Good Morning Everyone,
Dark but dry and cold here in brackley this morning.
Todays plans are to stay in and watch cycling on TV with a event featuring both men and women's versions in Italy.
Later i will have my usual Chinese Take Away ,before a quiet evening.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a dark and overcast E Kent.
I had a quiet day yesterday, many mails and phone calls regarding disposal of furniture.
I also sorted out duvets. There are so many, I swear they have multiplied in the cupboards. Ironic considering that DH hated them and we only used sheets and blankets! Must find a home for those too.
I’m off to Canterbury first thing, before the Saturday crowds, to have my iPad seen to. The battery is flat, but I suspect it needs replacing - bummer.
I’m on the home straight with a quilt I’m making using leftover squares from another one.
I hope those with worries and grief cope with today, those with celebrations enjoy them, and everyone else has a good weekend.

Good morning from a dark, overcast south Cornwall. Chinese takeaways for us later too Mick - it's my younger son's 39th birthday and we're gathering at his big brother's house with the grandchildren. Before that, to Wilko to choose bathroom paint (orange I think; I love bright colours) and Tesco for a birthday cake.

Good morning from the South Downs. Still chilly and dull today.

Nothing planned which I quite like. Time to potter and relax. Should be in the garden but too cold. Time enough to catch up when the weather gets warmer.

Aubergine cheese bake for dinner. Diet going to plan so far.

Be chilled out everyone. Hope those waiting for results or appointments are bearing up.

Have a good day one and all.

Good morning from a cloudy and chilly Torbay.

You are doing well with your sorting out of household items, grandMattie. I hope your iPad is easily fixed.

Today, I must make the effort to go to Lidl as supplies are running low. My first solo shop since mid-October! I miss DH at times like this…….. and at other times, of course!

Urmstongran: coincidentally, we're booked to see Birmingham Royal Ballet's production of Swan Lake soon in Plymouth; I’m sure you’ll have enjoyed it.

I hope everyone has a good weekend, whatever is planned. 🦩🥰💐🦩

Good morning from Shropshire.

We had a very relaxing day yesterday as H wanted to stay in his pyjamas all day.I had a long walk in the morning then a quiet afternoon with H asleep on my lap😊

Another early start today as DD1 and I are going to visit my new great niece.A long drive up to the Lancashire/Cheshire border.DD wants to stop at IKEA on the way home😳I will be fit for nothing this evening!

Thinking of Urms and all with concerns and worries.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester. It’s dry but seems chilly out. Himself is still asleep. I’m sat with my first cuppa of the day which is always the best one isn’t it? I feel a bit jittery. I slept well but my dream unsettled me. It feels as though our lives are on hold.

We are minding the Boy Wonder and L’il Miss for a couple of hours this afternoon whilst their parents go to yet another kitchen showroom. Other than that we have no plans.

Have a good Saturday folks. x

Good morning, a cold and bland weather day ahead, no blue sky in the picture

I made a Mary Berry traybake yesterday, delicious too, date and walnut and it had ground almonds in it. Sliced and frozen, away from temptation. I will make that one again and the oven warmed my kitchen

I may well go to Wells today, it is market day and the bus ride is nice.

Good morning everyone from Cambridge where it looks grey and cloudy
Happy birthday to your DS mizuna enjoy your family time together!
We arrived here safely yesterday teatime after just a short flight delay but nothing much. We were met at the station by two gorgeous excited DGSs it’s lovely to see them all again. Yesterday evening we were joined by the other grandparents and we all had a really enjoyable family birthday party for youngest DGS. His main presents were all Ninjago Lego and the Dog Man books which he loves!
Today they’ve both got swimming lessons but I’m not sure what’s planned for the afternoon yet.
Safe travels Susan and everyone else on the move today
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning all from North Leicestershire where it is dull and 2°.

Not a lot scheduled for today. We expect a phone call from the kitchen design company we have chosen. It was, naturally, the first one we tried and not one of the further 4 we consulted.

Hoping everyone has the very best day possible.

Urmstongran Sat 04-Mar-23 07:18:12

Just noticed ... it’s actually the 4th today Mick! 😁

Good morning all from a chilly Glasgow, it's-1°C.

Another restless night has left me totally washed out. No plans today, apart from checking up on wee Dollie, who is unwell again.

On a more positive note, I managed to go out on my own for the first time, since coming out of hospital. It was only a ten minute drive in my car to pick up bread and milk, but my lack of independence has made me quite low, and I was afraid of a flat battery. No vertigo for two days in a row, persuaded me to try.
I was unbelievably anxious, but so relieved at having managed it.

