Yesterday did my trip to Bicester on the bus , busy as usual , started with my coffee and bacon, egg and tomatoes
sarnie .
Today a quiet day in cycling on TV most of the time as well.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a chilly but fine Sarthe.

This is our last morning in France as we drive to Ouistreham today for the 16.30 ferry to Portsmouth where we'll stay overnight at Travelodge.

Have a blessed Sunday, whatever you’re doing. 🦩💐✝️🥰🦩

Whitewavemark2 Sun 12-Feb-23 06:09:49

Good morning from the South Downs. We are going through a period of very quiet weather, long May it last.

I can smell that “sarnie” Mike I’m going to look and see if we have any bacon.

Say goodbye to your little cats ash and enjoy your journey home.

Getting the vax out today and clean the bedroom carpet before all the furniture arrives back on Tuesday. We do have the decorators to come but dust sheets etc should protect everything and they can’t possibly make the mess that taking the ceiling down made.

Mushroom and blue cheese pasta for dinner.

Enjoy your day peeps.

Good morning from E Kent. I didn’t look out of the window, but I’m almost certain it’s cloudy with th absolutely no chance of rain.
Bon voyage Ash. I hope yesterday’s jolly went well, MD.
Quiet day again yesterday. I nearly finished Iris’ replacement hat, when she telephoned to say she’d found it! Ah well…
I’ve been making a few more patchwork squares to make a little lap quilt. I had 10 squares left from a previous project. Can’t let the go to waste!
Church this morning and a chicken curry this evening. Might talk to DS, if he’s free.
Have a happy Sunday. Carpe diem/horam 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning, two different forecasts for s somerset today, no rain and could just be a flat white/grey sky all day

I did a 3 hour overnight eco wash, full load that needs to go outside at 8. I shall do a batch bake of small crumbles as I want to use up the rest of my bottled gooseberries. and make a nut loaf. I have hm crumble topping in the freezer. Little by little, I am making freezer space available for the end of may when I will have a glut of berries

More marmalade was made yesterday and I do like the satisfying jar pop of a successful seal

Not too much doing today, maybe out on my bike for an hour and some spinning as I have some fluff to finish to yarn. An easy pleasant day ahead

BlueBalou Sun 12-Feb-23 06:37:03

Good morning, it’s a cloudy day forecast here for my corner of Wiltshire.
I actually got all the bulbs planted yesterday so feeling pleased with myself 😊
DDog and I had a nice early walk , met several friends en route all walking their dogs so a good time to go.
Didn’t achieve much else, couldn’t settle to anything for some reason, ended up having a long, early bath and retreating to bed with a book!
Today I have someone coming to look at doing me a patio where the small vegetable bed is, then I can move the swinging chair off the top patio where it hogs the space, and rearrange the rest of my pots etc. it should look much neater and be easier to look after 🤞🏻
Roast pork and all the trimmings for lunch, I will make a plum crumble too 😋

Kalu Sun 12-Feb-23 07:10:20

Good morning from Glasgow. 6deg, calm and dry, supposedly reaching 11deg this afternoon. That’s more like it.

DD1 and the girls are coming for lunch, roast lamb for four and a veggie meal for GD1. We too will have crumble today, a rhubarb filling for us. As it is mid term break now, we may have lodgers staying tonight.
GD2 and I used up some craft scraps to make a valentine wreath. Not that DH and I bother with Valentine’s Day much now but it was GD2’s idea so who am I to disagree with her, she loves it. ❤️

Hoping a good Sunday is ahead for all.

Good morning from Durham. I woke very early for the loo (again) and if I find out who has given me this cold, I’ll be having words, having just got rid of the last one. Have dozed a bit, but wide awake now. Leg has been aching this week, but I think it’s the different seat position in my new car. Not planning on doing much today.
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning I believe the sun is going to shine here in Leicestershire.

Going to an open gardens in Derbyshire today. They seldom open and I hear they are spectacular.
Roast beef for dinner.

That’s a lovely wreath Kalu.
Hope Marydoll’s party went well yesterday.
Wishing everybody a good day and the travellers a good journey.

