Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry and cold here in brackley this morning.
Although its still a bank holiday , I may look at a local shop later this morning, I need some Exorcise and maybe get a Chinese take Away later.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a dark Bristol. Last full day here.
Had a morning pottering yesterday, playing the odd new game with the girls. I’m sorry to say that Iris isn’t being at all pleasant, being spiteful to her sister (who gets the tongue lashing), sulking, etc. a great shame.
In the afternoon, we joined DSiL’s family for a walk overlooking the Avon gorge. It was so cold, most of my fingers and toes went numb and white, despite me doing star jumps and windmilling my arms 🤣
Dinner of leftovers, early bed, we were all pooped.
Nothing planned for today, except packing.
Have a gentle day everyone, Carpe diem. 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Moseley where I too am on my last day with D, SIL and the Birmingham Three. It’s been lovely - we had a packed day yesterday- dog walk in the park which they back on to (very jealous!) then brunch, “Birmingham”Monopoly, then into town to see the film of Matilda the Musical, more Monopoly, yet another meal… and so it goes on!
Missing my Rosie though and ready to get back to normality! They are heading off to Somerset for a week and I will be on my way too, but they have given me a lovely Christmas. Wishing you all safe journeys if you are travelling and a pleasant day.

Morning Mick, morning All, haven’t peeped out at the weather so can’t report on our corner of Somerset

Back home yesterday afternoon after a toy-full visit to our almost recovered Littlest and his minders. Santa had been very generous indeed. Our two days were full of noise and love. Wonderful if exhausting, I wasn’t a bit surprised when Mr C slept on the sofa for an hour or so while I chatted to a friend to hear about her Christmas day.

No idea what today will bring. See how we feel when we both stir and also what the weather has in store.

Take care everyone. Hope Tuesday is kind to us all.

Good morning from a frosty NE, heating came on during the night .
I am in the most terrible pain in my left shoulder which is making sleep impossible.
DD and SIL stayed over on Christmas night and helped me with all the clearing up. We had a lie in yesterday and then went for a walk, it was very cold even with thick fleece, scarf and gloves. It was a short walk but gave us an appetite for lunch.
After lunch DD and SIL went to visit his brother and I settled down in front of TV.
Dinner last night was the leftovers from Christmas day with a glass of white wine.
No visitors today, I think I may do some washing as table linen is piling up along with towels and tea towels.
Safe travels those on the road.

Good morning from snowy Glasgow.

We stayed over at DD’s after a delicious dinner and an evening of games.

We’re going home this morning but will see them all again later when we will meet for a late lunch with my brother and partner who are visiting from France.

My little dog has loved her few days here with DD’s family, the children love her and the cats tolerate her. She’s going to find our house very quiet after being with this noisy lot.

Wishing everyone the best day possible, thinking of those who are struggling with ill health or worries.

Beechnut Tue 27-Dec-22 07:13:19

Good Morning everyone from a very dark Cotswolds.
Rain and heavy rain expected later so I hope to be home then.

I’ve had a lovely Christmas. I even sat outside on Sunday for a while taking in some fresh air and a drink.

Have the best day you can all 🎄🦩

glammagran Tue 27-Dec-22 07:14:12

Good morning all.

Quiet day yesterday after hectic Christmas dinner at DD’s where there were 12 of us. It was the first time she had ever hosted a large Christmas gathering and she did splendidly as it was all up in the air as to whether DGS would be discharged from hospital in time. He looked pale and wan during the morning but really perked up as the day went on. Only downside was SIL’s brother who has taken on a rescue bulldog which wheezed and snuffled very loudly all day and I have to say was the ugliest dog I’ve ever encountered.

So heartening to hear Susan56’s DGS is making a recovery now. Have a good day all.

