I will do a local early shop for a few basics before I go to on the bus to Bicester .
I then return lunch ,and watch cycling on TV.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it looks a bit brighter than yesterday and less windy, still cold though at just 5º
Good to hear from you marydoll hope you’re comfortable and a treatment plan can be found soon
Love the snowdrops grammaretto a first sign of spring on the way. There’s a wood near to here that usually has loads of snowdrops so you’ve prompted me to go out for a walk soon to see them!
Today I’m off to the gym for a circuits class with a really good trainer, most of the ladies who attend are a similar age to me so he goes very gently with us ! After that I’ll be at the aqua zumba, that’d always great fun and a good laugh.
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Builders finished work on the roof yesterday so am now waiting for a painter to touch up rendering which had to be reinstated - only a small patch but necessary. Have the appropriate paint in the garage and hope it is still OK - dates from when new windows were installed about four years ago. Getting rid of the scaffolding will take longer.

Will toddle up to market but nothing else planned. Yesterday finished up with a series of phone chats so felt quite busy. Reminder to self to initiate phone conversations more often.

Glad Mdoll is still in captivity and hoping for positive news. Hope everyone has a good enough day.

Greyduster Fri 03-Feb-23 08:24:40

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a grey, cool South Yorkshire. I had a completely flat day yesterday. Couldn’t settle to anything so gave up in the end. I think the rest did me good though - I feel much better this morning. DD is coming over for what has become her usual Friday visit to help around the house, and my car will come home today. I may not use it a lot at first but it will be nice to know that I can.
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning from Glasgow. Forecast is 11deg. and windy.

Hairdressers later for a cut and blow dry, my hair and nails grow rapidly. Nails I have always done myself but my hairdressing skills usually end up in a messy bun. A visit to the salon is more like a social event, meeting up with regulars for coffee and blethering. L has been doing my hair since he was a junior and is now a grandfather! Another reminder of how times fly.

Thankfully you were in the right place Marydoll. Don’t be too hard on your DH, parking at Betty’s is a nightmare. Hoping some progress will be made for you today. 🤞

Best wishes to all for a good day.

Grandmabatty Fri 03-Feb-23 08:25:58

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 7° and dry. It doesn't look as windy either. Ash I hope the 'problem' is resolved or should that be dissolved? Marydoll it sounds like you are being well looked after. ginny good luck with your dd's house move.
Yesterday was the return of my art class. It was on a different day, different time with mainly different people. It's always good to mix things up. I've attached my first effort which needs to be finished, however I'm fairly pleased with it as I haven't done anything for over two months.
Today I'm heading to Glasgow to visit my friend in The Beatson, a cancer hospital inside Gartnavel hospital. And Marydoll, I'm not driving! Two trains should see me there. My friend has opted not to have chemo but palliative care instead. It's very brave of her as the chemo would only have a very limited short term effect and her body probably wouldn't cope with it. So we'll enjoy the time she has left on her terms. No idea what I'll have for dinner. Possibly gnocchi with chorizo in a tomato sauce. Have a good day all.

Good morning from the Black country.
Haven't posted for a while problems with my tablet and my phone is still pre stone age (my choice). It's amazing the things I've got done with no distractions from being on my tablet doing competitions.
Still need to catch up on everybody's news but I see things are moving for GM regarding her house sale. And Marydoll I do hope they can find some treatment to get you out and about again.
Well will get myself a cuppa 🍵 and catch up with everybody's happenings.
Enjoy your Friday everyone and may you all find some ☀️.

Good morning from high cloud in S Hampshire. Your bee and butterfly bed sounds lovely WWM2, as is the picture of snowdrops Grammaretto, thank you.
MrJ is back to the surgery later to have his wound packed with seaweed and re dressed, I think this will be a long haul.
Tesco delivering today, they’ve been great for weeks, nothing missing or substituted.
Enjoy your day 🦩🦩

Good morning from what my DH has just described as a’ nothing kind of day’,,,no sun, wind, rain just still and a bit dull. I’m feeling a bit stiff after my 2 classes on Wednesday and yesterday. Both seemed to be more lively than usual and that was felt by others in the group so I didn’t feel too feeble.

Apart from our usual dog walk and getting my car cleaned it will be a quiet day. I had planned to take my car yesterday but the road was closed because a car had flipped over and was on its roof. The roads around here have been ice free for over a week now but still look as though they have black ice on them. DH says it is a mix of mud, grease etc and is just as slippery so dangerous if driving too fast. Seeing such things makes me more anxious about driving but living where we do,it’s vital.

Hope those with worries find some relief today and we all find pleasure in what we are do today.

Jaxjacky Fri 03-Feb-23 08:40:26

I just read your post as a ‘circus class’ at the gym*brook*!,

Marydoll Fri 03-Feb-23 08:41:13

Grandmabatty have you got the train to there before? If you you haven't, cross the railway bridge when you get off and the paths leads directly to the hospital.

I may write a guide to all the Glasgow hospitals, with reviews. 😆

Alygran Fri 03-Feb-23 08:42:12

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Another dry and cloudy day.
I did lots of gardening yesterday, even mowed the back lawn and I’m pleased it all looks tidy again. Lots of hellebores, snowdrops and aconites starting to brighten the garden up.
Today’s plans are shopping and coffee with a friend. This evening I have 3 episodes of Happy Valley to watch ahead of the finale on Sunday.
Best wishes to all.

