Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry and looks a little milder to what it has been like most mornings early this past few weeks in brackley .
Plans I have an item from John Lewis to pick from local Waitrose which I will do early.
I plan to bus to Bicester , just to see whether with more walking I am improving , but the weather holds the key if its cold.
Take Care,
Mick

Welcome micmc. Leisurely starts are the great bonus of retirement, aren't they!

harrigran Mon 13-Feb-23 09:24:06

Just read back through yesterday's thread and saw Meg's message.
Sending my condolences on the loss of your husband, I know how you will be feeling and with your own health issues it must be difficult for you. I do hope you have support.

Meg My heart goes out to you. I have walked in your shoes recently. Pleased you have family to help take the strain, but all on here will be ready, I’m sure, with a listening ear should you feel the need.

Very late on parade from a gloomy but mild S. Yorks.

Slept an incredible 9 hours after yesterdays procedure and attached anxieties. The bits of me tested are clear, but I need a CT scan, but that seems much easier to contemplate. I nearly didnt get seen - the colonoscopy had been moved 2 hours later, but when I went in they hadn’t been informed! Yet they were so kind and reassuring its 10 stars for the NHS in difficult times again.

I think I’ll have a lazy day, avoid the “you must do this or that” urges.

Condolences to Meg - warm hugs - and a welcome to micmc

Good morning from a brighter today coastal West Sussex.

I am tired this morning even though I had a quiet day yesterday. I must still be recovering from our visit to the Cezanne exhibition at Tate Modern, followed by a visit to The Garden at 120 (Fenchurch Street) with wonderful views. I totted up over 18000 steps 😇. On Saturday I took (just) 4 year old DGD out as she was not invited to older sister’s birthday party 😂. We travelled on buses, went to the library and the beach and had sandwich lunch on a bench. When we got back she had a cake then disappeared upstairs. When we checked she was on her bed, crashed out!

Today I need to do some tidying up and dust removal before going for a walk with a friend and her three little dogs.

Sorry to hear of Marydoll’s continuing problems with medication side effects. Hope some help available from GP.
Urmstongran, sorry to hear of your shock result from the research project but hope that the regular screening will pick up any problem early.

Ash what a hideous end to your journey - a free breakfast seems inadequate compensation.

Hope the milder weather helps with your outings Mick.

Glad all went well yesterday Wyllow and all bits tested are clear.
Condolences to Meg 💐

Good Morning all from dry Harrogate, had a lousy night last night, so undoubtedly will have azzzzz at some point today
.Glad your eyes have improved GrandMattie in time to go to Bristol?
Marydoll my dishwasher offers an economy wash which takes 3.5 hours. It's on just now, but probably some do it overnight because it takes forever.
Welcome micmc47 to our little chat.
That was an awful nuisance Ashcombe just when you don't need it.
Have the best day possible folks!

💐 for Megs . Such devastating news.

Good morning from a rather gloomy looking Glasgow, so far dry and not windy.

All this talk of garden centres has me itching to visit a few but I have made expensive mistakes too often by planting too early so will just have to make do with tidying up and clearing out in the garden at this time of year.

Hats off to you taking part in research Urms. Such a worthwhile selfless thing to do which will benefit many. Sincere good wishes that your future results are such to give you peace of mind.
Sorry to hear you have gone two steps back Marydoll
My sincere condolences Meg 💐

We had a lovely busy time with DD1 and the girls yesterday. GD1 took her wreath home ready to hang above their table for tomorrow as both girls! 13 and 17, have invited a few friends for a valentine lunch and celebrating half term break. 🥳 Just hope they are out of bed in time to prepare it!

Hoping a good day is ahead for all.

Megs I have just seen your message from yesterday and send my condolences flowers

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Quiet day yesterday and spent the night with the new tv, which is complicated after my last one. Could have gone to local folk club, but there’s something about Sunday night which means I never get round to it..
Off soon to have my ‘tweakments’, Botox etc. We singers and performers have to keep up appearances 😁 I have been offered dates for a classical concert in the spring, so will work out a programme for that.
Will post a letter to stonemason today querying why the inscription on the family headstone for my late DH and BIL has made no progress in over a year.
Sending condolences to you Meg such a difficult time🙏🏻

Urmstongran Mon 13-Feb-23 10:40:33

Heartfelt thanks for all your lovely comments and good wishes. They mean a lot - especially as I do have health anxiety. I even found myself musing as I had my coffee earlier ‘ought I to have taken part?’. But I have and it’s done so I must give my head a wobble.
😊

Ash I read your welcome not at Travel Lodge. It could be a Bill Bryson story. I hope you eventually had some sleep.

Marydoll I think you must have tried every known medicine by now. I am sorry that nothing works.

Megs flowers

I have just received a request to take part in research into blood pressure and cholesterol.
For the first time I have declined.
In my life I have taken part in lots of studies, but feel I have done my bit.
At least 3 involved journeys to clinics and hospitals some quite lengthy, some just questionnaires also lengthy.
I have had BC as have many on here and the studies relating to that are the only ones I will now follow up.

dragonfly46 Mon 13-Feb-23 11:19:48

Megs so sorry to hear your news and sending sincere condolences.

Urmston it is a good thing they are keeping a close eye on you and can pick up any problem almost before it happens. 1 in 8 women have breast cancer and it is curable these days especially if picked up early. Yes mammograms make me anxious but I always think that if they see it on a mammogram but I cannot feel it then it is very small!!

Pleased to hear nothing untoward was seen Wyllow. Hopefully a CT scan will show the same and that is over in minutes.

Grandmachrisy47 Mon 13-Feb-23 11:25:22

Sincere condolences to Megs.
Hugs to those in need.

hulahoop Mon 13-Feb-23 11:28:57

Sending (((hugs))) to megs sorry to hear of your loss.

Urmstongran Mon 13-Feb-23 11:43:48

Good thinking & very reassuring dragonfly. Definitely best way to look at it. Thank you.

Marydoll Mon 13-Feb-23 13:49:46

Megs, I'm so sorry to hear your sad news, 💐

MawtheMerrier Mon 13-Feb-23 14:09:13

Power not cheaper at night as far as I know, MD. If it’s done first thing, I have more drying time…. Simples
Ah, it is for me. The off peak tariff is about half the daytime one.
But if I use my appliances when it is sunny, the solar panels bring the cost right down.
So the debate is, do I do the washing/washing up overnight or can I count on sun tomorrow!

merlotgran Mon 13-Feb-23 14:23:55

My condolences, Meg