BlueBalou Tue 27-Dec-22 07:19:12

Good morning everyone, it’s a soggy start here in Wiltshire.
Yesterday we went down to the canal for a walk, it was really chilly despite the sun coming out. DDog hasn’t been there before and she was oddly reluctant to actually walk. There are a number of very grim, semi-derelict barges and she actually refused to walk past several. They appear to be inhabited but are a complete eyesore.
What with that and many cyclists whizzing along it wasn’t a pleasant walk unfortunately. Never mind, they’re are many other places to go.
We went to my SIL’s for lunch, it was so lovely catching up with everyone and seeing my one year old great niece- gosh she’s adorable 🥰
Sat and watched Knives Out when we got back, with Daniel Craig playing a private investigator. It’s an interesting film, I quite enjoyed it, DH wasn’t too impressed, he likes lots of action!
Today I need to tidy up, do some washing and think of how to be creative for lunch, there’s plenty of leftovers here!
I hope today goes well for you all x

Wyllow3 Tue 27-Dec-22 07:21:28

Good Morning from a clear sky but still dark S Yorks.

Yesterday I met Ex which was a very mixed blessing. I watched the 1994 Susal Saradon "Little Women" which was lovely but missed so much out of this favourite series of books of one.

Probably just the gym today.

Travel safely those going home and best wishes for poor lies, that shoulder sounds bad harrigran. Glad to hear of cintinin recovery of DGS Susan.

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 27-Dec-22 07:26:05

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I had a quick peek through the curtains and it doesn’t appear to be frosty. Daughter is going back to London today. We’ll drive her to the station and then look for a new fluorescent light for the kitchen and a kettle, both of which conked out over Christmas! We still have furniture to put back in the right place but younger son, who is home until Friday, can help with that. Elder son and his family went back home yesterday. The house feels quieter already, without a 6-year old girl playing! Have a peaceful day.

kittylester Tue 27-Dec-22 07:30:42

Good morning all from a still dark and chilly North Leicestershire.

Not sure what we will do today.

peli Tue 27-Dec-22 07:34:55

Good morning. It's meant to be a sunny day later, so I'll try to get some exercise outside - I've been hibernating for the last 2 days!
I'm so v glad to read that Susans' little GS has improved so much! I hope everyone has an enjoyable day.

Abitbarmy Tue 27-Dec-22 07:37:07

Good morning everyone from a dark North Yorkshire. Like Urms I’m quite glad the last couple of days are over. I’m still tired from this awful bug and just crave a bit of quiet time now. Won’t happen today though, taking DD back to York, laden with mince pies, ham, cake etc. Then this afternoon we have our little village panto in the village hall. DH is on the door and we’re taking DGd who at four yrs old will love it. We may have her again Wednesday also DSiL is visiting p.m. , then Thursday I’m doing nothing! Hurray! Hope you all get the day you wish for today.

peli Tue 27-Dec-22 07:39:05

kittylester: How did yesterdays' driving lesson go?🚙

Jaxjacky Tue 27-Dec-22 07:41:11

Good morning from a chillier South Hampshire. Lazy day yesterday, tidied up, put a wash on and sorted out our lovely presents.
Must get out for a proper walk today, we have rain due later.
Enjoy your day 🦩🦩

Marydoll Tue 27-Dec-22 07:41:54

Good morning all from a snow Glasgow, rain later thankfully.

Nothing to report. Slept for much of yesterday. I gave Mr MD such a fright. DH came to check on me and the room was in total darkness and silent. He thought I was dead. I have never seen him so upset. At least I know he cares!!
I'm not allowed to use my rescue pack for my chest, because it contains steroids and I take prophylactic antibiotics anyway, so I have to ride out the storm.
There is plentry for DH to eat, so no worries there. Another day of doing little.
I expect DD will pop down, I got a message at 7am checking on me.

It's lovely to hear of all the happy family times and safe journey to all who are travelling.

Healing vibes to the poorly wee ones and Dusty Angel's DH.

Kalu, I hope your water is back on, you are welcome to pop down the road if you need any. We had powers cuts here yesterday. I don't know what is worse!

Enjoy your day folks.

Pittcity Tue 27-Dec-22 07:54:51

Good morning from dawning Colchester. A dry day with single figure temperatures.
After 2 full on family days with board game wars and too much food and booze we're back to normal today.
The bins are out and the hoover, mop and iron will be later. I have a day off from my usual Tuesday as the charity shop is closed.
We may pop out to buy food as we only really have cheese, crackers and crisps leftover.
Love to all 🦩 x

Grandmadinosaur Tue 27-Dec-22 07:57:48

Good morning all from east Yorkshire. Just getting light here and is dry.

