Good morning from a dark E Kent. It has rained, but not at the moment.
I’ve been awake since silly o’clock, worrying about my trip to Bristol this morning… idiotic, I know, as the tickets are bought, no strikes, everything always goes well, but….
I think we’re going to a Carol service at a little church called something like”St. John in the wall”. Isn’t the English language gorgeous?
Have a good day. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from a dry Torbay with sunshine forecast!

I’m pleased to say that olddudders arrived safely within four hours of leaving Portsmouth. It is good to be reunited and we found much to discuss, although we’d only been apart for a week!

Safe travels, grandMattie! I know what you mean about worrying over journeys - I think it’s one of the joys of being older: we have too many “What ifs” on our minds.

Today, I have a follow up appointment with my cardio surgeon who runs a satellite clinic at Torbay Hospital, saving patients a journey to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, for which I’m grateful. Despite the nurses' strike, the clinic is operating.

Have a good day, whatever you have planned. 🦩🎄⛄️🎅🏼🦩

Good morning Mick, grandMattie and those that follow from a dark south Hants.
Mick glad to see you’re getting out and about.
grandMattie - I hope the travelling goes smoothly with no hiccups. Have a lovely time … after all this time relentlessly looking after DL it probably feels a bit strange only having to think of yourself.
Hoping to do a food shop today … or at least sort out foods for the Boxing Day feast. DH always comments that I’m organising far too much food … but is always grateful when he sits down to eat! Numbers have gone up by 2 - as DH’s elderly parents are coming - making 10 in all.
Hope everyone has the best day they can.
Thoughts to those with worries and or illness 🦩🦩🦩
Hugs and 💐💐 for you all x

Good morning everyone from Inverness where the snows almost all gone and yay we can see the grass again!
Im up early as I’m off to DD1s in Cambridge today, getting the morning flight to Luton and the train onto Cambridge. If all goes to plan I should be there for lunch with the two little DGSs .. Safe travels to Bristol gMattie I know what you mean about worrying about journeys, I always breathe a sigh of relief when I’m safely on my way. Enjoy your time with the family.
Hoping all goes well with your appointment today Ash, good that olddudders is back there with you
Sorry to hear about your DH diagnosis farview
Take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Morning mick, morning All. From what I can see a dry start to our corner of Somerset

Thoroughly enjoyed time with our granddaughters yesterday. They ate - everything, fortunately stopping just short of our bankruptcy. We pottered around a couple of shops on the way back, their gift choices for their friends were fascinating. Not sure about today, may head out if the forecast dry weather appears.

Safe, trouble free trip grandmattie and brook. Good luck today ash. The weeks pass quickly. I’m sorry fairview, a horrid disease and a difficult diagnosis to come to terms with.

Take care everyone. Special thoughts to all finding this time of year particularly difficult. Hope Tuesday is kind to us all.

Good morning all from a still dark and not too cold North Leicestershire.

DH and I are off to have our much delayed flu jabs. And, I must organise my covid booster.

Good morning all from a dark but warm East Yorkshire. I haven’t slept well either I think the cosy Christmas duvet is a bit too cosy now the weather has turned.

Safe travels today brook and GM enjoy the family reunions.

So sorry to hear about your H farview hope you have support in the days ahead 💐

A full on day for me. Usual coffee then we are all going for a Christmas lunch straight after. GS is coming for a sleepover late this afternoon which will be fun. DIL sent me a photo of him and GD all cosy in bed yesterday morning he said they were having a lion. A lie in he meant!

Have a good day everyone.

harrigran Tue 20-Dec-22 07:02:21

Good morning from the NE where it is 6 degrees.
I am awake early as my tablet has been pinging with messages since 6am.
Had a sad phone call yesterday to say that my cousin had died in October and nobody realised she had family until the Christmas cards started arriving. A friend then went looking for any connection to our names and found a card from last year with my sister's email address on. The poor woman is upset that she didn't find us in time but not her fault that cousin didn't appear to have an address book.
A day at home waiting for deliveries, DIL has bought gifts for me to give GDs, just hope they all arrive as we are running out of time.
Today would have been DH's birthday so not the best of days.

Urmstongran Tue 20-Dec-22 07:09:15

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from a dark, dry and seemingly mild south Manchester. There’s still a banana shape of moon quite sharply defined. The trains are running (maybe not a full service!) but the 6:50am into Manchester Oxford Road has just pulled out from Platform 1.

Himself is still snoozing so I’ve made my own brew. I’m meeting a friend for lunch today. She only lives in Chorlton so said she’d like to get the bus into Urmston. We plan a coffee first then choose where we’d like to eat. My weight has plateaued which is no wonder. Fortunately I’ve not gained but after today I think I need to be a bit hard core till the weekend. At this rate I’ll never lose the 3lbs more I’ve set myself till treating myself to that half bottle of Möet!

Glad to hear old dudders is back with you for the Christmas festivities Ash.

Have a good Tuesday everybody. x

Good morning from Leicestershire, it is still dark here but think it is damp.

Spent most of yesterday jumping through hoops for the Dutch taxman and spending ages on the phone to Holland. I had forgotten how bureaucratic they are.

