that you are poorly and feeling miserable with it. Listen to your body. Keep up with plenty of fluids and stay warm. flowers

Urms Yes! I may suggest that we have corned beef hash. Thank you for bringing it to mind.
You are a very kind and caring lady. smile

Baggs The gingerbread house is a work of art. Brilliant!
Like so many Gransnetters, I am happy to know that your daughter's latest latest sessions of radiotherapy have been completed. She deserves to spend a relaxing festive season with her family. flowers

Yia You are also in our get well soon thoughts. Bless you.

annsixty Us lot care that you are feeling as you do. If it helps, please keep sharing.

A little news to share with you. Call came through much earlier than anticipated. We had to measure various parts of my anatomy. Garment to support hernia will be here sometime between six and eight weeks!
Had to see GP. First time he had seen the "whopper". He gave us plenty of good advice. He then told us that the x-ray result on the knee had confirmed that it needs replacing. He has therefore notified the orthopedic surgeon. In the meantime, I have gell and pain killers. Could be a long wait before I get an appointment. Onwards and whatever...

Time for a warming brew. I shall raise a glass of cheer to you all at the magical hour of 8:00.

Back again tomorrow. smile moon

brook They be magnificent icicles. grin

Jax I have festive jumper envy. Love yours. smile
