Welcome dear Kitcheners. Make yourselves comfortable. There is a tasty, virtually calorie-free buffet ready and waiting.

I love it LadyLFL, the curtains look perfect with that wallpaper.

Blossoming Wed 22-Feb-23 11:29:03

Hope you’re enjoying your visitors Galen.

I’m sorry you’ve had another episode Granmarie, your friend’s son is right. Hope Friday’s appointment is productive x

cornergran Wed 22-Feb-23 11:40:04

Love it ladylfl, wish I was as brave as you are with colour. Our home is very boring!

Sound advice from your friend and her son granmarie, lets hope you don't need to follow it. Hope Friday brings some reassurance.

Busy day ahead here, been sorting bits ready for Saturday and trying to keep Mr Nosey away from them. The theme is supposed to be a surprise, any chance? Don't think so grin.

We may be one down as our elder son is poorly I think it's 'the cold' that takes so long to get over. We don't want him left out but on the other hand won't pressurise him to come, if he's unwell then he must stay home and try to recover. We thought of postponing but then common sense kicked in as there's no guarantee everyone could come if we did. I'd miss his help decorating, at 6'5" he can reach most things, his brother will step in if necessary so no worries other than hoping the elder one is better by Saturday. Life eh?

Best get on. I'm supposed to be sorting out a computer oddity which means a call or message to the Apple folk. I know they are very helpful but I don't speak Apple and always get myself in a knot. Wish me luck

Take care everyone.

Sorry, Galen, forgot today was the day. Hope its going well, it will be worth the exhaustion. Now I really must stop procrastinating.

Baggs Wed 22-Feb-23 12:19:15

All the best, galen. I had a nephew like your grandson. At four he was the noisiest child I'd ever come across. He is now a father himself and a good fireman.

I've been getting tonight's tea ready because I won't want to cook when I return from swimming. Carrot and broccoli cheese and my deliciously mildly spicy beluga dal into which, this time, I chucked a tablespoonful of peanut butter cos it needs using up.

Good wishes to all xx

soop Wed 22-Feb-23 13:03:32

Llfl I love your mad spare room. It has oomph.

Galen Bless you. I totally understand your trepidation. All I can say is...go with the flow.

Hello Baggs, your soup sounds moreish. A bowl of it together with our favourite cranberry, nut and raisin bloomer, sounds like a treat.

I am taking a wee step back from the internet for a day or two. Nothing major. I am feeling lack lustre. I have no wish to spoil you lovely lot's fun. In fact, I am comforted by knowing that you are all kind and caring Gransnetters.

For now, I send you gentle hugs. flowers

Hoping all is going well with the visit Galen and it’s not too exhausting!

I love the look of your spare room llfl, I’m such a coward with colour and patterns and always play it safe. I also really like the pink colour of the walls outside the doorway, such a gorgeous colour! Well done with your design ideas

I’m just in from the gym, I did two very daft things this morning, the first being turning up at the gym at 10am for a 10.30am class and the second was forgetting my trainers! Luckily though because I was half an hour early I had time to nip back home for them 🤣

Hope your DS is better soon corner, but like you say he’s better off staying home and looking after himself if he’s not 100%

That sounds so yummy baggs, enjoy the swimming and it’ll warm you up afterwards

Don’t stay away too long soop we’ll miss you x

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 22-Feb-23 14:48:31

Have a relaxing couple of days Soop and see you soon. If you’re away too long I’ll paint your kitchen pink! We’re about to take the cats to the Vet for their annual checkup. OH is suffering an attack of Transient global amnesia at the moment. He woke up with it and it hasn’t gone away yet. This is his third attack so I think he needs to see his GP. Have a good afternoon.

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 22-Feb-23 16:34:51

Vet. What Vet? Ten minutes before we were due to leave the house, Milo did a disappearing act. He reappeared after I had remade the appointment for next week.

Blossoming Wed 22-Feb-23 17:20:30

Good evening dear Kitcheners. I’m curled up in my favourite chair after an invigorating walk by the river. The weather has been dark and stormy here this afternoon but I refused to be daunted! Meat and potato pie for tea, I feel I’ve earned it. I did try taking a pic of the driveway but it was so boring so I took a pic of these mini daffodils I found lurking in a shrub instead grin

Have a good rest Soop and we’ll welcome you back refreshed.

Blossoming Wed 22-Feb-23 17:21:45

I forgot the pic!