Abitbarmy Sun 12-Feb-23 07:52:14

Good morning all from a dry quiet North Yorkshire. I’ve been sleeping very late some days so don’t post on here often, but always read everyone’s news. I’m hoping to do a bit more seed sowing today and general pottering outside. Going to make a nut loaf for tea but need to go to the supermarket to get stuff and don’t relish that idea. Might go as soon as it’s open, get it out of the way. Might get some bacon too for that sandwich that you made sound so inviting Mick. I’m a meat eater whilst DH only eats chicken or turkey, hence the veggie tea. Have a good day everyone.

Pittcity Sun 12-Feb-23 07:59:34

Good morning from a grey but dry and mild Colchester.
I got the garden tidy yesterday and moved things around.
I have admin to do today as it's nearly the 2nd anniversary of us downsizing into the City centre. Comparison websites here I come.
Roast chicken tonight.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning from Shropshire.

A quiet day hopefully. We took the children home yesterday afternoon and DD treated us all to fish and chips which was lovely.DGD is always practicing gymnastics and dancing and don’t ask me how but she managed to put her foot in DH’s freshly made coffee.Cue absolute panic from the adults while DGD stayed cool as a cucumber. We have just had a message to say the foot is fine this morning😅

H screamed when we left to come home.He is so contrary, always wants who isn’t there!

Grandmabatty, I’m so sorry to hear you have diabetic neuropathy and hope there is a suitable treatment for you💐

Safe travels Ash and olddudders🚢

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
DS stayed another night after a long time setting up humax box etc for new tv. My wiring system is a mess and he spent ages underneath the house trying to sort it.
We ended up just having pizza and watching Gogglebox, I only watch it with him for a laugh.
Dsister arriving this week so will give the spare room a dust.
Nice Valentines wreath Kalu, a novel idea, hope you have a good crossing Ash and thoughts to all with troubles.

Wyllow3 Sun 12-Feb-23 08:10:02

Good Morning all from an overcast S.Yorks.

I’ve a colonoscopy late afternoon so am starving already. Need must its a Quaker Zoom not real life this morning. Son is coming down to take and collect, and it’s a nice chance to catch him on his own. Treats for after in the fridge.

Glad you can see the end of the work, Whitewavemark. It was an awful time when I had a wall down, downstairs.

karmalady any spare gooseberries trebuchet them my way, they are my favourite and in a crumble food of the gods!

Good cooking and family and outings and best for poorlies.

Alygran Sun 12-Feb-23 08:12:27

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s cloudy today but still very mild.
Church this morning then it’s the singles lunch club at the pub at 12.30. There’s going to be 7 of us today. Roast beef for me!
Safe travels Ash.
Have a good day everyone.

cornergran Sun 12-Feb-23 08:13:05

Morning Mick, morning All from a cloudy corner of Somerset.

We both rested yesterday morning, walked along the river to some not too far away shops yesterday afternoon, caught the bus back.

A raft of late night phone messages from our goddaughter and her husband told us our friend had been admitted to hospital after falling. Dementia means our friend could give little information about the ‘how’ of it. Expecting a call this morning with more news. I feel so sorry for them all, our goddaughter was just beginning to relax and enjoy some days out with her husband now anxiety will be overwhelming her again.

Nothing planned for today other than some laundry processing and sorting a roast, Mr C will enjoy it, I’m less keen.

Take care everyone. Hope Sunday is kind to us all.

Susan56 Sun 12-Feb-23 08:13:28

Hope the colonoscopy goes well this afternoon Wyllow. From what I remember the preparation is the worst part.

Enjoy your sons company and the treats afterwards💐

Romola Sun 12-Feb-23 08:17:36

Good morning from Fife, which has what I think of as "nothing weather", fairly mild, overcast, little wind.
It's my DD's 50th birthday today. I must be OLD. I have to say she's been a lovely daughter all her life. But she is a perpetual worrier including about her own DSs who are honestly fine.
Memories of her birth, relatively easy but she had the cord twice round her neck and came out blue. She needed a hard smack on the bottom from the midwife before she started yelling.

