Good Morning Everyone,
Dark as usual but dry here in brackley .
A day shall I or shall I not get the bus to Bicester for a couple of hours this morning.
I did go out yesterday , but found the cold air was making it feel worse , only hope milder conditions return , with a more seasonal feel about the days.
Take Cae,
Mick

Good Morning Thursday 9th February 2023
(50 Posts)Good morning from a very chilly Sarthe!
I think you’re wise to keep out of the cold, Mick; we all have to consider our well-being first and foremost.
Yesterday, we spent some hours on sorting and filing DH's paperwork, some of which dated back to 2017! (probably the last time we had a purge!) In the afternoon, we were pleased to find it was warm enough to have a cuppa on the terrasse (wearing fleeces!) where the sun was pleasant.
Cleaner due this morning. I wonder what the latest catastrophe will be in the saga of her life.
Enjoy whatever you have planned and I hope your eye is responding to treatment, grandMattie. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩
Good morning Mick, a dry start here on the hill in Wiltshire.
Not a lot happening here, I completely overdid it on Monday and my get-up-and-go has vanished!
Pootling and pottering for me today!
Good morning from Shropshire.
A mixed day with mum yesterday. Our meal was lovely but the service was very slow and mum was getting fed up.We then went to the bank as my brother had changed mum’s accounts and she was totally confused. He had done it with good intentions to get her more interest but at 90 she isn’t bothered about interest.I understand the new accounts now but although I explained it to mum when we got home she was very tired so more explaining will be necessary next time we visit. She is happier that I now understand so that’s something. We were exhausted when we got home😴
We are looking after H today so had better get up as they will be arriving soon.We will go to playgroup this morning then just a couple of hours at home until it is time to collect Miss M.
The cleaner sounds hard work Ash🤦🏼♀️
Take it easy today Blue and hopefully you will get your get up and go back.
Have the best day you can everyone🦩
A late good morning from me in E Kent. The eastern sky is red at the horizon, likely to E very beautiful in a few minutes.
As I had had only about three hours sleep the previous night, I took a pill and slept. Dry well.
When I went to bed, my eyes were still very red indeed, the eyeballs still feeling too big for the socket and a big bruise below my right eye. I did look a sight. This morning, the bloodshot appearance has subsided somewhat, though not clear, and the bruising and inflammation much reduced. The ointment seems to be working. That’s some infection!
With my eyesight compromised, I just sat most of yesterday, and plan the same today, missing out on Spanish as I feel I mustn’t drive the 15 minutes to class.
Ash, I cleared out DH statements from 2003! Old cheque book stubs from the previous millennium, etc. he seems to have been much more of a hoarder than I thought, though keeping information and receipts is useful. Sometimes there are too many from too long ago.
Carpe diem/horam dear friends. 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩
Good morning from frosty Colchester where there's a red sky sunrise.
Up early as we're chauffeuring DGS2 to school and DD2 to a midwife appointment afterwards. She doesn't have a car as her partner takes it for work and is not well enough to do 2 long walks as this pregnancy isn't suiting her as usual.
We'll be home late morning and DH is going fishing so I'll get the house shipshape.
Love to all 🦩 x
Good morning all from East Yorkshire.
There’s still a very bright moon in the sky and it is dry.
I had a cull of books and took them to a charity shop yesterday. On the way DH and I had a coffee and a quick shop at M&S food. Hurried home in time to meet the engineer who was due to service the boiler between 1 and 3. Of course he didn’t arrive at all. That is so frustrating but DH will be on the phone to them first thing. Meanwhile I had met DIL for a coffee. She seems and admits to feeling a bit off. She was the same on Sunday when we saw her. I’m wondering if it could be post natal depression?
I’ve no plans for today but will get out somewhere for a few hours and GS will be here after school to keep us amused!
Glad to hear your eyes are a bit better GM
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning from Essex by the sea where it feels cold.
I arrived home from DD2 yesterday late morning.
We went food shopping during the afternoon and I did a pile of ironing.
Today I will be catching up with housework and hopefully getting out for a walk.
Enjoy whatever Thursday brings xx
Good morning all from damp South Lanarkshire.
Thursday means Edinburgh and childminding but I’m waiting for DH to make the coffee before I make a move.
Another busy day yesterday and I had to force myself out to my yarn group in the evening, I’m glad I did though, it’s very companionable.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning all from Glasgow, where it's 5°C.
Like GM, I can hardly see. My Sjogren's flared up badly in hospital and I look as if I have been crying non stop, so you will be pleased to read, a very short post from me today.
Fortunately, I have a prescription for eye drops specifically for that condition.
Take care all.
Hello older on site than this chat. Medical appointment today in rush hour so unable to remain out if cold. Village fete week end so something to look forward to. Enjoy your day
Good morning from the South Downs. Still chilly but dry and crisp underfoot which makes for much pleasanter walking. The birds are in fine fettle too and sorting out their nests, singing as they go.
We have a boarded ceiling! Today the loft insulation goes up and plastering. At last.
I did very little yesterday having no mojo, so hope it has returned today and will carry on gardening. Always best to go with the flow - that is the glory of being retired - you can listen to your body and doddle along as it requests.
Must drink my tea and off we go for another potter in the fresh air. The dog is gradually getting more and more deaf so I have to stay in sight or he dashes off in the wrong direction looking for me and I can’t run fast enough to let him see me.
Enjoy your day one and all. Keep well and happy.
