Why did you choose your Gransnet Name?

My name is based on an Irish Queen. I come from NI and liked the sound of it. I also like to be a bit anonymous on sites and felt this suited the bill.

It is the name of a tiny artificial fly that has caught me many trout in small streams. It is, like me, small, grey and deadly!😂

My moniker began as a typo a number of years ago. Accenting the second syllable, I enjoy how it rolls of the tongue.

Biglouis was a large tortoise I had as a kid. He used to climb into the kitchen cupboards and push the dishes out.

It rhymes with part of my real name and was my nickname at primary school. It has nothing to do with my hair - which is straight!

For what I would hope are obvious reasons, it was the name I used for several years on a forum for carers of people with dementia, and I couldn’t be bothered to think of another.

I work with many younger than me. It’s a running joke as I’m at least 15 years older than some, twice as old as others.

My horse’s name

The name of a ship in one of my favourite books - Great Northern? by Arthur Ransome. My Mumsnet name is also an AR tribute - Squashyhat from Pigeon Post.

It's the name of the street my Gran lived in.

Without giving our identities away I feel the stories being the names make the postings a little more personal somehow. Thanks again.
