So once you've been a GN member for a whilte, been around the block a few times, you'll have witnessed some feeding frenzies on controversial topics.

Some of those I remember from yester year are:

* Baby milk shortage (being bought up and sold overseas)

* Boris Johnson (at one point praised for his intelligence, yes, really!)

* Jeremy Corbyn (a real Marmite character)

*Anything to do with trans issues.

What are some of the topics that have caused metaphorical fisticuffs that you remember?

We had a Geography teacher who we used to call H-rp-c
As in clean round the bend ...

Why do geography teachers always get nicknames? 🌏

It's a way of - flooding washing the bathroom floor at the same time.

So instead of a loo brush, you need a showerhead, a bathing suit, a mop and bucket? Sounds like too much hassle to me.

I have another question. Is it a squeezy mop or traditional one?

Doesnt encourage waste to the bowl is the best descriptor I have heard in a long time. smile

I do know someone who said she wears a swimsuit to scrub out the shower 😀

Hetty58 Fri 03-Mar-23 10:20:05

Why bother with the swimsuit?

Callistemon21 Fri 03-Mar-23 10:22:51

I don't know! I put on a wetsuit and goggles, with a SCUBA myself.

FannyCornforth Fri 03-Mar-23 10:58:54

This thread is an absolute belter.

For all of you coveting my shower head situation; it is one of the very rare benefits of having a tiny house / tiny bathroom.

The shower head is one of the types that is attached to the bath taps ( I don’t have a shower - that is another of my numerous housing based problems 🤷‍♀️ )

I might post a diagram - there’s no way I’m posting a photo! grin

Gagajo often starts really good threads.
I never start a thread, so lazy.

You can easily start to wish that you really hadn’t bothered.
I had that feeling earlier this morning wink

It's happened to me, FannyCornforth, especially when I first started years ago.

I use the shower head on very hot every day to clean my toilet ☺️

It never gets very grubby anyway. I’ve never thought ‘oh I wish I had a loo brush to tackle this’.
I just give in an extra flush or two and it’s good to go.
And I put loo cleaner round the bowl twice a week or so.

How long is the shower hose?
My toilet is in a different room...

Galaxy Fri 03-Mar-23 11:34:48

You are welcome gagajo.
This is going to end with photos of FC 's toilet isn't it?

I only have a loo brush because my daughter ordered one online and two were delivered. I don't use it but it is very smart looking! I use the paper disposable ones that are flushed down the loo after use.

Don't these come on a reusable stick?
How us that kept clean?
I don't understand thus product at all!!

You can buy new brushes that screw on to existing sticks.

I bought half a dozen once in M&S in a sale but they didn't fit my loo brush stick.

The clique expands😉

Callistemon21 Fri 03-Mar-23 11:58:02

I'm off to do something useful eg measure the distance between the shower and the loo
😀

bubbly1960 Fri 03-Mar-23 14:01:04

If I use my toilet brush, I pop some Domestos in the pan and leave the brush to soak. Lid and seat up of course, don't want anyone coming along and sitting down.
No one wants the handle of the brush up their.....

Tizliz Fri 03-Mar-23 14:03:42

There are some threads that you really shouldn’t read whilst eating lunch

GagaJo Fri 03-Mar-23 14:07:15

No chance of that ixiom. I'm too rude and sweary. Uncouth even.

FannyCornforth Fri 03-Mar-23 14:09:59

That’s an absolute prerequisite in our clique GagaJo 😊

DanniRae Fri 03-Mar-23 14:17:58

Two things:

How do you feel about toilet mats? I always use one ..... someone in this house isn't a very good aim! (and it's not me.)
You can buy something on Amazon to unblock toilets. It really works too!

Mollygo Fri 03-Mar-23 14:23:36

We have a toilet mat -actually more than one for the reason you mention. The problem is, what do others who have them put with it in the washing machine? Towels? Dog’s blankets?
