Morning Mick and all from a dull S Hants, no frost. Real progress gMattie, woman on a mission!
Sounds great Shazza enjoy your meal.
No real plans today, MrJ is out to finish up some leftover work, he’s pleased, down to once a week to see the nurse, not 3x.
Enjoy your day if you can 🦩🦩
I’m thinking of Megs this morning 💐

brook2704 Sat 04-Mar-23 07:59:15

Sounds like a tough day ahead georgesgran but hope meeting up with your DDs help Hope your cough eases a bit soon, take care 💐

Grandmachrisy47 Sat 04-Mar-23 07:59:40

Shazza, allow plenty of time for The War Rooms. DD1 and I went some years ago and we’re still engrossed as they closed for the day. We both love history.
Marydoll, your post made me chuckle.
Georgesgran, a poignant day for you. Hope you feel better soo n.
Hairdresser appointment this morning, as we are out for my birthday lunch tomorrow in a local Italian restaurant.
Thoughts are with those with worries.

Marydoll Sat 04-Mar-23 08:00:08

Georgesgran, not an easy day for you. Be kind to yourself. 💐

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently -1° with lovely blue skies. A tad frosty. georgesgran 💐. A hard day for you. Marydoll I had a laugh at you talking through the doorbell to the street! I hope Wee Dolly recovers soon. Mizuna happy birthday to your son. Have a lovely time together.
Yesterday I pottered about the house. I made chicken stock and a curry. Dd sent me a photo of dgs1 when she picked him up from nursery. His face is covered in coloured pen. Apparently he wanted to be a pirate. The nursery staff were in stitches.
Today I have a pirate coming to stay overnight. Dd and sil are going out to a fabulous steak restaurant called Champeneys. It's a treat for DD from her husband who is partial to steaks too. I am looking forward to entertaining a wee pirate. I'll have all his toys out ready for him. He wants noodles for dinner. I'll have chicken curry again. Have a good day all.

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset looks grey and gloomy.

Enjoyed our meal with our teenagers and their Dad. The food isn’t really what I’d choose (everyone else loves it, I’m just awkward), the company on the other hand exactly right. Good to have chatting time, our nearly 17 year old is so positive and excited about her future it helped overcome worry about our son who is under enormous pressure.

A need to buy some food at some point today, also collect a parcel otherwise nothing planned. I may venture into the loft and pass (throw!) down some bedding and curtains to sort and hopefully pass on.

Our local Salvation Army always welcomes bedding for their housing projects grandmattie. You may find there is something similar locally. Go gently georgesgran flowers. A hug on its way urms, would planning something enjoyable for you both each day, no matter how small, help?

Take care everyone. Hope Saturday is gentle with us all.

Greyduster Sat 04-Mar-23 08:18:01

Welcome Sangela! Jump right in!

Good morning from a grey, dull and damp Essex by the sea.
Thinking of you Georgesgran.
Not much on the cards here today. Some shopping first thing, a new jigsaw later and probably a film tonight.
Have a super Saturday everyone xxx

Morning from S Lanarkshire, cold but still. A quiet day ahead for me which is very welcome. I have a smoked ham haugh soaking since last night so hoping for a good pot of soup later with ham and cabbage for dinner.

On my return from Edinburgh yesterday afternoon I joined a friend for a service for the women’s world day of prayer, written this year by the women of Taiwan. It was instructive and peaceful and a lovely way to complete my visit.

Thoughts then and now for all with health anxieties and waiting for test results.

Shazza, your London trip sounds marvellous, I love the words ‘Pudding Lane’! It’s ages since I did a London visit, it used to be a regular thing, first with my DH and then with my friend and her husband. She has actually floated the idea again recently and your description is tempting me!

Grandmabatty, I meant to admire your paintings, how satisfying it must be to be able to create something like that, I truly envy the talent that you and others on this thread display.

Here’s hoping I achieve my plans for today and that everyone else does too, good wishes to all🦩

baubles Sat 04-Mar-23 08:24:32

Good morning all from chilly South Lanarkshire.

A difficult day for you Georgesgran flowers.

Yesterday we had a mooch around the West End (Glasgow, not London) and had a coffee in a very pretty patisserie. We sat next to two women who spent the entire time taking selfies and photos of each other in various poses, they even had a small hand held light in order to get professional looking photos, probably for their instagram accounts. I couldn’t believe how completely self absorbed they were and that they were oblivious to the fact that they were getting in the way of other people as they shifted positions in order to get different backgrounds. Completely spoiled our visit.