BladeAnnie Wed 22-Feb-23 17:44:35

Good afternoon dear kitcheners. Blossoming what a beautiful photo. soop sending hugs 🌷. I met my friend for coffee this morning so the world (according to us) was put to rights 😁😁. Enjoy the rest of your Wednesday. TOYA 🌷🌷

A lovely room Ladylfl, I like the pink contrast against your wallpaper.

I’m going to try to post some Carnival photos in a moment, don’t hold your breath anyone, it might be a dismal failure.

dustyangel Wed 22-Feb-23 17:54:32

Carnaval

dustyangel Wed 22-Feb-23 18:06:45

I’m having no luck at all with the photographs, it’s probably because they’ve been transferred to my pics from two or three other phones. 🤷‍♀️

GrannyGravy13 Wed 22-Feb-23 18:07:38

Hi kitcheners,

Well our evening is not as we planned, after taking the 8yr old to school (he sleeps here on a Tuesday) we had a phone call from DD to say The Imp had been up all night vomiting.

As DH was going to pick him up from after school touch-rugby we had a further call from DD to say she was now vomiting. So we have the 8yr old here again for sleepover, hopefully he will be ok and can go to school tomorrow.

I best get on with homework supervision 🤣🤣🤣🤣

dustyangel Wed 22-Feb-23 18:15:58

Sending hugs for you soop.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 22-Feb-23 18:22:19

Just read previous posts.

(((Hugs))) dear soop 🌸🌸🌸

Jaxjacky Wed 22-Feb-23 18:39:21

Lots of it about GG13, I was called in to sit Fin this morning, on standby for tomorrow, he’s got a temp and sore throat, hand, foot and mouth is doing the rounds.
Hope you’ve got your feet up Galen and have had a lovely day.
We had two friends round for dinner, single men, one cooks well, one not, clean plates all round, a good evening.
Very delicate daffs Blossoming,
I’m soon up to the chippy for our dinner, cod, chips and mushy peas 🙂.
Take care soop and enjoy your evening all.

Grandmabatty Wed 22-Feb-23 19:09:06

Best wishes Soop. Feel better soon. Dgs1 is four today and has had a lovely birthday. His nursery got him a cake and they all sang happy birthday to him twice, at snack time and lunch time. He wanted to come to grandma's house instead of going for ice cream. I'm honoured! Was happy with his presents then home for more. Dd and I visited my friend this morning and DD was really upset at her deterioration. I had warned her but she hadn't expected it. I've had spaghetti Bolognese for dinner and I'm having a quiet evening. All my best to you all

Grannmarie Wed 22-Feb-23 20:28:11

Best wishes, Soop, looking forward to seeing you back soon.

Thank you, Blossoming and Cornergran.

That sounds delicious, Baggs, salmon, couscous and salad for dinner here.

Amazing decor, LLL, and I hope your OH sees the doctor ASAP.

GG13, Jaxjacky, I hope your poorly DGC recover soon.

Happy birthday to your DGS1, Grandmabatty, sounds like he had a great day! Enjoy your quiet evening.

TOYA, NNGB.

Urmstongran Wed 22-Feb-23 20:32:53

‘Evening All’.

GG13 hope the vomiting bug stops soon for your daughter and The Imp. Good you can pick up the slack in the interim!

I’m slightly squiffy tonight. That’s a such an old fashioned word.
‘One over the eight’.j

We met good friends in a nice pub this afternoon. When we left them to walk home we then had to pass several bars on our way home . I persuaded Himself to dive into one of my favourites further up the road. As you do, if you are me. ...

I love it that on our way out of the bar he described me as ‘over relaxed’ ha! He always drinks less than me. I bumped into a doorframe on the way into our hall. That’s a big ‘Hello?’
😱

I got our meal onto the table this evening by automatic pilot.
Have you done that on occasion? I’m sure I can’t be the only one. I don’t do it often, but I’ve had such a nice time. I’m feeling fine now I’ve eaten but I might have a slight ‘heed’ in the morning. So be it. It’ll be my penance.
😱

GrannyGravy13 Wed 22-Feb-23 20:55:43

Urnstongran I said hello to the doorframe on Friday night 🤣🤣🤣

Grandmabatty Wed 22-Feb-23 21:00:04

Urms I had two martinis tonight which is unheard of. The kitchen door was not where I left it. Squiffy is an excellent word

Urmstongran Wed 22-Feb-23 21:25:13

Aw thanks GG13 and batty for your posts!
I feel less like a lush now I know I’m in good company ha!
Can the 3 of us meet up hehe!

It’s almost 9:30pm.
Make up off, pj’s on. Time to make myself scarce.
