Good morning on another chilly (-2) in La Sarthe.

I hope you enjoy your Warner’s break, Mick. Just what you need at the moment.

Our hedge trimmers did a great job and they also drastically pruned a huge, shaggy, overgrown fir tree. We had a trudge around the garden but it was too cold to do much. DH has left the heating (electric) on for 24 hours since we arrived home so we are very cosy indoors. His cold is receding with no sign of it in me ……! (He thinks it must be a British virus to which I might have more immunity!)

I hope you all have a restful Sunday and happy times for those with plans. 🦩🥰✝️💐🦩

Good morning from a clear E Kent. It seems that the forecast fog hasn’t materialised. It’ll probably form at sunrise.
I received several videos from DD, while visiting the flats. She said that that particular estate agent was totally clueless. She did speak to a much more helpful different agency. The upshot, after a 3-way video call including DS, is that I should visit a couple of places with her, so she can have an idea of what is important to me. Duh! She is going to arrange more viewings and I’ll go with her this time.
She also wondered that , if I wasn’t going to a “proper” retirement flat, did it matter what type of flat I bought. Since it was her idea to go to a retirement village, I forbore to comment.
I didn’t rush our conversation because my relationship with DD, though very affectionate, is rather difficult - on my part at least, as I suffer from acute foot-in mouth-itis.
Today, I’m off to church, then tidy up a bit for the local estate agent’s visit tomorrow.
I hope you all have a quiet day, with a few rays of metaphorical sunshine to light it up.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning, a very cold -6°start to Sunday. Yesterday we had thick freezing fog all day, so murky. I did the ironing then got on with my knitting.
I hope today is brighter!

Good morning, again a very cold wake up in s somerset. Seeing all the unfrozen ice on shady ground, another day when I would be wise to stay indoors

I am going to cook a turkey leg in my slow cooker shortly, only seasonings and no added liquid

Today will evolve, I need to search for a pattern to use 800m of a delicious silk yarn. I finished some socks yesterday and made another (boring) swatch from fine yarn.

I think it is going to be a stove day, the house is cooling

Morning all from a freezing West Oxfordshire. Today I’ll mainly be going through a box of old photos I found in the dismantled wardrobe in younger son’s old bedroom. I think they might be duplicated of photos I have already put in albums. Dinner tonight will be old fashioned beef stew and dumplings followed by chocolate rice pudding with lashings of cream. I’ve also got to get some petrol and blow the tyres up on my car. We are going to visit old friends tomorrow so want to be prepared. Have a good day.

Good morning from the South Downs. -2c at the moment, but forE cast to be a bright day rising to 3c.

Began to tidy some pots yesterday, but was really unpleasantly cold, so I abandoned that idea. Sat reading all afternoon instead.

Tea is just made so will lay in bed with that before off on our morning walk for an hour or so before breakfast.

Nothing major planned today. Chicken and leek casserole for dinner with lemon pudding (I have a surfeit of lemons)

Have a good day one and all.

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull. It’s only going to be about 2 degrees today. Looking forward to warmer temperatures later this week.

Mick I would love to go on a Warner break we definitely intend to one day.

We have DGD here she’s a cutie. She knows she gets away with more at ours like more chocolate than mummy says she can have.
She slept well with me though I didn’t. We were listening to Disney Guitar on Alexa at 2am this morning which lulled her back to sleep until half five. You know when you hear the words ‘grandma can we play….’ Not at half past five. So she watched the Croods on Netflix.
I have tried to put pics on from China for you but they won’t send.

Have a lovely Sunday everyone enjoy your family and friend gatherings and delicious Sunday lunches. Special thoughts to those suffering stress and illness. 🌻🌻

Good morning all from our hotel in Liverpool. Dark and dry at the moment. Yesterday was bitterly cold here.

Journey here went ok. After lunch DH and I visited the Anglican cathedral. Dh was born and bred in this city and my FIL worked as a stone mason on the cathedral in the 50s. We often say as his DIY skills weren’t good it’s a wonder it’s still standing! After an early evening meal with the family DH and I went for a wander around Chinatown. Didn’t stay long as it was so cold.

