Hello Lucca. I had noticed you hadn’t been posting for a while, but I am sorry to hear you are in hospital.
I hope you will be released soon.
Hospitals aren’t the most restful places are they?

"Oh, must be on the last ward I was on"
No wonder the hospital can offer a choice of chargers! 🙂

It's the flabby, bendy toast for breakfast too. 🤔

We had one who said same four things from 3 am to 11 am…

Then you have the night time wailers …

No Horlicks UG but lots of tea . I’m the only one on ward who can walk and shower myself quite sad teally

I’m sorry you’re in hospital, Lucca and hope you can escape soon.

Your dh’s efforts seems consistent with how my dh operates. I got whisked into hospital with acute appendicitis, many years ago. I asked Dh to bring me a wash bag, including face flannels. He brought in some dish cloths and rather grey ones at that!

As for the way wards do things - only believe what they say when it happens! . I know hospitals are hard-pushed in many ways nowadays but it’s quite discombobulating for patients when things don’t happen as expected.

Has the bedtime drinks trolley been round Lucca?
“Horlicks, please”.

Do you still get woken up at 6am while it’s still dark?

Also a lot of 'this is what's going to happen today/tomorrow' which OH would mentally prepare himself for. Then a change of shifts when the next lot would come in with different ideas of what was going to happen!

That made me laugh Lucca as my husband has been in hospital for the past two weeks and it's been me trying to find everything he's needed. I managed ok with clothes but it was all the gizmos he suddenly decided he couldn't live without along with the chargers - none of which were where he said they'd be!

Also different working styles among the medical staff.

“ I’ll be back in a minute with the commode” I.e. 15 minutes..by which time too late possibly for the poor woman.

Or the “ I’ll be back in a minute “ and means it.

“ yes we”ll give you a wash soon… maybe this afternoon “

“Yes why dont we give you a wash right now and fit in another two before lunch !

“Where is your hairbrush ?”
“What should I do with those ripe bananas ?
“What tartan slippers ?