Needed to get out for some fresh air yesterday so went for a walk around the marina. All the cafes, restaurants were closed so had a coffee at a hotel there. Lovely and quiet we just enjoyed the view. Home and I made Christmas dinner soup from leftovers and watched Mary Poppins on tv. Later Dh watched the football and we had an easy tea of leftovers. I hadn’t gone overboard buying food and am glad to see spaces in the fridge!
The rest of the family (DIL and children) will be home today.
No plans for today will go with the flow.

I had been dreading the holidays with them all being away but actually I’ve enjoyed it with time being our own. I suspect the New year celebrations will be busier and a birthday in the mix too.

Have a good day everyone whatever you are doing.

Gwenisgreat1 Tue 27-Dec-22 07:57:55

Good morning all from still dark Harrogate
BluBalou that is odd your dog not wanting to walk past the barges.
Had a very quiet day yesterday, just lounged around. Not sure what today will bring, a bit of cleaning perhaps- I think my school friend might phone today. Yesterday she had her daughter with her. We had hoped to meet up this week but my journey to Newcastle would be hit by rail strikes and coming home I apparently would be on 4 buses for 4 hours, a bit off putting. The train would take 90 minutes
Have the best day possible folks.

GrannySomerset Tue 27-Dec-22 08:15:52

Today is an empty but will involve bed changing and food shopping in preparation for the arrival o DD and family tomorrow for two nights. Yesterday I spent with a friend when we ate and drank well and made significant inroads into a 2000 piece jigsaw featuring famous composers. We may have to spend more time on it though her family will probably do quite a bit today. I haven’t attacked a serious jigsaw in years and it is a great aid to conversation.

Sorry that Marydoll is still not well and hope she and everyone else has a good day today.

BlueSapphire Tue 27-Dec-22 08:21:35

Good morning everyone from 'still in bed at DS's' in Northampton. Rather dull and grey here, not sure what it's going to do.

DS is not working today so he will be taking me home later this morning. He had rather a grisly day at work yesterday, having to attend a post-mortem and photograph the proceedings; rather him than me!

Spent yesterday afternoon playing games with the DGDs and their mum, - Articulate, and Who Dares Wins, - sad to say the girls beat their DM and me hands down, but it was great fun! DD-outlaw made a lovely turkey curry for dinner, then we watched tv until DS came home from work. Rather enjoyed The Repair Shop last night.

Safe travels for those on the road today, and hoping those in sick bay feel better soon.

Gingster Tue 27-Dec-22 08:23:16

Good morning all and it feels colder again.

We had a lovely day at DS1’s yesterday. All the family gathered together and no one was ill. The children played games in another room which left the adults to chat and mingle. Presents galore and a delicious buffet.

A quiet day today with leftovers. Lovely!

Marydoll I hope you have a better day today 🙏.

Glad to hear of the littlies improving.

Enjoy the day, whatever you’re doing. 🌲

dragonfly46 Tue 27-Dec-22 08:26:17

Good morning from an overcast Leicestershire.

Dog walk first thing then DD and SiL are driving home after a very pleasant Christmas.
Then packing for our trip to Brighton tomorrow.

Wishing everyone a pleasant day.

Ashcombe Tue 27-Dec-22 08:26:36

Good morning from Torbay where it’s dry at the moment but rain is expected.

MawtheMerrier: as a student, I lived in Moseley (Salisbury Road then Grove Ave.) for two years and have happy memories of those days. A few years ago now: 1969 - 1971!!

I’ve enjoyed reading about your Boxing Day activities. Once the sun appeared, we walked over the Downs to our new favourite watering hole: The Babbacombe Inn, where the mulled wine went down a treat! It’s eight weeks since my surgery and I’m feeling really well now and able to accomplish most tasks indoors, keeping within the guidelines.

Thank you for all the support and encouragement. Safe journeys to those travelling and get well wishes to those who are ill.
