Good morning everyone from Inverness, it’s mild and we’ve rain forecast but I don’t think it’s very windy here
I had a lovely facetime call with DS last night, they’re just back from a skiing holiday at new year, I always breathe a sigh of relief that no injuries were sustained. No plans yet for today, DH is feeling a bit achey so it’ll probably just be a quiet weekend for us.
A lovely post and so much to look forward to Granyfaraway enjoy your special times with your new DGS, a lovely name too
Good to hear you’re doing so well Ash
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Happy birthday shazza. 🎂🎈🍸

Good morning from a mild, breezy Colchester. Rain forecast today.
Today's only plan is a trip to Lidl. Our weekends are much the same as weekdays except I have DS to feed and his laundry to do. We don't see much of him as he is either asleep or with his GF.

flowersHappy Birthday Shazza thanksand love to all 🦩 x

Good morning everyone from a wet and very windy south Hants!
Busy and productive day yesterday - finally managed to get myself some warm and comfy boots for dog walking and a couple of fleecy bobble hats. DH found some boots for himself too. Today will be a good day to test them out as they are supposed to be waterproof.
Hope MaryDoll, Urms’ DSF and any other poorlies are all feeling better today.
Have the best day you can 🦩🦩🦩.
Hugs and 🌻🌻 for you all x

Good morning Mick and All.

Wet, grey and miserable here in south Bucks.

Your post Mary has brightened me up, I’m so pleased you got a proper consultation which you so deserve 👍

Happy birthday Shazza🥳🍾🥂🎂

Stilllearning Sat 07-Jan-23 08:30:08

Good morning from S Lanarkshire, still dark and rainy.

A tidying and cleaning morning ahead before normal routine resumes on Monday, then a visit this afternoon to an older friend from the days when I used to deliver books from the library to people who were housebound. She is quite an example of positive and contented living.

Happy Birthday Shazza, I’m enjoying your holiday posts and pictures.

Wishing everyone a very pleasant weekend 🦩

brook2704 Sat 07-Jan-23 08:34:53

Shazza wishing you a very Happy 60th Birthday! Enjoy your very special day..what a lovely way to celebrate! 🎉🍷🥂💐❤️

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a very wet South Yorkshire. That’s my daily walk down the tubes then. I managed slightly shy of a mile yesterday with only my walking poles. It’s coming along. DS is supposed to be coming down today, but he didn’t ring to firm up arrangements so I will have to wait and see. Agree with*Ash*, Mick. Speak to the GP about your weight loss.
Glad you found someone to get a handle on your health issues Mary; she’s a keeper!
Happy Birthday, Shazza🎂💐! Great photos!
Have the best day you can, folks!

Happy Birthday Shazza 🎂🍷🎉

Grammaretto Sat 07-Jan-23 08:45:16

Happy birthday 🎉 Shazza still so young!
Beautiful photos.

I am very relieved for you Marydoll that you seem to be in the best possible hands now.
Stay well.

Kalu Sat 07-Jan-23 08:45:29

Well done that trainee GP. At last Marydoll someone got the finger out. As for your pharmacy though, what a shambles.
Hoping your DSF is feeling better today Urms
Happy Birthday shazza. Beautiful scenery.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and wet. We've lost the wind though to some of you further south. Mick I think you said earlier that you wanted to lose weight. I wish I had self discipline to do it. Shazza a happy birthday to you today. I hope you have a lovely time. Marydoll I'm glad you had a successful meeting with the doctor. Enjoy your Turkish dramas! Grammaretto your house sounds very atmospheric.
Yesterday I got the usual weekly washes done and most of the housework too. I look at my windows and groan though. They look awful! I think I'll have to buy a Karcher. No matter what I use, they are smeared.
Today I'm nipping to Aldi soon as I'm having the boys later for a couple of hours. I'm looking forward to it as they are good fun. Santa brought new play dough to grandma's house and dgs1 doesn't forget it easily. Forty tubs of the blooming stuff! What was I thinking? I need my head examined. It'll be chaos but easily rectified once they go home. Chicken for dinner. Have a good day all.

Good morning all from rainy South Lanarkshire.

I’m delighted you had such a productive meeting with the GP, Marydoll.

Congratulations on the birth of your DGS Grannyfaraway.

Wishing you the happiest of birthdays Shazza.

It’s DD’s birthday today and we’re going over to spend the weekend with her children so that DD and SiL can have an overnight away. They seldom go out together far less have the luxury of a night in a hotel and we’re looking forward to spending time with our DGC.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Morning from a damp, windy S Hampshire. A very happy birthday to Shazza 🎂🎉🎈.
Granddaughter off orienteering this morning, practice for her Duke of Edinburgh, she’ll get wet.
Bits and bobs to do today.
Have a good day all 🦩🦩

SunshineSally Sat 07-Jan-23 08:53:41

Happy Birthday Shazza and welcome to the 60’s club. Lovely photos.

