Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and also wet here in brackley this morning.
I would go out but have decided to stay home today as I want to pay and book my trip to Harrogate next week .
Plus do some general household chores .
Take Care,
Mick

Good Morning Monday 27th February 2023
(50 Posts)Good morning from a dark E Kent. Yesterday started off dismal and ended beautifully sunny.
After church, I had an unexpected visit. I had sorted out all the fairytale books, mostly Ladybird, for her 3y.o. granddaughter. They were too heavy for me to carry in one go; she chose to fetch them in her car, and stop for a coffee.
I did more ruthless pruning of “stuff”, this time bedding. Who needs 9 pairs of flat sheets for a double bed I’ll never use again?
More of the same today. I’ll carry on assembling a quilt, mad3 from leftover squares. Essential phone calls - hate doing those. Quiet day, no doubt.
May today bring a little joy in your lives. Xxx Carpe diem/horam 🦩🦩🦩🦩
Good morning from a chilly Crewe.
Travelling home today with changes at Birmingham New St and Exeter St.David's. At least I can be happy that the trains are running!
Thank you for your kind, good wishes for DGD who came home from both tap and ballet exams feeling that she’d done her best. Last night we had tears at bedtime about returning to school. DD2 thinks it’s because she’s had a lot of dance events with competitions during the first weekend of half term. Dancing is her passion!
A lucky connection regarding the books going to a good home, grandMattie.
Thoughts with Grammaretto and Georgesgran. 💐
I hope today brings happiness to those who struggle. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩
Good morning from a dry, starlit south Cornwall where the Plough and Little Bear are hanging brightly over my patio. Today, coffee with an artist friend, a quick trip to Wilko's lockers to collect an Amazon parcel, then to the Post Office to send my daughter's 44th birthday parcel and after that a bus to the Uni library. Fun last night at my youngest son's place, watching old episodes of Dragon's Den.
Good morning from high on a hill in Wiltshire, there’s frost on the car again.
Dd and her DDog arrived safely yesterday, in the evening we wandered across a nearby field while the dogs went crazy chasing each other around. That effectively wiped me out which is ridiculous. I slept badly so just as well not a lot planned for today except for GP appointment this morning.
DD and DH go back to her house tomorrow.
I hope the week goes well for you all x
Good morning from down South. Cold and dry here.
Not sure what I will do today.
Car does have to go in for its MOT soon, so does need emptying out.. Think it will be a case of, what size bill and is it worth fixing.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently -1° and very frosty. Clear skies too. Ash safe journey home. Grandmattie I really got into decluttering my last house. Mizuna enjoy your coffee meet-up.
Yesterday was busy. Brunch with a friend and then lots of kitchen time. Another friend contacted me about our mutual friend who is very ill. She was quite concerned. I don't think she's seen her as often as I have, so is understandably shocked by her deterioration.
Today is childcare day. Dropping off dgs1 at nursery then playing with dgs2. Have a good day all.
Good morning, s somerset is cold but dry
Yesterday was beautiful, I started to clean a bed of rocks and stones for carrots, using a gorilla bar. The house is built on an old quarry and has 12 feet footings to solid rock. There are masses of stones and rocks, which have been compressed down by heavy machinery going over them. Very hard work and I only did 1 x 3 feet. I took 4 buckets of rocks out. Another 2 x 3 feet to clear over time
I do like physical work, especially if the sun is out, although I need two days off now, to recover
An easy day, some tidying needs to be done. I tend to get messy when engrossed, as I was yesterday
Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset is cold, frosty too.
Yesterdays bright sunshine failed to tempt us out, a day of putting rooms back to rights and relaxing. Cake was distributed amongst neighbours, we’d never have eaten it all. Enough left for a small army.
Mr C has a hospital appointment late afternoon. We hope to better understand the outcome of recent day ward procedures. Less stress this time as we can use the buses and have a lunch on the way.
It’s amazing what we collect isn’t it grandmattie? I’m pleased your books were collected, easier for you. Wishing you a trouble free journey home ash. Hope the GP appointment goes well bluebalou. Thinking of everyone with sadness in their lives.
Hope Monday is kind to us all.
Good morning from the South Downs. Feels cold out there today. Heating doesn’t come on until 7am. Forecast brightish today, so will get the bedding washed and out in the sun.
Nothing planned - so housework will be done for the week which will then be free to do what we want.
Cajun salmon bake with tropical salsa for dinner. Day 4 of our diet. Although the tropical salsa is pushing it a bit so I’ll try to think of a suitable (less sugar) alternative,
Good morning all from a chilly Glasgow, its -3°C here.
I'm very tired this morning, after a lovely afternoon at DIL's baby shower, with everyone telling me how well I looked! Its amazing what a bit of war paint can do!
Exhausted, I was in bed before 9pm, virtually unheard of.
Dollie won the Baby Bingo (I think it was fixed 😉) and DD the music quiz, unfortunately I didn't do so well.
If I hadn't cheated, I would have got 0/20. 😂
DIL's mum and sisters had put on a lovely spread, afternoon tea, complete with china tea service. They are very talented bakers.
DH is golfing and then we are off down to Ayrshire for a funeral. On the way back, we will have to come off the motorway at Sainsbury's, I had a text yesterday, saying my Click and Collect will go back to the warehouse tomorrow, if I don't pick it up. We also need to pick up a new hand held vacuum cleaner from Argos, our present one gave up the ghost yesterday.
Costing only £15.99, from the middle of Lidl, it has done sterling service.
This being unable to drive is such a pain! Relying on others for lifts, doesn't sit well with me. I have lost my independence.
Mizuna, I tried to send you a photo of the pear tree, but it won't upload. Who would gave believed that twig would have grown into a 5ft healthy tree.
