…and go anywhere and back, just for one day, where would it be?

I would go to Sydney and do the harbour bridge climb again.

Definitely Australia but not just for a day. Our Australian SiL is desperate for us to go but I can’t face the journey.

Oh if only we could. I’d love to see my sister in law and her family in New Zealand. I’ll never get there now though it’s too far and I’m too terrified.

Singapore and go to Raffles - didn’t make it there when we did a stopover once, so it’s definitely a “to do” thing.

As tempting as it would be to go to the other side of the world, if it had to be only for a day, it would have to be Istanbul - my favourite city in the world after Edinburgh.
But oh, to have a Tardis (or any kind of sci-fi style transportation device) - just imagine being able to whisk yourself away to the destination of your dreams without having to endure the hell of airports etc (I'm not afraid of flying, just hate the whole palaver associated with it).

It seems to have been forgotten that a tardis takes you to other times, not just places. So how about going to the Moon to see Armstrong and Aldrin arrive. From out of sight of course :-)

GrandmaTrisha Sun 15-Jan-23 09:12:44

To Australia to see my grandchildren.

Greyduster Sun 15-Jan-23 09:44:36

If it was to other times, I would like to get just one look at Alexander the Great, who has fascinated me for forty years! If to a place, it would be to the beach hotel DH and I stayed in in 1967. It was very old colonial and romantic.

A particular day in Anglesey.

MiniMoon Sun 15-Jan-23 09:48:52

I'd go back to the 1960s, a time before my grandmother developed dementia. I'd ask her all the questions about her family and forebears that I will never have the answers to.

Kate1949 Sun 15-Jan-23 09:58:54

Back to the 1960s.

Germanshepherdsmum Sun 15-Jan-23 10:21:04

1664 to ask my ancestor who married in that year who his father was - the missing link in my family history.

nanna8 Sun 15-Jan-23 10:24:57

Raratonga. I loved it there, so relaxed and friendly.

Oreo Sun 15-Jan-23 10:32:50

Back to a time when I could meet my late Mum for a chat and to warn her not to meet and marry my late Dad, it was disastrous for her.True, I wouldn’t be here now and neither would my DD’s but it would be worth it.

If going to a place for a day, then Japan at cherry blossom time.

hulahoop Sun 15-Jan-23 11:01:15

I would like to go back when my dad was alive who died when I was 5yrs old and ask him about his side of the family.

Germanshepherdsmum Sun 15-Jan-23 11:04:43

I couldn’t bear to go back to see my Mum and other dear family members for just one day - even after many, many years the wounds would reopen.

winterwhite Sun 15-Jan-23 11:07:22

To see the African sky at night.

AreWeThereYet Sun 15-Jan-23 11:09:26

Remember the 'Tomorrow People'? I'm still waiting for my special belt that will take me anywhere, anytime.

I would like to go back to meet my ggm and find out where she came from so we can trace her family line. Her life before marrying my ggf is a mystery.

Blossoming Sun 15-Jan-23 11:13:03

Antarctica

Grandmabatty Sun 15-Jan-23 11:19:27

Arewethereyet I loved The Tomorrow People! It was called jaunting. I wouldn't go anywhere as the past is the past and we can't change it, for good or ill. I have no desire to go anywhere else as I'm fairly content where I am. A very boring person 😂

HeavenLeigh Sun 15-Jan-23 11:21:22

I would go to heaven and find my parents

Kate1949 Sun 15-Jan-23 11:22:27

Or to wander around Venice again and pop into Harry's bar for a Bellini. Even though we knew we were being ripped off, it felt so decadent.

henetha Sun 15-Jan-23 11:25:22

I'd like to go back to watching the flamingos in the Carmargue
in the south of France.

timetogo2016 Sun 15-Jan-23 11:27:39

If you would like company HeavenLeigh, count me in.

BlueBelle Sun 15-Jan-23 11:29:41
