Hello smile
We haven’t had a Night Owls thread for ages, so I thought I’d start one.
I know that there are quite a few of us about in the wee small hours, and it can be a lonely time.
So here it is.
I look forward to chatting in the nights and weeks to come x

Please don't apologise Ginny, it's nice to hear from you and others. I'm glad you have your neice to support you. It must be hard for you having your daughter so far away.
I'm lucky that my son is just up the road from me.
I looked after my Dgd last night to enable him and my ddil to visit my dh.l go in the afternoons. It was absolutely lovely to play babies and cooking.
She did get a little bossy but told me sorry grandma, l must be kinder.... bless her.

Alioop Fri 03-Feb-23 05:32:50

Morning to you both. I've been lying for ages trying to doze off again but it isn't happening. Ginny that's awful you have been left to clear the house, why are some people so unkind. It's a huge task and so much for your neice and yourself to do alone. I'm sure it will be awful to see your DD go.
Maya it's lovely to hear you had a lovely time with your DGD, the 'bossy' part made me laugh.
Well, I think I might as well get up. Ivy is snoring away still, she must of been madly dreaming last night, she was yelping so badly I had to waken her. I hate listening to it. She's a rescue, a stray found on the streets in an awful state and I worry she dreams of the bad times. Silly I know, but I love her to bits. Well the day has arrived for my hospital appointment, I've my fingers and toes crossed all will be fine.
You both take care today.

Thank goodness for the children! Glad you had a lovely time with your DGD. So special to spend time together. My ex lived in the original family home till the end. My DGS asked me how it felt going back into that house. He's 14 and had realised that it may be very emotional for me bless him.

It actually feels very odd finding things which I bought 53 years ago!

Take care xx

Ginny42 Fri 03-Feb-23 05:48:30

Oh yes, it's today isn't it Alioop? Remember the deep breathing exercises to curb anxiety. I shall be doing them having a crown fitted at the dentist today. Best wishes all goes well. flowers

FannyCornforth Fri 03-Feb-23 05:55:44

I haven’t caught up with everyone’s news and musings yet, but I just wanted to wish Alioop all the very, very best for today thanks x

FannyCornforth Fri 03-Feb-23 06:00:25

Oh Maya, my heart goes out to you. I know exactly what it’s like.
I’m glad that you had such a lovely day with your granddaughter.
I really hope that you get some positive news today thanksx

Maya1 Fri 03-Feb-23 06:08:56

I will be thinking of you Alioop. I hope that things go well for you today. Best wishes.
Oh Ginny l am terrified of the dentist, good luck.
Thanks Fanny, l know you have experienced what l am going through with Mr C.
Be positive is my motto today.
Take care and thank you all.

FannyCornforth Fri 03-Feb-23 06:50:52

Maya just in case you haven’t seen my replies on the CBD thread; that business about Omeprazole is just plain bunkum.
I don’t won’t you worrying about that on top of everything else!

Alioop Fri 03-Feb-23 07:34:03

Thank you all for your kind words, it really means a lot.
Good luck for the dentist today Ginny, horrible places.
Take care everyone.

Maya1 Fri 03-Feb-23 08:12:59

Thanks Fanny. I hadn't. I was getting concerned about it.
I won't bother contacting the doctor now.xx

FannyCornforth Sat 04-Feb-23 04:41:19

Hello
How is everyone?
Ginny how did you get on at the dentist? thanks
Maya any news? I really hope that you are okay thanks
Alioop you too of course thanks
I was thinking of you all yesterday.

Gracie is absolutely fine now.
She had a lump removed from her mouth that they discovered during her op. It went for tests and it’s come back fine.
Her eye is almost completely healed and she’s no longer wearing the cone of shame.

Good morning Fanny. You're up with the lark too so I hope you're OK.

My DD insisted I took some melatonin and promised I would sleep. I slept for 5 hours which is great for me. She is returning home today. I will continue to clear the former family home and meet the estate agent there on Monday for a valuation. How weird is that after being divorced from her father for over 30 years? It's one of those times when I just have to bite the bullet as the saying goes.

