So once you've been a GN member for a whilte, been around the block a few times, you'll have witnessed some feeding frenzies on controversial topics.

Some of those I remember from yester year are:

* Baby milk shortage (being bought up and sold overseas)

* Boris Johnson (at one point praised for his intelligence, yes, really!)

* Jeremy Corbyn (a real Marmite character)

*Anything to do with trans issues.

What are some of the topics that have caused metaphorical fisticuffs that you remember?

Galaxy

You have kept your powder dry a long time FC. Only now to reveal yourself as a poo troll.

It’s all about the long game.

I love that I have contributed to this thread without even posting on it grin

My Mother was against them too and I think my Grandmother was also! Just looking at them makes me feel unwell blush

loo brushes that is, if it wasn't clear! smile

Galaxy Thu 02-Mar-23 18:21:27

sad weeping.

sodapop Thu 02-Mar-23 19:37:24

thanks I feel your pain Galaxy

Loo brushes should not get in the way of friendships….

Marydoll Thu 02-Mar-23 20:19:04

May I ask, what to others use instead of a loo brush, to clean any detrius? blush
Just asking for a friend! wink

Mollygo Thu 02-Mar-23 20:24:09

I wanted to know too. We’ve heard about disposable toilet brushes and toothbrushes, but what else?

JaneJudge Thu 02-Mar-23 20:28:12

bleach and cleaning fluids and a good aim?
and maybe a good diet grin

Galaxy Thu 02-Mar-23 21:12:23

When people show you who they are Janejudge ...., wink

Constipation could help.

No prunes. Or Figgy biscuits.

As I said upthread, I clean mine with the shower head (on very hot) every day. It gleams!

I never thought of that Fanny, but of no use to me, my shower heads won't reach.
Oh well back to the drawing board.
Occasionally, I get the steamer out, but that's such a faff, wheen your hands are arthritic.

FannyCornforth Fri 03-Mar-23 07:26:24

‘Morning Mary, yes it’s strangely therapeutic, showering the loo.
I do the basin and taps too.
I really should get our more…

Marydoll Fri 03-Mar-23 07:28:25

Morning Fanny!.

I may get the steamer out, that too is therapeutic. wink

Galaxy Fri 03-Mar-23 07:48:03

Hoy no fraternising with those outside the clique.
Morning grin

FannyCornforth Fri 03-Mar-23 08:01:07

‘Morning Galaxy smile
Sorry. Yes, where would it all end.
Absolute anarchy.
Before you know it an unsuspecting poster could find themselves sharing a joke with a reader of the Daily Mail, or swapping beauty tips with a Remoaner.
The opportunities for dissension are endless shock

Mollygo Fri 03-Mar-23 08:22:25

I wish my showerhead would reach across to the loo FC. I have to rely on jugs of very hot water to rinse off my toilet brush (silicon, no nasty bristles) in the loo.
But that will arouse another GN obsession. You use the shower more than once a day possibly for longer than 4 minutes!😱

Iam64 Fri 03-Mar-23 08:40:05

Mollygo, I’m rarely envious and mostly content, even happy with my lot, including the bathroom. But - I wish the shower head reached the toilet. The new (ish) toilet doesn’t encourage waste to the bowl. Enough said

Marydoll Fri 03-Mar-23 08:49:56

I have just had a go using the showerhead. It definitely doesn't reach. I have another question. Do you not get a soaking Fanny, when you reach across to switch off the shower?

Callistemon21 Fri 03-Mar-23 08:58:09

We had a new shower fitted yesterday - haven't had the bill yet but it still won't reach the loo.

The plumber got a wet sleeve when I asked him to demonstrate it.

For this pursuit she wears a bathing suit

ixion Fri 03-Mar-23 09:54:30

We had a Geography teacher who we used to call H-rp-c
As in clean round the bend ...

Callistemon21 Fri 03-Mar-23 09:55:22

It's a way of - flooding washing the bathroom floor at the same time.