We’re popping over to DD’s this morning as we haven’t seen them for a couple of weeks.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Grandmabatty Sat 04-Mar-23 08:33:10

Thank you Still learning. That's very kind of you and the others who commented so favourably yesterday. Sangela welcome to Mick's lovely thread.

ginny Sat 04-Mar-23 08:39:09

Good morning.
We are off to Milton Keynes museum with DD3 and family. Lots of interactive things for 7 year old DGS and little one will be happy to tag along.
Kind thoughts for all who need them in any way. Hope Saturday is a good day.

Newquay Sat 04-Mar-23 08:39:25

Morning all, welcome Sangela from a “lurker”!
This is a lovely thread, full of life in all its shades-laugh and cry together! Enjoy!

Stilllearning Sat 04-Mar-23 08:56:29

Georgesgran, a hard day and very sorry to hear about your friend 💐

Georgesgran sending (((hugs))) on a difficulty day

Hello Sangela 👋👋

BlueBalou Sat 04-Mar-23 09:02:41

Good morning from cold, grey Wiltshire, I suspect that hoping for sunshine today is pointless!
Just back from an hour’s dog walk, really cold wind so my eyes were streaming. DDog enjoyed it, especially having a chase around with one of her hairy friends.
I need to do a few bits in the garden this morning then catch up with housework 🙄
Hope you all have a good weekend x

Gingster Sat 04-Mar-23 09:06:09

Good morning all and welcome sangela . What a lovely description of this morning thread, Newquay. 🥰. So true!

The sun has just come out Sar so perhaps a better day than anticipated.🌝. 🤞.

Dd and little gd coming for lunch after her dancing lesson. We’ll have an afternoon of ‘doings’ . Such a lovely little girl! 👧.
Dh will go to a footie match with ds1.

Tomorrow we intend on going to our cottage by the sea, for a few days. Weather will be 🥶 but … never mind! The cosy house will soon warm up. Neighbour will pop our heating on for us , bless her.

GG - have a lovely time at the Dame du Pic. How swish! 😉.

Georgesgran look after yourself. Take it easy at this difficult time. 💐.

Urms keep busy this weekend and enjoy the children. 🙏.

Marydoll 😂. Wish wee Dolly better. . 🥰.

Take care all and enjoy the day if you can.🌷

Wyllow3 Sat 04-Mar-23 09:07:38

Georgesgran.

Chilly and grey yet again in S Yorks. My, we need some sun.

Woke convinced it was Sunday, but it isn't, so just pop to the gym today and rest otherwise. Got a good series of books going, the Louise Penny detective series.

Great time that there London, Shazza.

Gmattie unfortunately charities won't take duvets, 'elf and safety, tho dog rescue homes will take small duvets only. Have searched high and low to try.

luluaugust Sat 04-Mar-23 09:08:24

Good morning from a cloudy W Kent. It was lovely to see two of the GC yesterday afternoon, even if the mock Physics was a disaster! I have got a few bags for the charity shop so will try and deal with them this morning, otherwise a quiet Saturday.
Georgesgran [flowers}
Marydoll oh dear grin
I hope someone will take the duvets away gM
Best wishes to all

Good morning everyone from a grey Northampton, set to remain cloudy all day. After listening to gardening advice on local radio this morning I shall try and get out into the garden to prune the roses. By the time I return from holiday they will have shot up.

Had a good little shopping trip yesterday, collected my holiday money, and somehow ended up with a new t-shirt from Next...... Need to go back to M&S Food with my receipt, as when using the self check-out I somehow managed to charge myself twice for one item. Didn't notice until I checked the receipt at home.

Time to shower and dress, then a bit of pottering and tidying up while listening to the treasure hunt our local radio does every Saturday. The presenters give out cryptic clues and we have to work out whereabouts in the county the hunters should go to find the treasure. Then out in the garden after lunch.

Happy weekend everyone.

Good morning all from blue skies, a good bit of cloud, sunshine and a cool breeze an Angus coast where it isn't raining or snowing 😉. There's a yellow warning for snow and ice for Sunday/Monday though.
Like others on here, I haven't slept much - but then the full moon always does that to me, I don't know why. Anyway I managed to catch up with all your doings of yesterday at 3am. Lovely paintings Grandmabatty. And as I skimmed down just now I saw your photo of "jazz on the Thames", Shazza. That must have been such fun. Your photos of Torbay yesterday were lovely Ash - so warm-looking compared to here!
Gingster I'm so glad your DD's meeting with her consultant was encouraging flowers. Urms I'm glad my photo of yesterday gave you that giggle. Those photo memories that come up on my phone are one of the best things about it.
Today will be uneventful here. My lovely gardener will be putting in an appearance soon, but other than that the day is mine to puddle away with - I am a world-ranking procrastinator (very much in awe of you grandmattie, and you Marydoll).
Have a good day everyone and enjoy all your family get-togethers and journeys. Stay safe and warm x