Gwenisgreat1 Fri 03-Feb-23 08:43:04

Good morning all from dismal Harrogate
What a shock to receive the bill now for the wake GrandMattie, and my DH like yours would not pay to park at the hospital, but would bus it or walk.
Hope the hospital soon have a satisfactory solution Marydoll
Today I really hope to get to the town. Just haven’t felt up to it recently
Have the best day possible folks

Good morning everyone from an overcast Northampton, 9° outside at the moment.

Urmston be prepared for a very long film, Tar is 2 and three-quarter hours long, (so make sure you visit the ladies first)! Cate Blanchett is brilliant as the 'maestro', but I found the film quite dark. And the sound isn't brilliant, either they were mumbling or my hearing is going. The music is sublime though. Don't think that's a spoiler! Looking forward to The Fabelmans on Sunday.

My usual Friday shopping trip out today,.Coffee and something to eat in the M&S Cafe, and a mooch around the shops to pick up a few extras. (And look for stuff for my holiday next month.....)

Wishing all a good Friday.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 03-Feb-23 08:44:18

I’ve overslept! Back later.

NannyJan53 Fri 03-Feb-23 08:47:33

Good morning from an overcast Black Country.

Great walk yesterday from Baggeridge, then chat and coffee in cafe afterwards. u3a monthly meeting in the afternoon, where we had a talk on a local man John Corbett, who our local hospital is named after.

Gym this morning, then no real plans, so go with the flow.

Good to see you posting monk I was wondering where you were. Glad all is ok

Wishing you all a good Friday

Grandmabatty Fri 03-Feb-23 08:50:40

Marydoll thank you. No, I've never been there before so any advice is welcome!

baubles Fri 03-Feb-23 09:02:18

Good morning all from damp South Lanarkshire.

Groundhog Day in Edinburgh yesterday but always lovely to spend time with the children.

I’m not sure what we will do today but I do need to buy birthday presents for DD’s youngest so a trip to the shops is probably on the cards.

Smashing photo Grammaretto, they’re such hopeful little flowers aren’t they. Your energy levels put me to shame.

Love the shiny red apples Grandmabatty.

Make the most of the peace and quiet Marydoll.

Have the best day possible everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 03-Feb-23 09:04:14

Morning all

I have overslept after a long busy but enjoyable day yesterday.
I am off to the gym, will catch up with the thread later.

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Good morning everyone and thinking of those who are not feeling so sprightly this morning. Sending my best to Marydoll down the road in Glasgow. I'm off to the fracture clinic this morning for my painful broken shoulder. Hope the rain stays off for everyone!

Wyllow3 Fri 03-Feb-23 09:12:42

Good Morning from an overcast S Yorks.

I’m a little further on in my 2 week “cancer wait”. got one of the tests come through and waiting for the important one.
Quiet day ahead, it’s been quite a week and quite a shock.

Always enjoy seeing what everyone is up to.

Marydoll so glad you are a comfy-enough place not a big ward. I hope further tests real something to guide treatment better. what a lovely DGD. Is there anywhere where hospital parking is good?

Glad you “listened to your body” yesterdayday Greyduster and have a bit more oooompf today.

Hope your shoulder heals yogitree swell as it can.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 03-Feb-23 09:18:35

Hello all from West Oxfordshire. I didn’t wake up until 8.40 am. I hope OH is going to Oxford to buy some clothes. He bought some things in our local charity shops yesterday. But really… I have to wait in until the post person has been. I tried sending a birthday present to my brother in Australia yesterday. I was told I had to do it myself online as there had been IT problems. I may make some of my favourite rum and ginger muffins. I also need to buy petrol and collect a coat from the cleaners. That’s it really! Have a good day. Commiserations to those suffering. M. Doll.💐💐💐

ShazzaKanazza Fri 03-Feb-23 09:21:15

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull. It’s dry and breezy.

yogitree your shoulder sounds so painful💐
Marydoll I’m so sorry to hear you are in hospital but good you are getting the tests treatment and care you are desperately needing at last. 💐
Love the painting Grandmabatty you are very talented.,

My uncle’s cattaract op didn’t go ahead yesterday. He was all gowned up ready to go when the Dr came to talk him through the op and on noticing his other eye looked sore and red decided he probably had an infection and called the op off. My uncle had cancer behind his left eye many years ago so it weeps occasionally and he wipes it roughly with his hanky straight from his pocket. I’m always telling him to use a clean tissue then throw it away but 🤷‍♀️
He came home with antibiotic drops for both eyes for two weeks and his op rescheduled for March. He was so disappointed. I called in to Mums on the way back to give her the news and took her to Aldi to get her shopping.

Have a good day everyone. Thinking of those with family concerns and illness🌻🌻

hulahoop Fri 03-Feb-23 09:22:03

Good morning from a wet West York's, shopping today this afternoon taking neighbour for blood test ,hope all have a good day.

dustyangel Fri 03-Feb-23 09:24:35

Good morning from the Algarve. It’s a calm, bright day and 10°
DH has a hospital appointment about his cataract this afternoon, but forgot to ask whether he’d be able to drive home afterwards. A taxi both ways would be simpler.

luluaugust Fri 03-Feb-23 09:32:42

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Supermarket trip this morning and then DGS5 birthday takeaway tea. He will be 12 tomorrow so is going out with his friends. Looking forward to seeing some of the family.
Nice to see you back Monk and glad something is now happening Marydoll
Take care everyone.
