I am sitting by my husband’s bedside in hospital as he has had a heart attack. Next 24 hours are critical.

Thank you.
DH is on a c pap machine to help with breathing and his blood sugar is not right ( no food or meds)

Redhead56 Thu 12-Jan-23 08:52:20

Try and get some rest yourself he is in good hands now.

lixy Thu 12-Jan-23 09:00:10

Right here with you.
Can you find some breakfast for yourself? Your blood sugars need to be right too.

Virtual hugs from me as well.

Thank you. I had a lift home and got food, went to bed but was woken by my well- meaning son at the door. So tired yet wide awake now. No further news, but I do appreciate your hugs and kind words.

Hi Cabbie, I am thinking of you and your husband.

Cabbie21 Fri 13-Jan-23 09:12:14

I had an offer of a lift home and had a good sleep. Such a help. DH is brighter this morning. On a new mask making it easier to speak and has just eaten a bowl of Weetabix his first meal so is looking good. Progress.

That's good news, thanks for the update.

Now make yourself eat, sleep and rest to build up your own reserves ready for the challenge of the next few weeks.

It must have been such a lonely, long night Cabbie. I hope you can get some sleep today with better news soon.

Fingers crossed Cabbie21 that your husband has continued to have a better day.

For what it's worth my Dad has had two cardiac events over the years and is still here, so hopefully your husband's doctors can work their magic as well.

I'm surprised about the comments regarding the noise and lights and busyness in the cardiac ward.
I worked on a different ward in our main hospital and sometimes had to go up to the cardiac ward for ice. There was a notice on the door asking for quiet because "poorly hearts need rest," and it was like an oasis of calm in there with dimmed lighting and subdued voices.

Tommo I do like your sense of humour 😉

Cabbie

Thinking of you and wishing a prompt recovery

Hi Fanny
Thank you for your kind words.
I have lived in Scotland for a long time, but I struggle from time to time, with the written word.
My Polish accent is still very strong though, and some people have great difficulty in understanding all I have to say!!!!
Cabbie, I am so very glad that your husband is making such good progress.
That must be such a weight from your mind.
Agnieszka.