Greyduster Sun 12-Feb-23 08:19:54

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a dreary, cool South Yorkshire. Stayed at DD’s on Friday night and we had breakfast out on Saturday morning and then some shopping, which was interesting for me because it was the first time I’ve used the self scan system in a supermarket. It was interesting, but I’m so absent minded that I would probably forget to scan some things and be had up for shoplifting! DD said “we’ll do it again; you’ll soon get used to it.” My reaction “Do we really have to?” I have a physio appointment at the hospital this afternoon to sort out some painful issues with the new hip. Hopefully they will be able to shed some light on it. Other than that, a quiet day.
Travel safe, Ash and happy landings.
Have the best day you can folks.

Gingster Sun 12-Feb-23 08:24:44

Good morning all and it’s so still and quiet here in Essex .

We were flummoxed about our freezer drawers which had become stuck fast,. With the glass shelf jamming them. Dh and I said ‘who do we know who can break things’ . DS1 was duly summoned. 😂.
He wiggled, shook and eventually kicked them . Out they came. A bit cracked but with a bit of tape can still be used. The glass shelf remained intact. Thank heavens for ‘brute force’. 🤣.

Little gd , Dd and I had an afternoon of painting by numbers. Gd (7) said ‘this is so therapeutic, relaxing and satisfying.’
She was dead right!

I forgot to get the meat out of the freezer, so I’m going to make that mushroom and blue cheese pasta that someone mentioned on here. Sounds delish!

Dog walk first, read the papers, a bit of painting and finish my book club book. He meeting is on Friday,

Have a lovely day all. 👋

Gwenisgreat1 Sun 12-Feb-23 08:24:46

Good morning all from dry Harrogate
You are obviously feeling better GrandMattie?
Safe journey Ashcombe.
I’m off to church this morning, this pm have to sort what left in the veggie box to freeze - it’s amazing value, thanks Marydoll for letting us know about it.
This evening trim DHs hair!
Have the best day possible folks

Wyllow3 Sun 12-Feb-23 08:26:02

That's why I'm not going out, Susan grin

brook2704 Sun 12-Feb-23 08:26:33

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it looks bright and dry, hopefully the very cold wind we’ve had the last few days will have dropped a bit
Safe journey Ash hope the journey goes well
Sunday tends to be my admin day and I’ve a few things to sort this morning, other than that I’m hoping to be out in the garden again as there’s always lots to do. I had a lovely video call with DS yesterday, always good to catch up on his news
Hope all goes well today Wyllow
Sorry to hear about your friends fall corner I hope you can reassure your goddaughter and help her anxiety
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Grandmabatty Sun 12-Feb-23 08:30:17

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 6° with low cloud so it looks gloomy. Ash safe journey home. Susan thank you. Romola welcome. Your story reminded me that my DD had the cord round her neck too. Happy birthday to your dad. Wyllow I hope all goes well later. Karmalady gooseberries are wonderful. I make jam with them and look out every year for the season. Last year I bought a gooseberry plant so there might be fruit on it this year. Fingers crossed. Kalu I love your wreath. I'm a big fan of wreaths.
Yesterday I met up with a friend for breakfast. I haven't seen her for a while as she's been unwell so we had a lot of catching up to do. After breakfast, I asked if she wanted to come to my house as she hadn't been for so long. Well, I couldn't get rid of her! I know that sounds bad but she just wouldn't go. Finally early afternoon she headed off then I felt bad for thinking I wanted my own space. I think the pandemic brought out the hermit in me. I shall fight against it.
Today I will have to go back to Aldi as I forgot a butternut squash. I'm making soup for the boys for tomorrow. Dinner tonight will be roast chicken. Have a good day all.

Good morning all from cool and dry South Lanarkshire.

Safe travels Ash.

Enjoy your treats after the colonoscopy Wyllow.

Lovely wreath Kalu.

I’ll meet DH after Mass this morning. It’s our Sunday ‘date’ for brunch then I need to go to our nearest shopping centre to collect an order. I’ve been reading about the M&S Valentine’s Dine in Deal so I may pop in to see if there’s any left.

A relaxing evening beckons before my last week at work covering annual leave. I’m taking a couple of weeks off after that.

My best wishes to everyone for an untroubled day.