I hope you are sleeping Alioop, but do let us know how it went yesterday. flowers
Maya you have my special thoughts. It's a tough time for you. flowers

Alioop Sat 04-Feb-23 06:02:49

Morning to you all. Hope your crown is all sorted Ginny. I'm waiting on another appointment for more tests, hopefully they won't be long sending for me again. I live on my own and at times I sit and get myself so worried about things, I just hope all be be fine.
Great news about Gracie Fanny, I'm sure you are glad the lampshade is off. My legs used to be covered in bruises when my dog had one on with her ramming it into them.
Maya I'm thinking of you and your DH and the awful time you are both going through.

Maya1 Sat 04-Feb-23 06:07:51

Good morning Fanny and Ginny
I slept for about 5 hours, so feel a little better in myself. Unfortunately the news isn't so good about DH. We are still waiting for the MRI to be done. However he gets weaker by the day.
I hope all went well for you Alioop. Please let us know how you are.
I'm glad Gracie is well, Fanny, she is a sweetheart. Finn is bringing me a lot of comfort at this time.
Ginny, you have an awful lot to do at the moment, make sure you look after yourself.
Thank you all for your support, it means so much.

Maya1 Sat 04-Feb-23 06:17:11

Morning Alioop.
It's awful being on your own and worrying. I hope you get your appointment very quickly. Keep us updated please.
It's amazing how much better this thread and all of you gave made me feel.
I hope It's the same for you.

Ginny42 Sat 04-Feb-23 06:54:56

I have no idea how it works that total strangers can make us feel better, I only know that it does. I imagine it's because we can empathise with each others pain and anxiety. xx

Alioop Sat 04-Feb-23 07:12:17

I was actually thinking that yesterday Maya, when you all wished me the best, how nice it was to have you all on here. You are there at the start of my day and I do find it helpful having you all to chat to, so a big thank you.
Miss Ivy is up early this morning so I'll be heading shortly to the seafront for a walk to clear my head and get some sea air.

lixy Sat 04-Feb-23 07:34:51

Just popping in to catch up,
I'm still here with my mum, She is getting better now thank goodness and I'm hoping that I'll be able to think about going home for a day or two by the end of Feb.
She is very deaf without her hearing aids. I can make as much noise as I like but light wakes her so I have to choose my screen times carefully! All the doors here are frosted glass so no hiding that the laptop is on.

Ginny; we cleared both BiL and MiL's houses. Do get help with both the clearing and the cleaning. Keep the invoices. We claimed that expenditure back from the estate through the solicitor before the inheritances were settled.

Will be thinking of you all over the weekend.

lemsip Sun 05-Feb-23 03:57:30

everyone else a sleep?

lemsip Sun 05-Feb-23 04:03:19

oh no, six other posters awake.

Whitewavemark2 Sun 05-Feb-23 04:08:54

Hello😄

I often wake for a couple of hours during the night, then drift back to sleep again.

I go to bed very early though, so easily get 8+ hours in. I just do it in shifts😄😄

So good morning everyone and good night for the second time😴😴

lixy Sun 05-Feb-23 04:10:19

Morning lemsip and anyone else awake.
I was just having a quick wordle and quordle session but then I got side-tracked by other threads!

BlueBelle Sun 05-Feb-23 05:47:32

WW2 that’s my sleep pattern too but I don’t go to bed till 10.30/11pm couple of hours sleep, couple of hours wake I usually get about 5 hours
Been like it for more years than I can remember I don’t usually wake for any reason eithev

NotSpaghetti Sun 05-Feb-23 05:49:50

Yes, I'm awake.
Hello.

NotSpaghetti Sun 05-Feb-23 05:51:24

The truth is, people used to have two sleeps a night. It was an "ordinary" pattern so I don't feel concerned if I wake up and later go to sleep again.
