Good Morning Everyone,
Dark but dry and cold here in brackley this morning.
Todays plans are to stay in and watch cycling on TV with a event featuring both men and women's versions in Italy.
Later i will have my usual Chinese Take Away ,before a quiet evening.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning (just) from a cold and dull Black Country.

Fantastic production of The Kind & I last night. Helen George has a lovely singing voice.

Left hotel at 10am and we were home by 11.15! Tram, train and bus all came within a couple of minutes at each station .

This afternoon meeting up with some of the family for a late lunch as Niece is home from London as due to train strikes will not make it for Mothers Day weekend.

Welcome sangela hope you enjoy our good morning thread

georgesgran flowers a sad weekend for you

Thinking of you Urms waiting is always unsettling.

Taichinan Sat 04-Mar-23 11:57:39

And finally ....... Warm welcome to Sangela. My DD and two if my DGDs live in South Perthshire. My favourite county particularly around Pitlochry and Dunkeld. Enjoy your time on this thread x

Taichinan Sat 04-Mar-23 11:36:41

Georgesgran I'm so sorry - a very difficult time for you in every respect. I'm sure the company of your DDs will help you through. Feel better soon flowers

Taichinan Sat 04-Mar-23 11:28:49

Oooh! House of Bruar, Marydoll. Used to love going there at one time.

A belated good morning. Just back from our dog walk of about 45 mins which takes us through a small wood. New evidence of lots of badger activity including a new sett. There are now 3 inhabited ones.

Can’t decide whether or not to put the load of washing outside. So far we’ve had sun, cloud and a little fine rain….seems more like April showers although considerably chillier.

Since starting this post( I type with 1 finger so am slow, the sun is out and so will be our washing shortly.

Hope there is some sunshine in all of your days.

I got dressed for almost an hour`s bus trip to wells but decided not to go. No pleasure in the journey today, cold, dull and miserable weather out. Potting inside is nicer today

Good morning everyone. I don’t know what the weather is like as I haven’t looked out yet. It was a long, productive but tiring day at the hospital eye centre yesterday. We arrived home mid afternoon and had a belated brunch of buttered toast and jam. It was all the things I shouldn’t eat and absolutely delicious. Good to hear you had a little freedom Marydoll, so funny too!
Not much planned for today. Have a good day all 🦩🦩🦩

Marydoll Sat 04-Mar-23 09:25:26

Sangela, welcome to this gentle thread.

I hope to be up your way in a couple of weeks. DD has booked a treat for me for a couple of days in Pitlochry.
House of Bruar awaits me!

Kalu Sat 04-Mar-23 09:22:06

Good morning all from a blue skied, sunny but chilly Glasgow

Bed linen, including a duvet already hanging out in the sunshine. F1 today but I may let DH Watch on his own and potter about in the sunshine.

I would find that very annoying too Baubles Selfish pair.
I feel for your Urms. Time stands still until you can breath again. I sincerely hope all goes well. 💐
A warm welcome to you Sangela I know your area very well, one of my favourite places in the country.
Georgesgran. A very difficult day for you. I am glad to hear you will have family around you to help you through it. 💐

Best wishes to all for a good day and a better day for all with worries and troublesome times

Good morning all from blue skies, a good bit of cloud, sunshine and a cool breeze an Angus coast where it isn't raining or snowing 😉. There's a yellow warning for snow and ice for Sunday/Monday though.
Like others on here, I haven't slept much - but then the full moon always does that to me, I don't know why. Anyway I managed to catch up with all your doings of yesterday at 3am. Lovely paintings Grandmabatty. And as I skimmed down just now I saw your photo of "jazz on the Thames", Shazza. That must have been such fun. Your photos of Torbay yesterday were lovely Ash - so warm-looking compared to here!
Gingster I'm so glad your DD's meeting with her consultant was encouraging flowers. Urms I'm glad my photo of yesterday gave you that giggle. Those photo memories that come up on my phone are one of the best things about it.
Today will be uneventful here. My lovely gardener will be putting in an appearance soon, but other than that the day is mine to puddle away with - I am a world-ranking procrastinator (very much in awe of you grandmattie, and you Marydoll).
Have a good day everyone and enjoy all your family get-togethers and journeys. Stay safe and warm x

Good morning everyone from a grey Northampton, set to remain cloudy all day. After listening to gardening advice on local radio this morning I shall try and get out into the garden to prune the roses. By the time I return from holiday they will have shot up.

Had a good little shopping trip yesterday, collected my holiday money, and somehow ended up with a new t-shirt from Next...... Need to go back to M&S Food with my receipt, as when using the self check-out I somehow managed to charge myself twice for one item. Didn't notice until I checked the receipt at home.

Time to shower and dress, then a bit of pottering and tidying up while listening to the treasure hunt our local radio does every Saturday. The presenters give out cryptic clues and we have to work out whereabouts in the county the hunters should go to find the treasure. Then out in the garden after lunch.

Happy weekend everyone.

Good morning from a cloudy W Kent. It was lovely to see two of the GC yesterday afternoon, even if the mock Physics was a disaster! I have got a few bags for the charity shop so will try and deal with them this morning, otherwise a quiet Saturday.
Georgesgran [flowers}
Marydoll oh dear grin
I hope someone will take the duvets away gM
Best wishes to all

Wyllow3 Sat 04-Mar-23 09:07:38

Georgesgran.

Chilly and grey yet again in S Yorks. My, we need some sun.

Woke convinced it was Sunday, but it isn't, so just pop to the gym today and rest otherwise. Got a good series of books going, the Louise Penny detective series.

Great time that there London, Shazza.

Gmattie unfortunately charities won't take duvets, 'elf and safety, tho dog rescue homes will take small duvets only. Have searched high and low to try.

Gingster Sat 04-Mar-23 09:06:09

Good morning all and welcome sangela . What a lovely description of this morning thread, Newquay. 🥰. So true!

The sun has just come out Sar so perhaps a better day than anticipated.🌝. 🤞.

Dd and little gd coming for lunch after her dancing lesson. We’ll have an afternoon of ‘doings’ . Such a lovely little girl! 👧.
Dh will go to a footie match with ds1.

Tomorrow we intend on going to our cottage by the sea, for a few days. Weather will be 🥶 but … never mind! The cosy house will soon warm up. Neighbour will pop our heating on for us , bless her.

GG - have a lovely time at the Dame du Pic. How swish! 😉.

Georgesgran look after yourself. Take it easy at this difficult time. 💐.

Urms keep busy this weekend and enjoy the children. 🙏.

Marydoll 😂. Wish wee Dolly better. . 🥰.

Take care all and enjoy the day if you can.🌷

BlueBalou Sat 04-Mar-23 09:02:41

Good morning from cold, grey Wiltshire, I suspect that hoping for sunshine today is pointless!
Just back from an hour’s dog walk, really cold wind so my eyes were streaming. DDog enjoyed it, especially having a chase around with one of her hairy friends.
I need to do a few bits in the garden this morning then catch up with housework 🙄
Hope you all have a good weekend x

Good morning.
We are off to Milton Keynes museum with DD3 and family. Lots of interactive things for 7 year old DGS and little one will be happy to tag along.
Kind thoughts for all who need them in any way. Hope Saturday is a good day.

Grandmabatty Sat 04-Mar-23 08:33:10

Thank you Still learning. That's very kind of you and the others who commented so favourably yesterday. Sangela welcome to Mick's lovely thread.
