Welcome dear Kitcheners. Make yourselves comfortable. There is a tasty, virtually calorie-free buffet ready and waiting.

Bellasnana Fri 03-Feb-23 18:34:24

I rarely pop in nowadays but am very sorry to hear Mr Soop is under the weather. Please, please get well soon. Soop needs you. 💐

Charleygirl5 Fri 03-Feb-23 18:47:43

soop it normally takes 48 hours for antibiotics to "kick in" so hopefully Mr Soop will be back to his usual self next week.

Please look after him as he is very precious to all of his ladies on GN.

The sun was shining here today, I hope it was similar in your neck of the woods.

ShazzaKanazza Fri 03-Feb-23 19:17:06

Thinking of our Mr Soop and his special nurse by his side. 💐💐 hope he feels better soon when the antibiotics kick in.
Sending my virtual hugs to you all 🌻

Nannytopsy Fri 03-Feb-23 19:55:47

Best wishes to MrSoop. Look after him Soop!
We have taken DD’s dog back today and after having the children for 4 days this week, we have collapsed in our chairs! I have a Manhattan and DH has a Negroni. Yesterday’s chilli is now a shepherd’s pie. Llama farmers pie?

SueDonim Fri 03-Feb-23 20:43:58

Naughtyneine I’m so sorry you have this pain to cope with. flowers Maybe one day things will come right. Xxx

All the invalids in my family are improving, thank goodness! I must admit, Dh and I have steered clear of dd’s germ-infested household this week. grin She hopes they’ll be back to normal by Monday. 🤞

A funny old day here of not doing much but being busy anyway. I’ve thought it was Saturday, too, though I’m told it’s Friday. So, weekend, here we come! I hope everyone has a restful time. TOYA. Xxx

brook2704 Fri 03-Feb-23 20:55:36

Lovely to see you here bellasnana hope you’re doing ok x

Urmstongran Fri 03-Feb-23 21:13:05

‘Evening All’

We are home, fed and watered courtesy of the curry house over the road. I always have lamb madras. I need to be more adventurous! I’m a bit rubbish. When I like something I tend to stick to it. Himself comes to mind .... 🤣

Oh Neine 10 grandchildren! No wonder you become distraught at times thinking about them all and your girls. Sounds as though they wanted you to meet someone ‘in the abstract’ but the reality was hard for them to adjust to. So many times I hear of ‘blended families’ not getting on. It must hurt and my heart goes out to you.

Right soop how is your dear man? You have us all concerned at present and we hope for better news tomorrow.

Till then, dear kitcheners. x

Urmstongran Fri 03-Feb-23 21:14:37

Bellasnana are you the lady who lives in Malta?

Oreo Fri 03-Feb-23 21:22:10

Been a difficult few days and am exhausted.Still, family comes first, always.
Wishing Mr Soop better and all others who are ill.💐
Just drinking a cuppa and eating some chocolate cake I found on the kitchen worktop in here, it didn’t have anyone’s name on so thought it was safe to scoff?

cornergran Fri 03-Feb-23 21:43:18

Sorry to hear mr soop is so unwell. He sounds be as good (bad!) a patient as Mr C who drove the nurses in the day ward to distraction. My love to you both soop, I know you’ll be so worried, try and rest.

It’s felt a manic, not always comfortable week. Lots going on. Looking forward to tomorrow, we’re due a visit from our Littlest and his minders. Apparently he needs exercise on the beach. Hmm, not sure either of us have enough energy for that. May find a seat on the pier and watch his parents do the exercising.

Neine I was saddened to read of your situation and am full of admiration for your ability to cope. The situation you shared reminded me of how fortunate I really am. No, we don’t see any of them as frequently as we would like to but the contact remains. Something we need to remember and value.

Time to sort ready for tomorrow. Sleep well everyone. TOYA.

So sorry Mr Soop is poorly, much love coming from down here to up there xx

Bellasnana Sat 04-Feb-23 10:50:37

Thank you brook, yes I’m fine. I have a new lease of life now as I look after my twin grandsons Monday to Friday now that DD3 is back at work. They are almost 10 months and doing well after being born 7 weeks early.

Yes, Urmston, I do live in Malta. Back in September I went on a cruise with Galen and we stopped at Malaga so I thought of you.

I’ve also been to visit my granddaughter in the US who is turning 12 this month! She was the reason I joined GN about ten years ago. Hadn’t seen her since before Covid so it was worth the long haul to get to see her and my two eldest DD’s.

Take care dear kitcheners, especially our soop. How is Mr Soop today? Hope he’s on the mend.🤞

What a lovely bunch of caring folk we have to share our good, sad and indifferent days with. You are a joy.

