I’m beginning to get itchy garden fingers as well, as I need to start pruning some of the climbers and get on top of any weeds, but looking at the BBC weather app. It looks wet for the next fortnight😦

Good morning from a wet and windy W Kent. Small amount of shopping and large amount of ironing for me today. We have not had any post for nearly three weeks, I am also considering whether to send cards next year.
All the best.

Good Morning Mick and everyone from dark damp Carlisle where it is forecast to be a very wet day. I am staying firmly in and don't need to go out as I have a Tesco delivery due this afternoon.
I have spent Christmas down south and returned yesterday, train journeys both ways having gone smoothly unlike last summer. It seems to have been wet everywhere over the holidays judging by the water on the fields.
Today I will be unpacking and doing the resultant laundry followed by a bit of admin. Then I hope to finish a book plus give some thought on how best to lose the 2lb I have gained over Christmas! So congratulations Urmston on not doing so. It's not easy resisting those Christmas baking challenges.

Have the best possible day, all.

Good morning all from blustery Harrogate, haven’t read all your posts but hope to catch up later. I have DGD coming today - once she comes there will be no time for posting! She’s like a whirlwind. Might try to take her out this morning. Yesterday was in Leeds, discovered there is nothing wrong with my MacBook, just a new trend! I’ve been invited to go back to the apple shop to join a class tomorrow to learn some of its tricks. Apparently they regularly have classes to learn the finer points of using them. And they are free, but you have to book them.
Have the best day possible folks

Good Morning all from a very wet Severnside.

I’ve sat about for far too many days so it’s pottering and tidying up for me today.

I’ll start at the beginning and read all your news while having my cuppa.

Have a good day all 💐

ShazzaKanazza Fri 30-Dec-22 08:50:12

Happy birthday to your little grandson Grandmadinosaur I’m sure he will have a lovely day.
Wow ginny such stunning lights.

NannyJan53 Fri 30-Dec-22 08:52:46

Good morning from a dark, wet and windy Black Country.

Lovely walking group walk yesterday. Then onto DS's house for a family meet up buffet tea for his birthday,

Today we are off on the train to visit MrJ's Niece with his DD's to see her new baby born end of November. This is her fourth, so it will be a very busy household I think! Luckily our journey covers the area our Senior pass includes, so no fare to pay !

Well doneUrms I know how hard it is to lose weight, been watching it all my life since a teenager when I was called names at school. I was determined no-one would ever do that again.

I too received Christmas cards yesterday. I had already decided that next year I will do the same as my cousin and announce I will not be sending cards, but making a donation to a charity.

I really should go to the gym this morning, but cannot find the motivation. Next week!!

Best wishes to you all

Good morning all and it’s breezy out there. Rain forecast this morning, here in Essex.

Bowls group yesterday was fun and Dh enjoyed it (I think) . Hopefully he’ll come again.🤞. Eldest and youngest gds came for lunch with Dd and we had a games afternoon, with all the new games she’d had for Christmas. Those instruction leaflets drive me mad!

Today we have the washing machine repair man coming, so no Friday friends lunch for us.
Hoping to get down to some serious reading.

Shazza happy holidays to you and yes, do the toboggan run, it’s very exciting!

Harrigran and greyduster I hope your discomfort eases and you can get a good nights sleep.

Take it easy!

Morning from S Yorks. Its very wet here too.

Felt so grotty I've just taken a Covid test, but decided must have flu instead. Yuk.

Well, have to stay in anyway as a Sky box is supposed to be arriving via a re-booking for Royal Mail, but since I've had no texts or mails confirming it am Doubtful. I haven't got a front door bell so shall set up downstairs....

Shazza have a great time and lovely pix Ginny

I'm pretty sure I haven't had all my christmas cards yet, so few came, unless 15 people unilaterally decided not to send cards at all this year, but my cousin always does..
yet just before Christmas/the strike a local business letter arrived when it should,I bet its patchy round the country.

christmas tree is down and outside as its a rooted living one and its nice to keep it fresh. I invented a method of tipping it onto a sheet and dragging it outside, and no needles dropped so it will be good for another year at least.

Grandmabatty Fri 30-Dec-22 08:58:39

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and pouring rain. Urms well done on the weight loss, and at Christmas too. Grandmadinosaur I hope your dgs has a lovely birthday. Shazza enjoy your holiday.
Yesterday I had a lovely lunch and catch up with friends. I had a lovely surprise too. My art tutor, who is also a friend, presented me with a painting she had done of a peony rose which I had admired. I was blown away and very happy. I ate too much so it was a sandwich for dinner.
Today I'm meeting another friend for coffee and to exchange presents as we didn't manage it before Christmas due to me having covid. We can talk for Scotland so a couple of hours will disappear. Baked potato for dinner. Have a good day all.

