Keeping warm

Sleeveless silky nightie. I slip a cardigan on over it to read in bed then take it off to sleep. 13.5 tog duvet in the winter 4.5 tog spring/summer but same nightwear all year. I have a light throw on top of duvet to keep the cat fur of the bedding , my gorgeous cat sleeps with me . I have a thick long white company towelling dressing gown to wear when I get up to make morning tea . Much more likely to be hot than cold

10.5 tog duvet, long cotton jersey nightshirt, very warm DH, and an electric blanket to warm up my side of the bed before I get in. The heating is set to come on overnight if the indoor temperature drops below 14° but so far it hasn't (we're close to sea level in the West Country.) I do notice if DH gets up early, though!

Wow! I'm another wimp here. No heating on through the night so I wear .... Wait for it .... Socks, sleeveless vest, Fleecy PJ's, sometimes a dressing gown over that. A hot water bottle, two, yes two duvets and sometimes I will still put a fleecy blanket over my shoulders. Then 'sometimes' in the middle of the night, half of it comes off as I'm too warm.
My bedroom is in the attic, old house too. So not much insulation.
Now in summer it's too warm! Can't win.

Long sleeve cotton t shirt (I bought 7 so clean one each night) and knickers. Have flannelette fitted sheet and 15 tog Duvet. Dogs sleep downstairs in the kitchen. Couldn't sleep with them unless dog was very very ill. Did sleep with a puppy that had pneumonia many years ago. She recovered tg.

Looking forward to being able to afford an electric blanket, then I might not need two hot water bottles.

T-shirt and big knickers as I also get tangled up with PJ’s . A light weight wool duvet that’s really cosy but doesn’t make you sweat .I take a hot water bottle to bed as sleeping alone since DH died, I need something to snuggle up to . The room is fairly cool .

Long sleeved pyjamas, 4.5 tog duvet and crochet bedspread on top. Hottie to warm my feet when I get into bed.

Occasionally, if I am not sleeping and go into the spare bedroom: no electric blanket and radiator turned down to '1', I will add a dressing gown.

No heating in the bedrooms at night.

Fleecy pyjama top and pants, hot water bottle (that I kick away after about 5 minutes), duvet, blanket and, just recently, my oodie thrown on top. However, I keep the window open and no heating on in the bedroom as my tortoise is hibernating in the wardrobe!

I wear an oversized t-shirt with just a pair of Bridget Jones pants topped with a 10.5 duvet the cover is teddy fleece as is the fitted bottom sheet I bought these last year and they keep me cosy all night so much so that I bought 2 x extra sets.

I sleep alone, the dog is in her own bed outside my door because she snores her head off and keeps me awake. I use a 7.5 tog duvet and just wear and a vest top and knickers, although I do put a hottie in to take the chill off and then it gets kicked out when I warm up.

Only recently have I thought about the cold overnight. If I wake I can't get back to sleep. I don't have heating on overnight and prefer a cool room often sleeping with an open window. But have noticed if I pop a heavy blanket on the bed I do sleep. Its not the same if I put a fleecy blanket on.

My husband, who is the chilliest mortal in the entire Northern Hemisphere, persuaded me to sleep naked when we were newly married. (Snigger if you must!)

He maintained, quite rightly, as it turned out, that you are much warmer in bed wearing nothing than wrapped up in night-clothes.

It does help if you can afford to warm the bed, either with an electric blanket or with hotties.

Admittedly, we can still afford to have some heating on, but DH, me and two cats in bed - humans under the duvet, felines above it, manage to stay warm all night. Although I do sometimes find my wee black bogle under the quilt that goes over the duvet in the morning.

Sleep with no cloths can’t bear to be restricted in bed when I turn over. Only think that gets cold are my feet

Long sleeved pyjama top, no bottoms. 10.5 tog down and feather duvet with a light fleece throw on top when it’s really cold. I have an electric blanket but it’s in the loft as I haven’t needed it for years. Would have enjoyed it during this cold snap but can’t be bothered to go up and get it, I’d probably need to have it safety checked first as well.

No bedroom heating, ever. I'd have thought window open if I weren't on the ground floor.

I started to wear pyjamas when the Bodach died, for fear I would have a non-fatal stroke during the night and traumatise whoever found me! There is also the chance that a child or grandchild would need a bed for the night and come in after I am asleep and have kicked off covers.

Pj’s, a thermal long sleeved top and socks. Plus an electric blanket heated for an hour before I go to bed.

Gosh, I'm a cold fish compare with you hardy ladies. In mitigation, I do not have heat on in the bedroom or share a bed with anyone.

Pj’s and a long sleeved thermal top plus socks. I heat an electric blanket for an hour before I go to bed.

Our bedroom is unheated, and currently 14C. An all season duvet + a blanket on top, and a nighty with short sleeves. I do put on fluffy socks when I go to bed when it is so cold, but they come off as soon as I am cosy.

I like to wrap up warm in bed, always have.
When my Dad was visiting one winter many years ago, he saw me in my thick pyjamas, socks etc and said, "Blimey, it's no wonder your kids were conceived in the summer" 🤣