Mr Soop is sleeping. When he awakes, I shall pass on All your kind and caring messages.
He has barely moved from his favourite chair for any longer than it takes to have a bathroom break. His temperature is lower than it was yesterday morning. He finds it difficult to swallow as his throat is extremely sore. Thankfully, "the shakes" and wobbly walking has subsided. I was afraid that he might take a tumble. I would not be able to lift him and would most certainly panic. He has no appetite. I am doing my utmost to persuade him to increase his fluid intake. He can, at times, be a tad stubborn. wink I need to be firm...or else.

A friend in the village will be dropping by with the daily paper. I no longer have the confidence to drive the car. A smaller, automatic would be ideal should Mr Soop elect to change motors.

Sweetie Pie (feral cat) is lolling on his tartan rug in the utility room. He has feasted on four pouches of "quality" cat food together with a bowl of biscuits. Not a bad start to the day. grin

I’m pleased to hear Mr, Soop is a little better x

I’m working myself up to getting out of this recliner and going for a walk. It’s not raining and the troublesome wind seems to have dropped. The forecast is another cold snap wit sub zero temperatures from tomorrow evening so I must make the most of it smile. I also need to count out the next two weeks meds, write a couple of cards and sort out a messy heap of Gaelic notes.

Hope everyone has a good afternoon and evening.

Grandmabatty Sat 04-Feb-23 13:58:08

I'm glad MrSoop is a little better. Bella's Anna it was so lovely to see you posting and thank you for your update. A very busy gran. Blossoming I'm impressed you take written notes. I have a couple of text books, courtesy of Brook's advice, but I am relying on all my Spanish vocabulary being in my memory.
Dgs1 and I are having rip-roaring time. He had lunch in his tepee and has set up his trainset and his animals. He received an e-card from my friend in hospital and he made a wee film to thank her. He's a wee bit out of sorts with a dodgy tummy so we're staying home. Have a good afternoon kitcheners.

Grandmabatty Sat 04-Feb-23 13:58:35

Should say Bellasnanna

Yiayia4 Sat 04-Feb-23 15:55:14

Chicken with Parma ham and asparagus for dinner plus a chilled Rose.Enjoy your evening everyone.

brook2704 Sat 04-Feb-23 16:04:11

Thank you for all your news bellasnana it’s good to hear you’re doing so well. Twin DGS, how lucky are you! I bet they’re keeping you very busy but so enjoyably exhausting I expect. So lovely that you’ve also been able to catch up with your other DDs and granddaughter too, I hope you all had a lovely get together. You’re always welcome in the kitchen whenever you’ve time to pop in. Take care and say hi to Galen too
Hoping MrSoop feels a bit better soon Soop, good that his temperature has come down a bit. Hope you can persuade him to have a few sips of tea or a cold drink to keep his fluids up - maybe tea with lemon and honey if he likes it
I’m seriously impressed that you’re learning Gaelic Blossoming, well done you. I used to take notes when I had my Spanish lessons grandmabatty but I don’t really bother now, but also rely on memory. I hope you found the books ok! Sounds like you’re having another fun filled day - enjoy!
The rain has arrived here now but I’m pleased that I got a couple of hours gardening in earlier. I feel much better for being outside.

brook2704 Sat 04-Feb-23 16:04:47

Pleased you’re feeling a bit better Yia, 💐

Blossoming Sat 04-Feb-23 16:28:35

Grandmabatty you would not be impressed if you saw how untidy they are!

Duvet days are a necessity sometimes Yia glad you’re feeling a bit better. Your dinner sounds delicious.

I’ve had a lovely stroll, time for a nap now.

soop Sat 04-Feb-23 16:38:48

Mr Soop smiled when I told him about his ladies sending him get well messages. Thank you.

Nannytopsy Sat 04-Feb-23 16:43:50

Glad to hear there’s some improvement in the soop household and I hope it carries on. I have nearly finished the ironing! It’s taken a week 🙄 I shall do the last bits with the rugby. Come on England!

soop Sat 04-Feb-23 16:44:05

I am going to enjoy a G&T later. Perhaps Mr Soop may wish to sample a hot toddy. We shall raise a glass of cheer to every one of you lovely lot.

Until tomorrow. smile moon and healing vibes to those Kitcheners who are feeling under the weather. flowers

soop Sat 04-Feb-23 16:45:01

Nannytopsy Come on Scotland! smile

Jaxjacky Sat 04-Feb-23 16:51:49

I’m pleased Mrsoop is showing some improvement and that Yia is having a better day.
I dug up some of my leeks, rather small, but they’ll make a tasty tart later, then immersed myself in the paper before watching Ireland triumph in the rugby. We’re now watching England play, sports mad in this house!
Enjoy your evening all.