Today the boys are off to the Arena here. GS is very excited as it is to see Hot Wheels monster trucks Live! It was our birthday gift to him and he’s been counting down the days. It was originally later in the year but was brought forward to this weekend. I think it was clashing with Eurovision. Us girls will have a later breakfast and look at the goings on for Chinese new year. Mid afternoon DH and I move on to Wales our home for a few days.

Have a good day everyone.

kittylester Sun 22-Jan-23 07:33:02

Good morning all from North Leicestershire where the temperature is now -2°.

Not a lot on today - tagine with salad and rice for lunch and an afternoon with the papers.

We had a lovely day with Persie and Wolfie yesterday and Bertie had a great time at crazy golf.

dragonfly46 Sun 22-Jan-23 07:42:44

Good morning from Brighton.

It was a wonderful party last night with all the family but the best part was how my DGD’s face lit up when she saw me and the biggest hug although she isn’t normally a hugger.
Hoping the trains are running on time and no holdups.

Wishing every one a good day.

Gingster Sun 22-Jan-23 07:58:02

Good morning all from ❄️ Essex.

DS2 is due here for breakfast at 8.30. He was out with his old Essex pals last night and will head home to Herts later on.
He was a good help at DD’s yesterday.

I’ll pick Dd and gd up at midday for swimming lesson and then we’ll endeavour to find their cat who keeps disappearing. The neighbours have tried to catch him to no avail. The family are upset ! 🐈‍⬛

Roast chicken later.
Hoping you all have a ‘good’ day.🙏

hollysteers Sun 22-Jan-23 08:05:24

Good morning Mick and all from a cold dark northwest coast.
Day coach trip today to Snowdonia, so wrapping up. Flask of coffee, sarnies etc all ready.
Slept so deeply my bell chimes became part of my dream, good thing I woke up. My mobile is out of order, need a phone shop visit.
A well deserved break Mick and hope viewing goes well grandMattie.

Oopsadaisy1 Sun 22-Jan-23 08:05:27

Good morning from Oxfordshire where it’s -7, at least the fog is lifting, it descended at 8.30 am yesterday and was thick all day.
So a day for staying indoors with the heating on, we leave it on at night when it’s so cold, we don’t want burst pipes.
Been there done that.
Mick have a lovely break, we have been to several Warner holidays, there used to be about 15 of us and we all had a great time, although most of the outdoor activities will be a bit chilly to do at the moment unless the weather warms up a bit.
GM I hope your house is worth masses so that you have loads of choice when you select your next home.
Have a good day everyone, hugs for those who aren’t so chipper. Be careful out there.

Chrissielou Sun 22-Jan-23 08:06:00

Met Office says currently it is -6° in my corner of West Oxfordshire. The fog has cleared and it is bright and clear. It is extremely beautiful from our window, looking over the white frozen fields. An early dog walk is planned once we've had our coffee.
A very lazy day in front of the fire yesterday, reading and catching up with DC.
A chicken curry tonight made by DH. I am in no hurry for the weekend to end.

Marydoll Sun 22-Jan-23 08:09:23

Good morning all from a milder Glasgow, it's 7°C.

I have no plans for today, side effects are dictating my plans.
I may try to get my jewellery mojo back, by repairing two amethyst bracelets.
Dinner will be a traditional roast beef dinner.

For those of you away from home, enjoy your time with your family.
Have a good Sunday, folks.

Anniebach Sun 22-Jan-23 08:17:14

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

harrigran Sun 22-Jan-23 08:17:39

Good morning from a still frosty NE where it is-2.
Family were here until 11pm last night. I am pleased I have a large kitchen as GD1 put her laptop on the worktop and spread her art out. I am just happy she wants to visit when she has a lot of college work to complete.
SIL will visit this afternoon and we will have dinner together, I am going to make duck parmentier and roast root vegetables.
Have a good day.

