Good morning from a sunny Co Armagh, no sign of a thaw ,
I was late with the porridge oats for the Robin and he didn’t like that the blackbird got in before him !
Lovely singing from local school children at our village club session , last of the year , we then had yummy lunch in the pub next door
Nothing planned for today

Thank you all once again for your kind and supportive comments. They really help so much.We are lucky with this thread of Mick’s aren’t we.

Yes Gingster. The bungalow is to the back and side of us.From our bedroom windows the back of the property looks perfect but the front is destroyed.

It has been a very difficult 24 hours and harrowing for the people who live opposite. Our elderly neighbour has just phoned and is very upset so I will pop round there now.

Good morning all from Glasgow. I haven’t checked the temperature, just know we have a hard frost again, clear blue skies and sunshine making everything in the garden sparkle, very pretty sight….from inside a cosy house.

As much as we would prefer to stay indoors, DH has an appointment with his speech therapist, unfortunately not local and a trip into Glasgow is required.
If ever I needed proof of being on GN far too much, after sorting out my meds at our surgery, I requested an appointment for ‘DH’, not husband to have his bloods done! The receptionist asked me to repeat who the appointment was for!! 🤦🏼‍♀️😂. The car park behind our pharmacy was like an ice rink yesterday, I waited until a space was clear near a thawed area, another fracture is the last thing I need. .

DD1 received a message from GD2 yesterday, the weather is cold enough to freeze pipes - in England-, I think our school may close down today! Nice try L, but mummy did buy it.

What a terrible tragedy Susan
I do envy you having Dollie Cuddled up beside you Marydoll, the school run in winter, not so much. A friend and I were talking about when we did school runs, scraping icy car windows etc., something we took in our stride but the thought of doing it now…thank god we don’t have to anymore.
Drive safely.

Best wishes for a good day ahead to all and kind wishes to those with whatever struggles and worries you have to bare.

Morning all

Late to the party this morning, I won’t bore you all with the details.

It’s -2° here in my little corner of the world, I have to go to Mayflower Retail Park, definitely last shop for gifts …

Have only skimmed the thread, Susan what dreadful news regarding your neighbours housefire. grandMattie you truly are a saint on earth, I think my new mantra will be be more like grandMattie

AS 3 is really poorly with strepA, as are his wife and two boys. GP prescribed antibiotics immediately so we are hopeful they will kick in soon. It’s the youngest ones 13th birthday tomorrow, we are keeping everything crossed he is much improved by then.

Have a good day folks (I will now read all your news properly)

Good afternoon,
Such awful news Susan56. You must all be very shocked and saddened. There seems so much tragedy about at the moment, and it always seems so much worse at this time of the year (though of course any time of year is tragic).
It’s another very frosty and cold day here, but the sky is blue and the sun is shining.
A quiet day planned, just a spot of ironing later.
Hope all the poorlies soon see improvement.

GG very worrying news for you.
DIL said yesterday that they had an email from school informing that there were cases of Strep A, scarlet fever and chicken pox in Dollie's school.
Dollie was a sheilder, so we are really concerned.
