So once you've been a GN member for a whilte, been around the block a few times, you'll have witnessed some feeding frenzies on controversial topics.

Some of those I remember from yester year are:

* Baby milk shortage (being bought up and sold overseas)

* Boris Johnson (at one point praised for his intelligence, yes, really!)

* Jeremy Corbyn (a real Marmite character)

*Anything to do with trans issues.

What are some of the topics that have caused metaphorical fisticuffs that you remember?

Scones.

Could start a major incident on GN.

Oh god, yes!

DH said he heard something the other day on TV - a woman claimed it was jam first in Cornwall because Cornish clotted cream is thinner and more runny than Devon clotted cream and would slide off! 😲

Having thoroughly tested both, I would dispute that.

Never met a scone I didn't like, although fruitless sweet scone is a bit of a disappointment. Rectified with loads of butter, or jam and cream.

I think that it depends on what you are ‘on’
I’m always on my iPhone (Safari) and I have never had the 🐄 page.
I have had it however on the rare times I’ve used my lap top (Google)

That's strange NotSpaghetti, works for me.
Try this?

I'm getting that the page had "moooved"...

We were left in charge of three of the grandsons on our family holiday last year. When we went to check on them they were playing gladiators and brandishing a toilet brush each above their heads. They’d never seen one before.

We didn’t think their parents needed to know. grin

It's not really against the grain, its more against logic and common sense (the paper I mean) lol

nanna8 Mon 06-Mar-23 22:00:09

All these nasty comments about the Daily Mail makes me want to read it. We don’t have it here but it seems to be very controversial. I like to go against the grain, though and might like it. I have read the Ghastly Guardian and don’t think much of it thoughI have a distant memory of the Manchester Guardian being a fantastic paper in days of yore.

I remember reading a notice in a friend’s loo….my aim is to keep the loo clean, your aim helps…she had 4 sons plus husband.

How often do you change your bra was another.

I have pedestal mats in the loos. Not to catch drips as there are no men here but to keep my bare feet off the cold tiles.
So presumably you just put them in with the general washing, or with towels?

There was a thread about the non- availability of loo seat covers not that long ago.

Does anyone admit to wearing leggings, having a tattoo and likes sausages? grin

Two here. Clue - no body art here.

I am also fat, but I wear my leggings under dresses.

Callistemon21 - re the photo... you are supposed to be using the shower hose to clean the toilet - not sucking on it!

Behave!

😂😂😂

I look quite slim and agile, though, don't I!!

Fly tipping and the dreadful rubbish on the side of the road and motorways.

Things your mother said to you!

MaggsMcG Sat 04-Mar-23 16:07:49

To vaccinate or not.
To have boosters or not

To wear masks or not (which seems to be not now)

Whether The Labour Party can do a better job or just a different bad one.