Good morning from Sefton. Dry and blustery here.
A quiet day planned before we puppy, dog and baby sit for the AC as they welcome in the new year.
Hope your shoulder is less painful today harrigran. Have a great time Shazza; an air fryer is definitely something to consider. Gosh, you’re well ahead of next Christmas Mattie! Thoughts to all.

Good morning from a very wet and windy Essex by the sea. Give me cold and dry anyday.
DH has a cough and cold but is insisting on coming shopping with me this morning. The fridge and cupboards are bare.
An afternoon doing my new jigsaw and catching up with any programmes missed over Christmas.
Safe travels to those on the move.
Have the best Friday you can, much love xxx

supergabs1960 Fri 30-Dec-22 09:04:27

Morning all smile
Wet and windy here in Wiltshire. I'm currently having my first cuppa of the morning, having checked on my elderly Dad, Carers due at 9.30am so I am leaving the morning routine to them (slight guilt).
I think today I will be doing some more sorting of bedrooms and some crochet. I'm currently making a blanket of many colours smile. Definitely won't be venturing out.

supergabs1960 Fri 30-Dec-22 09:07:23

I have the itchy garden fingers too but it's so horrible out there. I have loads of tidying to do. So looking forward to a dry day

Greyduster Fri 30-Dec-22 09:09:36

Good morning from rainy Shropshire.

Our family meal went well yesterday.DD persuaded mum to come but I think it was all a bit overwhelming for her.Too noisy and too many people.I feel sad seeing her decline. We have had the appointment for the memory clinic in a fortnights time.My younger brother is in total denial that there is anything wrong with her which is difficult.

After the meal we looked after H while DD1 took DGD to meet her Godmother for afternoon tea.

I meant to say on Wednesday evening DD and SIL took DGD to the Harry Potter forbidden forest experience. She absolutely loved it.DD said she would definitely recommend it for any other Harry Potter fans.

We are looking after DGD and H later while DD and SIL have an evening out with friends. Not sure if we are going there or whether the children will come for a sleepover here.Either is fine.

Hope another day of rest sees you feeling better Mary.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Susan56 Fri 30-Dec-22 09:19:12

Wyllow hope you feel better soon💐

Gala Fri 30-Dec-22 09:22:13

Good morning from an overcast Sefton. According to the weather app it's raining!
A late start for me again but this time due to sleeping for at least 9 hours😴. Feel so much better for an uninterrupted night's sleep.
A small jaunt out today. Our Pilates class has had to change venue so we are going to do a recce to see where it is then continue out into the Lancashire countryside to try out a new (to us) pub for lunch.
Will now scroll back & catch up with everyone. Have the best day you can.

baubles Fri 30-Dec-22 09:28:01

Good morning all from very wet South Lanarkshire.

I’m late this morning so will read everyone’s post in a little while.

It will be another quiet day here as neither of us are well and we had a very broken night keeping each other awake with our coughing fits.

Wishing you all a good day.

GrannySomerset Fri 30-Dec-22 09:33:32

DSiL has taken DGD1 to the station on her way back to Liverpool to celebrate new year with her mates. Then DD and DSiL leave after an early lunch for new year with friends in Devon. The house will be very dull without them and I have so enjoyed their company. Yesterday was so wet we went to the cinema to see “Matilda - The Musical” which was terrific and an unexpected bonus.

Will get my breath back before embarking on putting the house straight so will look for a musical to watch, having enjoyed singing along with “Oklahoma” and “South Pacific” earlier in the week though I had forgotten quite how dark SP really is.

Must read everyone’s doings now. Have a good day.

Jaxjacky Fri 30-Dec-22 09:37:55

Good morning from an overcast, wet and windy S Hampshire, another one coughing and sniffling. I’ll be staying in again, no one will thank me for spreading this about. Have a safe journey Shazza.
Last of the turkey will be frozen, fresh pasta for dinner, Tesco delivery this afternoon.
Enjoy your day all 🦩🦩

good morning mick and everyone. It looks dull outside but dry for now. No plans today other than catch up with some indoor chores, and perhaps a walk if it stays dry.
Hope today is a good one for you all.
