Good morning, Lucca, sorry to hear you are in hospital, but I did laugh at your comments. My DM was raging last time she was in hospital; having finally managed to fall into an exhausted sleep (she too had shouters in her ward), she was shaken awake by a ward assistant at just after 5am to 'check her details were correct'. grin.

I did realise that Lucca it was why I asked about the drinks trolley.

Any amusing observations today you care to share? ‘Scenes from the Sharp End’ as it were. Is there a big difference in staff levels over the weekend? Do any doctors call in? Just curious really.

I hope you are keeping your bedside locker tidy.

Hello, Lucca, I hope today is a better day for you. When does your son arrive?

Maya I’m sorry you’re also having a difficult time. flowers

You are being very brave Lucca. I have noticed some really kind and thoughtful acts as l visited my dh daily.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts. I have had some wonderful support on the Night Owl thread. I have been really struggling as l caught Covid in the hospital and l haven't been able to visit dh.

Just wanted to say my comments were light hearted

My mother used to tell of the time when the husband of a new mum on her 'lying in' ward in the early 1950s had asked, as instructed, her husband to bring in her 'going home' clothes.

There was amusement- and not a little shock - that he hadn't felt able go through her undies drawer, leaving her without bra, knicks, suspender belt and stockings!

The night time wailers might be in physical pain. Maybe some noise cancelling head sets. Are they expensive?

Riverwalk Mon 13-Feb-23 07:43:14

Good morning Lucca . I'm sorry you're in hospital - hope they're sorting you out.

People-watching on wards is fascinating but you don't get much sleep with all the goings on.

Back in the day, it used to be mobile patients who did the milky drinks trolley on the night shift - can you imagine that these days!

Urmstongran Mon 13-Feb-23 06:29:29

Morning Lucca did you sleep well? x