I wish you all the best of days. Gingster, I hope your DD is improving or manages to speak to someone today.
Good morning all from a chilly North Leicestershire where it appears to be raining.
Ironing this morning and a phone call that could have enormous consequences - if everyone does their job.
This afternoon we are looking at more kitchen showrooms. I would be happy to go with the first design but dh always likes to check there is nothing better out there.
Morning all
It’s frosty with a clear sky here in S E Essex.
I am off to Waitrose for a click & collect this morning which includes eldest son’s ‘0’ birthday cake for the celebrations tomorrow. Then straight to the gym, should have time for a coffee and catch up afterwards.
We are out with friends this evening, for a dinner meeting and talk by a local(ish) author. He was blinded by fireworks when a teenager, he has lived a full life despite being blind and is a fabulous after dinner speaker.
Have a good day folks 🙋♀️🦩
Good morning - gosh hadn’t noticed it was raining kitty!
Pilates first thing then an easy day.
Had a lovely weekend with DS it was good to see his is much happier with his new job.
Hoping the results from the blood tests on Friday are okay. It took two of them to extract a tiny amount. One of them was the doctor, apparently they can take blood from more places than nurses.
Wishing everyone a good day.
Good morning from Leamington.
A lovely meal out with DD1 and family yesterday afternoon then we played Pictionary when we got home. A fun afternoon.
The girls are all at school today and DD1 and I will spend some time together.
Starting tomorrow night DGD1 is appearing in a WAGS dancing show, scouts and guides. 6 shows this week, finishing on Saturday evening.
Like your DGD Ash dancing is her passion.
Have an enjoyable Monday everyone and let's hope the sun shines xx
Good morning all from a wet Black country.
Yesterday turned out lovely and sunny and DH mowed the front lawn, I did some weeding next door are not gardeners and their weeds tend to spread.
No plans as yet for today perhaps carry on with my decluttering.
Safe travels home Ash and anybody else on the move.
Enjoy your Monday everyone and may you all find some ☀️.
Good morning from frosty Colchester.
We have a funeral to go to this afternoon in South Essex. My black coat seems to have shrunk in the wardrobe so I'll have to nip to the shops and hope I can find something suitable and warm. My usual coats are red and bright green. TK Maxx is calling Marydoll
Love to all 🦩 x
Good morning everyone from a grey and damp Northampton, a bit gloomy after yesterday's glorious sunshine.
A day of memories, as 5 years ago today I lost my beloved DH.
We had a lovely whole family (and dogs) walk yesterday, which I specially enjoyed, as I had not done this particular one for over 5 years, since before my DH died. It involved several stiles, which I managed with a little assistance! Saw lots of snowdrops.
Was exhausted when I got home so spent the rest of the day relaxing with the papers and watching rugby.
Yoga this morning, then shall walk across to Knit and Natter at a local pub. Must try and hang some washing out before I go. Then another quiet afternoon reflecting on 5 years ago today.
May today be kind to us all.
Good morning from Sefton. It is dry & frost free here with light pink tinged cloud & a hint of sunshine. It could the start of a pleasant day🤞.
We had a lovely weekend away. The formal dinner & (short) speeches went well, no disco any more so plenty of time for chatting to old friends & getting to know new ones. Coffee & a catch up yesterday morning with friends I hadn't seen for 2 years. We had a lot to catch up on. It's amazing how long you can make a cup of coffee last! An easy journey home with a detour into a vast M & S where I got exactly what I wanted which doesn't seem to happen very often. It takes a brave woman to wear some of the current M&S fashion offerings!
Singing this morning, a quick lunch then off to 'sit' with delightful 3 yr old GD whilst mum & dad get on with Zoom meetings in peace & quiet.
Hope this is the start of a kind & easy week for all.

Good morning everyone from a very frosty and cold Inverness with a lovely sunny day forecast. Yesterday we had sun all day long and I enjoyed spending time in the garden. There was quite a good show of the northern lights last night, we went outside about 10pm and walked to the end of the road and saw quite a few green lights but not the multicoloured ones, will probably try again tonight.
Safe travels home today Ash
Today I’m going to the gym for a couple of classes and then there’s a lunch organised for one of the lovely staff members who’s leaving. Everyone is bringing something to eat, I’m making the sandwiches as I’m not really a baker but they’ll be lots of yummy cakes and bakes to share!
Hoping the test results are all ok dragonfly and your DH corner and anyone else awaiting test results
Good luck to your dancing DGD Sar!
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
No Matt = Monday.
Good morning everyone from south Manchester. It’s dry with light cloud and Alexa tells me it’s only 3°C at present. Brr! I’m off to the surgery in a couple of hours for my monthly weigh in with the nurse. I think I’ve lost another couple of pounds in the four weeks.
The photo was taken from my verandah yesterday tea time. Trafford council have been planting up all the boxes and large tubs in this town centre and it’s looking very spring-like. Oh the train to Manchester Oxford Road is just leaving Platform 1. I will be on one tomorrow as I’m off to the cinema with my friend to see ‘Joyland’.
Good morning all from wet Harrogate.
You certainly are making strides with your house clearance GrandMattie. Lovely to hear your DGD has a passion for dancing Ashcombe and Sar too.
Today will be a day of telephone calls 1st to my school’s friend, then my sisters, somewhere in there, there will be an admin call.
Have the best day possible folks
'Mizuna, I tried to send you a photo of the pear tree, but it won't upload. Who would gave believed that twig would have grown into a 5ft healthy tree.'
Thanks for trying Marydoll! The trees didn't look that big in the pictures when we bought them and they're in danger of taking over my small patio now! They'd better fruit well this year or they're off to my allotment.