MaryDoll - Wonderful to hear that you finally have some action at last. Well done to the trainee GP 👏👏 but how upsetting that your own GP didn’t do the second referral. So upsetting. Hopefully you’ll be able to pick up your meds on Monday 🤞. Take care x

GrannySomerset Sat 07-Jan-23 08:55:28

Wild night with rain hurled at bedroom windows, but quieter this morning though still very wet. Nothing at all planned so I shall find a film or two later today and let the day wash over me.

Glad that Marydoll encountered such a helpful and sensible GP and hope such care continues. It’s bad enough to feel so unwell without being so abandoned by those whose job is to support and help. Glad Shazza had such a brilliant birthday, and hope for a good day for all our posters.

Urmstongran Sat 07-Jan-23 08:56:25

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s damp. Alexa tells me it’s currently 10°C with showers forecast. L’il Miss is coming over to play mid morning for a couple of hours while her parents take the Boy Wonder to play football in Stockport.

Himself will be changing our flights today with Mr O’Leary. We planned to go to Spain tomorrow but we need to push the flights back and shave a few days off our holiday to accommodate taking my stepfather to Wythenshawe ENT clinic on Monday. I also need to see him settled for about 3 nights (hopefully) before we go. If need be, we will of course just let the rearranged flights go.

We are babysitting tonight as our daughter & son in law fancy an evening out for a curry.

Enjoy Saturday all who can. I’m going to read the 36 posts that were already up when I signed in. This thread has become very popular indeed which is nice. Oh, here’s my second cuppa. ...
😊

Good morning from a very gloomy & extremely wet Sefton. A reluctant dog is being persuaded to 'go for a lovely walk' at this very moment (I can hear them from my cosy bed!). Let's see how long that walk lasts.
No plans for today & no need to venture out. I have good books, my cross stitch, some good tv recordings, oh & the ironing. My day is sorted.
Take care all. ((Hugs)) to those of you with worries & struggles.

luluaugust Sat 07-Jan-23 09:03:04

Good morning from a grey overcast morning in W Kent. All the available family are coming today for lunch, lasagne and pud, the first time I have hosted 11 for a very long time and I must admit that although I have kept it very simple I do feel nervous. I know they will help with the lifting if I ask.
So glad you got somewhere Marydoll it just shows it can be done.
Happy birthday shazza now I really feel old!!
Best wishes

Oopsadaisy1 Sat 07-Jan-23 09:06:05

Good morning Mick and all, from a wet and windy Oxfordshire.

Another day of sorting, I’m skirting around 20 boxes of ‘stuff’ that MrOops has collected for the Ukraine, they won’t disappear until next week so I’m saving my big clear out until his boxes go.

But tidying up cupboards and drawers is good and most are semi sorted ready to box up.

So pleased you found someone to listen to you Marydoll it’s been a long time coming, let’s hope your GP will stay at your practice, our was closed again to everything but emergencies yesterday, so much sickness around at the Surgery.

Happy Birthday Shazz have fun, take care travelling Karmalady

Have a good day everyone, stay warm and dry. Hugs for those who aren’t so chipper today.

dragonfly46 Sat 07-Jan-23 09:07:23

Good morning from wet SE London.

The journey down yesterday went well as the roads were fairly quiet. I think everyone was staying at home.
We are going to a show tonight so hoping the Elizabeth line is running.

Pleased your appointment with the doctor went well Marydoll.
Sorry to hear your holiday is being postponed Urms but hopefully they can sort your SF out.

Happy Birthday Shazza.

Alygran Sat 07-Jan-23 09:07:59

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s very wet this morning.
Happy birthday Shazza
Pleased to hear you made some progress with the GP Mary
Nothing much on here today, a quick run round with the vacuum cleaner and an agenda to prepare for a meeting next week.
Have a good day everyone

annsixty Sat 07-Jan-23 09:08:58

Good morning from Stockport.
A quiet day today until I, hopefully, go out tonight for a meal in a lovely Turkish restaurant tonight with my friend and neighbour.
She has had a bad cold so I hope she is fully recovered.
My GD’s appointments went well yesterday and she is having elective surgery on Feb the 8th.
I was totally thrown by my changed routine yesterday, it really doesn’t take much, the saying that old age isn’t for wimps is so true, but better than the alternative.
Have the best day you can everyone.

Stilllearning Sat 07-Jan-23 09:12:32

Just checked back in, very glad to read about your comprehensive GP appointment Marydoll, you must be so relieved and not before time. I hope it leads soon to a much better quality of life for you.