Today I must wrap presents.

Pleased OldDudders arrived back safely Ash and hoping today’s travellers have easy journeys.
Happy Birthday Mr GG.
So sorry to hear your news Farview it is a cruel disease.

Good morning, battering rain in s somerset last night but at least my smart meter is not groaning with the lower heating cost

Haircut with my lady barber today, an expert with short hair, it looks good with minimal care and a bit of wax

Local fruit shopping yesterday, very happy that the old style greengrocers is so busy. I can buy one orange and one potato if I want, I always buy more than I go for but am easily tempted by fresh fruit and veg and deli stuff

Next sock started last night, clickety clacking all day and it should be finished tomorrow

Pittcity Tue 20-Dec-22 07:25:21

Good morning from a dark, damp but mild Colchester.
Tuesday is charity shop volunteering day. Hopefully we'll be kept busy by a pre Christmas rush.
I hope everybody's day goes as smoothly as possible.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where there is just a crack of light showing in the sky. Can’t make out whether it’s raining or not. I had a poor night. GS is coming over today. His dad will drop him off on the way to work. I’ve promised him a bacon sandwich so I will have to shake a leg this morning. Then after lunch my nephew is calling in to pick up a present for his new grandson who is now at home and doing well. Thank the Lord for the NHS and expert premature baby care.
Farview Sorry to hear about your DH. I hope you get support, for both of you.
Ash good to hear Olddudders is back among us! Hunker down and enjoy each other’s company.
Have the best day you can folks.

Jaxjacky Tue 20-Dec-22 07:32:19

Good morning from S Hampshire, mild, dry, we’re due sun today.
Safe and easy travel today brook and gMattie. Happy Birthday MrGG 🎂.
A happy reunion Ash, best of luck today.
We went to a Christmas quiz in our local last night, our team did not shine! But it was fun.
Wrapping today, no more procrastinating.
Enjoy your day 🦩🦩

Good morning everyone, a wet start here in Wiltshire, it’s still dark but I peeked outside to check.
Today I want DH to help me out the thermal linings in the bedroom curtains then that’s all the rooms done. I will probably spend the afternoon frantically knitting socks for DGS2, I have 2 more pairs to do after so that’ll keep me busy. I think I must have knitted nearly 60 pairs now!
I’m as ready for Christmas as I’ll ever be, very low key but peaceful I hope.
Fingers crossed for everyone today x

Beechnut Tue 20-Dec-22 07:44:00

That’s a lot of socks BlueBalou

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s wet here and the new moon has disappeared behind the clouds.

A day at home doing bed changing and washing. Yesterday I once again tidied my craft room then hoovered up the floor. I now see I have a plain green carpet.

I’ll go back up and catch up all your morning news. Have a good day and safe journey’s if making any 🎄🦩

ginny Tue 20-Dec-22 07:44:25

Good mom from a warmer but wet N. Bucks.
Gift wrapping this morning and then to DD3 to look after DGS 3 while his brother goes to a party.
I slept better last night, 5 hrs without waking. Yesterday I had a letter to say that my appointment on February 28 , re my hip has been cancelled and a new appointment would be sent . I suppose that will be at least a few mor months.
Safe travels to all on the move and healing thoughts to all who need them.

Gwenisgreat1 Tue 20-Dec-22 07:47:34

Good morning all from my cosy bed in Harrogate. No idea what the weather is yet. Yesterday I had two surprise visits, one from DD2 with DGS in the morning. They had just left when DD1 arrived with DGD she wanted to do some peaceful shopping so DGD stayed with me for the afternoon. She wants to watch Utube but our wifi was playing up. She did not want a DVD on! I put LASSIE on for me to watch - she was soon involved with it, and wanted to watch Black Beauty after, we didn’t finish BB but it’s waiting the for when she comes again.
I get anxious if going on a special trip so wake up far to early Grandmattiie hope you have a good journey.
Glad you are reunited with Oldudders, Ash.
I hope you have relatives close by who can help Fairview if things get difficult.
Have the best day possible folks

NannyJan53 Tue 20-Dec-22 07:47:49

Good morning from a much milder Black Country where it is 7deg!

Over to Mums today to take her for a blood test, then chase her Doctors Surgery, as 2 weeks ago she had a 24hour Blood Pressure test. It was high and the pharmacist said the Doctors would be in touch. After chasing Friday, they said they had not received the results. Rang Pharmacy who said he will ring them as he definitely sent it electronically. Nothing heard, so may pop round in person today whilst I am over there.

DD is still not well. Such a shame as it is school holidays and she should be spending quality time with the family.

So sad to hear your news farview such a terrible disease.
Harrigran such a shock flowers

Wishing you all a terrific Tuesday, with love to all struggling at the moment

Chrissielou Tue 20-Dec-22 07:55:50

A grey murky start in Oxfordshire, I miss the cold bright days of last week. Off to the local vet's to get dog's stitches out this morning, then a pick up from Next in our local town. I was a bit click happy over the weekend!
I've broken up from work and have 2 weeks off, such a lovely thought.

farview I am so sorry to hear of your DH's diagnosis, such a cruel disease, I hope you feel supported by family and friends.