Whilst out, my phone pinged to say someone was at the front door, DH back from golf. I hadn't said I was going to attempt to go out, so I knew he would be worried.
Having a camera doorbell, with a microphone, I decided to speak to him, as he emptied his.car. Never having used the microphone facility, I faffed about, until I caught his attention.
He looked totally bewildered, as I came out with a lot of nonsense, then he twigged.
It was hilarious, when he pretended not to hear the silly affectionate terms (not me at all), I was using and how much I had missed him.
When I got home, I discovered DH's golfing partner and our neighbour, had heard every word from across the road (must be a pretty powerful microphone) and was hysterical with laughter.
I was so embarrassed, blush, but DH admitted that he found it very amusing.

However, I was fit for nothing for the rest of the day and fell asleep, watching my foreign language film Turkish, Dynasty like drama. 😁

Best wishes to all with worries or are poorly.
Enjoy your day, whatever your plans.

Good morning from a dull, chilly Leicestershire.

Not much planned today except a walk this afternoon. Hopefully it will be a little warmer.

Wishing everyone a good day.

Just noticed ... it’s actually the 4th today Mick! 😁

Thanks Urms, for reminding me to with DS2 and DIL, a happy first wedding anniversary.

Good Morning Mick and everyone from London. A dry cloudy day today for us.

Journey here on the train was seamless and our river cruise last night was lovely although only a quarter full. The meal was excellent and the jazz quartet really good.
Today we are booked into the Churchill War Rooms which we have never been to before. We will walk a lot. Tonight we have a meal booked at a restaurant called MBER on Pudding Lane which is only a five minute walk from the hotel. It is a Christmas present from my husbands sister. We tend to buy each other meal experiences and it’s Thai which we love.

Happy Birthday to your DS Mizuna 🎉

Urms 💐

Have a lovely day everyone. Enjoy family, friends and outings.
Thoughts to those struggling with illness and stress. 🌻🌻

Marydoll that’s so funny with your doorbell. I always love your posts you always try to be upbeat despite everything. Love to little Dollie 💐

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I can hear granddaughter in the next room so imagine we’ll be up soon! I think we’re going to Oxford to the museums today to look at dinosaurs. Special chicken (aka Guinea fowl) for dinner tonight. Have a good day.

Gwenisgreat1 Sat 04-Mar-23 07:44:32

Good morning all from chilly Harrogate. A place to get rid of bedding is a homeless refuge? Or put it on Facebook marketplace? GrandMattie you are going to be living in an empty house soon.
Yesterday finally got our TV working on the internet so DGD will be pleased. I also got the printer working but I don’t know how long for - it’s only a year old. Today I am looking after DGS just this afternoon.
Haven’t tried talking through our doorbell yet Marydoll sounds fun though.
Have the best day possible folks

Good morning from Durham. I am unwell with the most horrendous cough - I can’t sleep and coughed so much yesterday that I burst a blood vessel in my eye - doesn’t hurt, but it’s not pretty.
Not a good weekend on the cards. My dear friend died yesterday afternoon, peacefully and at home and today is the 2nd anniversary of DH leaving this World.
Decorator due at 8, so once I get him started, I’ll go upstairs and try to rest. DDs want to meet up later, to ‘mark the day’.
X

GrannyGravy13 Sat 04-Mar-23 07:48:58

Morning all

It looks chilly outside ❄️🌫️

A quick pop into local butchers and Sainsbury’s local first thing, then a couple of hours pottering. We are going into Central London tonight for dinner at a Dame du Pic with DS4 and his wife. Having looked at the menu my mouth is already watering.

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Good morning all from a dull Black country.
Another trip to the charity shop planned and a bit of dust removal.
Friends coming later and we shall meet up with other friends at the club.
It's that time of the week again the full English is calling, will come back to read everyone's happenings later.
Best wishes for anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your Saturday whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Pittcity Sat 04-Mar-23 07:51:52

Good morning from a chilly, grey Colchester.
I have an empty today for the first time in ages.
The kitchen and bathroom floors will get a mop as I can guarantee nobody will walk on them while they're wet!
I'll go into the City centre for a few bits and then put a beef casserole in the oven for DHs return.
I haven't read the thread yet so will just send love and hugs to all 🦩 x

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a dreary but dry South Yorkshire. I slept pretty well last night but this morning I’m sneezing. I managed to change my bed linen by myself yesterday so DD is more or less redundant now. It’s just about the only thing I still needed her help with - trying to wrangle a king size 13 tog quilt into a cover! Still can’t tie my shoe laces though! Did some more on the rug I’m making but it’s tedious. I’m losing my way with it a bit because it’s quite large. I have my mother’s old pegging tool but find I do better with a latch hook. I’ll have another go at it later. Must do some food shopping today and sort out the freezer.
Hope everyone has a happy Saturday and maybe some sunshine somewhere!