Good morning. S somerset is 5 degrees and the birds are very noisy. Sky is grey at the moment, sunny later
I did a lot yesterday and all was enjoyable. I did start on clearing out excess garden stuff, I am making room for bulk log storage The local friendly tip is less than a mile away and I shall continue with that work today. I am still transitioning from an allotment brain to a small garden
I have sewing and knitting in reserve, depending on the weather. The house is clean and I have meals sorted so I shall be outside as soon as I get that pull from the sun. My main priority right now is to fully emerge from hibernation, which brings my energy back and to take advantage of spring beauty, which will happen soon
All the best to everyone today
Good morning from chilly Leicestershire.
So pleased to be back in my own bed last night and now sitting up looking at the lovely view up the hill.
My DH has an appointment at the hearing specialist this morning. He says his hearing aids aren’t working.
Just as we were driving off from DD’s DH realised he had left his glasses and phone behind. I had already shut the door so nothing to be done. It won’t matter a lot as he can see okay without glasses and he never gets any phone calls!
Sorry to hear you are not so good Marydoll but pleased GrandMattie’s eyes are a little better.
Wishing every one a good day.
Good morning all from a chilly and cloudy North Leicestershire.
Not much going on today apart from our gardener coming to finish the garden. She is clearing one bed and has already taken out the vast euphorbia as well as doing the general work. She is also taking out an inaccessible, overgrown pyracantha.
Sainsbury's delivery this afternoon.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning all from chilly but dry Harrogate.
Good idea To keep out of the cold Mick. I have to go out to a meeting about lung function- a monthly meeting in Harrogate.
My DH, too, hoards bank statements forever, and loads of other paperwork. He expected me to show him one of my statements from 2011 and was horrified to hear I clear them out after 7 years!
GrandMattie and Marydoll you have my sympathy having to put up with eye problems, hope you are both better soon.
Have the best day possible folks
Good morning all from the Angus coast. It was a lovely moonlit morning at 7am - the is rising, but the moon's still there. I'm a very reluctant early riser, but once a week for tai chi isn't too bad I suppose.
After tai chi I am taking my friend out for lunch. The poor soul is very upset because she is going to have to move. She currently lives in a little converted coach house in her son's garden, but he and his wife are wanting to move to a smaller house. It's such a shame for her, but there's nothing I can do other than provide a sympathetic ear. Anyway, that's today sorted.
Have a good day everyone - Spring's not far away now and already we can feel the warmth in the sun x
Good morning .
DH says Thank you for the birthday wishes yesterday.
DD3 and boys will be calling in first thing and this afternoon I have sewing club.
Cup of tea waiting for me so must dash. Wishing you all a good day.
Good morning all and we have another frost 🥶.
Yesterday Dh had an appointment with the neurologist at midday at the hospital. We drove round and round looking for a parking spot. In the end I dropped him off and got in the queue for one of the car parks. He was out just as I found a spot 😤. I had wanted to go in with him to air my concerns! Nothing untoward was found with the head scan so no further appointments. We all know he’s not right! Of course now he thinks he’s fine and won’t bother to pursue further advice from us (family/friends, ) . MEN!
Today I’m meeting my old school pal for coffee and a pastry.
We’ll chat for a couple of hours and raise our lattes to our friend who is visiting family in Oz. Might even try to FaceTime her.
I hope your Sjogrens flare up is brief MD. - how annoying for you..
Keep warm Mick - best to stay indoors until it gets a bit warmer.
I must start my painting by numbers this afternoon. My enthusiasm has waned since I saw how intricate it is. I should have started with a small simple piece. . That’s my trouble - ideas above my station 😂. I want to be a concert pianist in a week. 😢🙄.
Enjoy your day
Morning from clear sky S Yorks, we may have sun.
Cleaner here soon, she's lovely (no tales of woe), an ultrasound later, but apart from that having a slumping couch day as yesterdays dressing gown day turned out to be anything but.
May poorlies have a healing day, and family plans go well: Grandmadinosaur hope its not post natal d.
Grandmadinosaur I am sorry your DIL is feeling out of sorts. It is a positive that she is talking about how she feels and that she has you to talk to💐
grandMattie and Mary I hope your eyes co to use to heal as the day goes on.
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it looks grey and wet but not as wild and windy as yesterday
Hope your eye is much better soon gMattie, good idea to stay home today although I know you’ll miss going to your Spanish class
A quieter day for me today, hopefully I’ll get out into the garden for an hour but if not I’ve lots to jobs waiting keep me busy inside. DH will be out most of the day, work this morning and then taking DGS to his football practice later on.
Hope your DIL feels a bit better soon grandmadinosaur, nice that you could meet her for a coffee though and she can talk to you
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning from Durham. I was up very early, but phone battery flat, so I couldn’t report on the moon. Still chilly here.
New car day - I’m collecting it this afternoon - but now a bit worried that it’s too small and I’m going from the sublime to the ridiculous!
DD2’s little dog here while her DH is away as it makes things easier for her with DGS2 to look after.
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning from a frost free Suffolk. The miniature daffodils in a pot near the front door have drooped over for the last 3 mornings but, with later sun, have been revived. The power of sunshine for flowers as well as us.
Off to my stretch class in less than an hour and then coffee with a friend afterwards. I fear the ironing pile will topple over if I don’t tackle it this afternoon.
Hope today is a good one for all.
Have hairdresser coming first thing and then the computer man to try to find out why my laptop won’t print, something I ought to be able to work out but have failed to do. Yesterday was lovely with coffee with friends and then singing and beautiful sunshine which lifted the spirits enormously.
My sympathy to granMattie and Marydoll and to anyone feeling less than well.