BlueSapphire Sun 22-Jan-23 08:19:47

Good morning everyone from yet another very frosty day in Northampton, -4° out at the moment. Just enjoying tea and a dark chocolate digestive before I get ready to face the day.

DB-in-law arrived safely yesterday morning; we had a light lunch and then set off to the rugby; it was pretty cold, but we managed to keep warm during the match (helped along by a glass of red wine.!) Sadly not a good result for us....... DD and her DH brought us home.

Off out for lunch today to celebrate DD's 40th birthday with all the family. DD has picked a Jamaican restaurant so that will be interesting.

Hope all have a pleasant Sunday and stay warm.

Grandmabatty Sun 22-Jan-23 08:20:19

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 5°, damp and grey in contrast to many of you. The ice has gone at last. Mick enjoy your trip. Grandmadinosaur dgs1 would love the hot wheels exhibition! He's just a bit too wee for it yet I think.
Yesterday I went out for lunch with dd and dgs1. He was very well behaved, thanked the waitress every time she brought something and said goodbye nicely. He ate most of his macaroni cheese too so got a vanilla ice cream. He made me laugh as he's such a funny wee man. I pottered about the house the rest of the day so everything is done.
Today I'm going for brunch with another friend. I worked with her so she keeps me updated on what is going on. To be honest, I no longer really care, as it's five years since I retired. However she likes to vent from time to time so I fulfill the listening ear well. I'll put on a gammon in the slow cooker and have that with red cabbage for dinner later. Have a good day all. Be careful on the ice and in the fog.

Gwenisgreat1 Sun 22-Jan-23 08:23:12

Good morning all from frosty Harrogate
Dh and I met up with a couple of retired doctors at the church coffee morning yesterday, I was hearing about their daughter and DGDs who I remember as toddlers, but are now working in hospitals as well.
I hope to get to church this morning as well.
Hope you find your flat soon, GrandMattie it’s such an unsettling time
Have the best day possible folks

Abitbarmy Sun 22-Jan-23 08:28:54

Good morning all. Still in bed, iPad says -2 degrees outside. Meant to venture outside to prune the climbing rose yesterday but couldn’t summon up the energy/enthusiasm. However we did get to look after the now 3 month old twins for the first time and DGd came too. Just for a couple of hours which was great and they were very good and so beautiful. Nothing much planned for today other than more sorting of my massive recipe collection, all taken from magazines and newspapers. Hundreds and hundreds, mostly never used. I don’t collect them anymore thankfully, what was I thinking? Have a warm enjoyable day everyone.

Urmstongran Sun 22-Jan-23 08:30:07

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from sunny Málaga. I’m in bed with a second cuppa.
#lazygran

Himself is on the balcony working out why his smartphone keeps glitching. He’s taken my (non smartphone) basic Nokia to call his while he sorts the problem. Probably keep him occupied for some time.
😁

Delicious dinners mentioned on here this morning. I’d happily eat any of them. We’re eating down in Pedro’s tonight, meeting neighbours who are retired and out on a holiday like us, from Bognor Regis. He supports Arsenal and Himself Man. Utd so we are meeting them in the bar after they’ve both watched their teams at home. Doubtless a post match discussion will be their first topic of conversation! Luckily his wife, like me, isn’t fussed so we can catch up on family news.

Enjoy Sunday all who can. x

Jaxjacky Sun 22-Jan-23 08:30:25

Morning all from a frosty S Hampshire, -5, it’s our grandson’s 10th birthday, they’ll be calling in later, better get wrapping!
Enjoy your Warners trip Mick.
We watched a really good film last night, The Bank of Dave, heartwarming.
Football to watch later and loin of pork for dinner.
Have a gentle Sunday all 🦩🦩.

GrannySomerset Sun 22-Jan-23 08:36:05

Much less frosty this morning so the sunlight on the field at the back is glorious. Still cold, though! Church this morning in the smallest of our four churches since the service in our village church is at 9.00 am and I really struggle to be up and out by then at this time of year.

No plans but I have plenty to read and several phone calls to make. I’m
