The greatest invention of the 20th century was soft toilet paper. I am old enough to have suffered the discomfort of Izal/ Bronco etc. Even in the 1970s my in-laws has this in their lavatory.

Families goes without saying, but although I really love my iPhone, I have to say I agree with you about soft toilet roll.

For me, the only thing Izal was useful for, was tracing paper!

The internet. I love the way you can just ask questions about everything.

When I was a student, everything had to be looked up in books and there were never enough copies in the library.

My sewing machine, invaluable over the years. Our dogs and our children and grandchildren. Lovely to watch them all , evocative of time with my Nan .

My BAHA hearing aid - it connects to my phone through bluetooth and also to a microphone which helps to hear the TV and people!

My hearing aids, and since last year I have ones that connect to Bluetooth on my phone. Game changer, as phone conversations go straight to my hearing aids!

Me too. Also, in common with many others, my iPad. It kept my teaching going through all the lockdowns and even now l have pupils online; some permanently and some occasionally. It is also easier to use and much more convenient than a computer. My hearing aids are vital to me as a musician and, because they connect to Bluetooth, mean I can control my volume and settings from my mobile phone.

The absence of thick rind on bacon. Although miss it as used to put it out for the birds

iPad, mobile phone, fleece, Velcro, gel nail polish, SatNav, bubble wrap, Ugg boots, stretch denim, varifocals, mascara (when was that invented?🤔 I’ll look it up on my iPad!😂)

I’m amazed that I’m the only one to say their car.
I have always loved the independence and freedom to go anywhere at anytime.

Electricity! We only had gaslight until I was around 10 years old. I still remember the hissing sound - and my hair catching fire when I stood up on a chair too close to the light. I also remember the excitement on the day we had electricity installed, running through the house turning on every light switch. I am 67!

Best of luck with your new hearing aids- and why wouldn't you be excited?
Its not very nice to be isolated from all around you when you can't hear clearly so enjoy your regained hearing ability.
