I used to find him mildly amusing and sometimes offensive, but his latest rant in the pages of The Sun is just sick beyond belief.

I find it difficult to believe, in one way, that people can say he's only doing it to annoy people, aren't we allowed to say anything now? In another way, I'm not surprised at all.

Of course he's only saying it to wind people up. Having a sad little schoolboy mind is what makes him popular with other people with sad little schoolboy (girl?) minds who think they are having their rights to free speech taken away.

Here's the thing, for those who purport not to see the problem.

He said that he hates the King's daughter-in-law more than he hates our most reviled living serial killer. He said he wants to see her paraded naked through the streets and pelted with excrement. The thought keeps him awake at night.

Whether that's true or not, he wrote it. Because he thinks it will get him the support of all the other weirdos and make him lots of money. He's not normal, not by any measure.

Forsythia

I don’t think it’s excitement, surely?

Oh dear - I’m sure you get the drift.

My I-pad always thinks it knows best.

Forsythia Sun 18-Dec-22 09:35:46

He was hardly her companion. They were both guests at the same party.

Not read his article so not qualified to comment on it but re farming U think you will find his Clarksons farm programme went down a storm with our country's farmers.Including James Rebanks a Cumbria farmer whose books and articles tell it as it is for modern farmers who also care about nature and the environment. Its way more popular than Countryfile with them.I wasn't going to watch because of his provocative style but actually loved it .And learnt a lot.

Whitewavemark2 Sun 18-Dec-22 09:37:29

My point about the late Queen stands.

She was much more careful.

Washerwoman Sun 18-Dec-22 09:37:32

Not surecwhy I typed U
Sorry !

volver Sun 18-Dec-22 09:39:20

Just because he made a nice film about tractors and sheep, that doesn't excuse him being a d**k.

I may have said that already. 🤪

Iam64 Sun 18-Dec-22 09:40:34

You’re welcome to say it again volver.
Washerwoman, please read the article and comment on thst

Kandinsky Sun 18-Dec-22 09:44:48

I don’t agree with what he said about MM ( although I wish she’d bore off and live the private life she so desires. For someone who wants privacy she don’t half go on…..& on…& on )

But, I’ve seen worse written about Nigel Farage, far far worse.
But he’s fair game because he’s a right wing, white man.
Sorry, but you can’t have it both ways.

volver Sun 18-Dec-22 09:47:31

Has anybody said they hate Farage more than Ian Brady? Or Fred West?

Has anybody said they want to see him paraded naked though the streets of Britain, and the thought keeps them awake at night? If so, they're a bit odd too, but not for the reasons you think.

Aveline Sun 18-Dec-22 09:49:37

For goodness sake stop reacting. You're giving him exactly what he wants!
Try 'grey rocking' if you must react at all.

volver Sun 18-Dec-22 09:52:48

Wait, what?

That's what many of us have been saying about the overwhelming compulsion some GN members have to comment negatively on the lives of M&H. Stop commenting, stop talking about them, that's what they want.

Talk about double standards? Good Lord. 😡

So why doesn't he stick to that and to hosting Who Wants to be Millionaire (at which I have to say, he's good).

The things he has said and have been published are truly despicable.

He's like a split personality.
Really weird.

Clarkson’s Farm has as much to do with actual farming as Postman Pat has to do with Royal Mail!

You sure about that? I mean absolutely informed?

Yes.

Blossoming Sun 18-Dec-22 10:34:12

So it’s just Clarkson being a lad is it? Bit of bants?

It’s not acceptable. It’s vile and sickening.

Aveline Sun 18-Dec-22 10:39:41

But volver I'm not talking about them. No point.

Glorianny Sun 18-Dec-22 11:07:36

I think comedians and other people are entitled sometimes to make what would be considered unacceptable comments to draw attention to something and make people think differently about something. The problem with JC attacking MM is that he isn't bringing anything new to the subject, he is basically rehashing some of the things that have been said on social media about her, things that people actually meant. So Jeremy may think he's being wildly funny by being deliberately offensive, the problem is he isn't. He is just jumping on a bandwagon where far more offensive and destructive comments including murder have been made. He's an old man unaware of what has already happened and thinking he is being controversial when (as has been said) he's just being a d**k.

volver Sun 18-Dec-22 11:11:20

Aveline

But volver I'm not talking about them. No point.

Agreed Aveline.

So I'll look forward to you telling the M&H "machine" on here to just ignore them, and not go on at length.

Maybe you already have, maybe I missed it.

However nobody should ignore a possibly racist, definitely misogynist and undoubtedly warped man getting his hateful views publicised in the national press and opining that everyone of his age feels the same as him. Because that would be enabling hate.

BigBertha1 Sun 18-Dec-22 11:13:42

I would not Whitewavemark2 I watched Countryfile for years and enjoyed it but I'm afraid its all a bit Blue Peter for me now with the presenters having to try everything out - just let the expert show you how its done.

Zoejory Sun 18-Dec-22 11:14:13

He is a bit of a dick. I think he'd agree with that himself

The outrage and endless comment is what he expects.

I think he must have watched Game of Thrones.

MaizieD Sun 18-Dec-22 11:51:22

I think he must have watched Game of Thrones.

I didn't watch it, but I've read all the books, which I found utterly horrific (it's my dreadful compulsion to see a series through that kept me going, hoping for a happyish ending...) I thought they were the product of a truly warped mind..

Over the years we have patted ourselves on the back for abolishing capital punishment (particularly public executions), bear baiting, fox hunting, setting mantraps etc. etc. but at heart nothing has really changed, has it?

People still love a bit of gratuitous violence and sheer cruelty, don't they? All with the excuse that 'It's not real, it's just acting, or fantasy'.

Well, this is absolutely real and this woman has done nothing to deserve such vile and twisted hatred. People are actually enjoying it and excusing him. Shame on anyone who can't condemn him fully and unreservedly and cut him out of their lives.

Theexwife Sun 18-Dec-22 12:42:59

I’ve always liked him.

I don’t believe everything I read, just go by from what I have actually seen on TV, that doesn’t tell all about a person but is the only thing I could judge him on.

Baggs Sun 18-Dec-22 13:01:17

I just read the original in The Sun – yes, I know! but one should always go to original sources – and it is perfectly clear that it's a total piss-take in Clarkson's usual style AND NOT TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY.

volver Sun 18-Dec-22 13:05:53

Actually, I'm not sure if Clarkson is saying he hates Meghan more than Rose West, now that I come to read it again.

“Not like I hate Nicola Sturgeon or Rose West. I hate her on a cellular level.”

I don't know what "hate on a cellular level" means. He but even if he doesn't hate Meghan as much as the other two, he still wants the Walk of Shame thing and we haven't even talked about the "bedroom promises" bit. And of course, if my new interpretation is correct, then he hates the elected First Minister of Scotland as much as he hates a vile serial killer.

This is not getting any better for Jeremy, is it?
