Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and cold outside here in brackley this morning.
Yesterdays Iron infusion went to plan , I now will get regular top ups .
But the downside yesterday with the weather it did not help my breathing, even the nurses who did the infusion told me to walk so far ,and if a seat available sit down for awhile .
My breathing was noticed in the cafe lucky staff know me , but its just settling the heart down ,and I had not eaten for a good 6 hours due to travel etc.
Today, stay in watch TV ,and let the Iron infusion work into my system .
Take Care,
Mick

Here’s Matt.

“The sun has got its hat on, hip hip hip hurray ...”. 🎵 🎶
Good morning everyone from south Manchester where the sunny weather exactly matches my mood!

Himself was given a vitamin B12 injection yesterday - the first of 5 over 10 days. Another one given tomorrow and all appointment times already allocated. How superbly efficient. I do really appreciate our surgery, it’s been great - even through the worst of the pandemic. No dragons behind the reception desk, super friendly nurses and kindly doctors. We are SO lucky.

A blood test was also taken as the Advanced nurse practitioner thinks he may have pernicious anaemia.

Anyway Himself has bought flights for a week on Saturday back to our ‘happy place’. This will be a shorter holiday of 12 days now as we are keeping the coming home date but we are delighted to be able to go!

I assume you’re over in Spain now brook settling in nicely!
And that you are up in BO’ness grandMattie I hope you have a lovely rest, it’s well deserved you have been spinning so many plates these last few months.

Right, Himself has just passed me a mug of tea, grinning from ear to ear. I’m going to read all your posts now, happily without anxiety churning at my insides. In some ways I feel a bit guilty and ‘flaky’ as I do appreciate some in here have had or are having such tough times. Please just understand that I do know how very fortunate I am and I don’t take this blessing for granted on any level.
❤️

Good morning from a snow free but wet Suffolk, unlike Gingster who is further south than us. It will be a wet dog walk for us this morning and probably a short one. Jess doesn’t mind however cold it is but hates rain!

After that it is a day of keeping warm and hunkering down with a cup of hot chocolate and finishing my book ‘ All among the barley’.

Hoping for a positive day for all with warmth and comfort.

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset is grey and drizzly, cold too

Nothing exciting here today. We managed to install and cover our new garden furniture before rain began yesterday. Packaging deposited at the tip and other errands completed in the afternoon can someone tell me why I forgot to collect my package from Boots?

You sound brighter marydoll, good to hear. Pleased you arrived safely granmattie, a long trip for sure. Read elsewhere of positive news for urms. Good advice from marydoll mick, take it easy.

Look after yourselves everyone. Hope Tuesday is kind to us all.

ginny Tue 07-Mar-23 08:23:24

Good Morning.
Fairly quiet today apart from looking after DGS3 g for an hour this morning.
I’ll be in the craft room this afternoon . A bit of sorting and a couple of birthday cards to paint.
Wishing all a good day.

grandMattie Tue 07-Mar-23 08:29:33

Oh, Urms. I’ve just read your post, how absolutely wonderful!!! I’m so happy for you both. 🌷❤️🤗💕🍾🥂✨

GrannySomerset Tue 07-Mar-23 08:32:00

Supermarket trip this morning and visit to a friend this afternoon so that is today accounted for. Very cold and quite grey so not much encouragement to linger outside and can foresee a pretty indoor week.

Good morning from Glasgow. Currently -3 and woke up to signs of a light snowfall, severe frost and now, sunshine melting the frost. Bitter cold outside.

A busy day yesterday attempting to have tradesmen come to give us quotes, working around dates when neither DH or myself have medical appointments. The various departments DH attends also tend to change appointments around, an earlier date, cancellation so a later date. To make life easier I have an appointments board on the kitchen wall. We just have to remember to refer to it! 🤯

Hoping a good day is ahead for all.

harrigran Tue 07-Mar-23 08:41:42

Good morning from the NE where we have a covering of snow but we also have bright sunshine.
Yesterday was a day spent in front of the TV, my back was so painful I was unable to do anything.
I will not be leaving the house today, need to stay warm. I think my skin and blood is getting thinner. Yesterday I had four layers of clothing on and the heating and was still chilled.
Take care all.

Good morning from Shropshire.A cold but sunny day forecast so hopefully the conservatory will warm up nicely.

Yesterday afternoon I read a whole book!Tuesdays with Morrie. It was only 200 pages but I read it in one sitting.Like others I tend to get any chores out the way in the morning and then have a more relaxing afternoon.

Another day at home today.DH has taken the car for its MOT and service this morning then we will both walk into town to collect it later.

Brilliant news Urms🍾🥂💃🏻I am so happy and relieved for you both.

Take care everyone and have the best day you can🦩

Blossoming Tue 07-Mar-23 08:49:25

Good morning everyone, it’s sunny and cold in my corner of Lancashire, currently 0°C. I shall venture out later, I have laundry to do. Mr. B is at the dentist this morning for a checkup. Have a good day all 🦩🦩🦩

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a beautiful sunny Hull.

grandMattie enjoy your break with friends 💐

Urms it’s good to hear you have some answers for your DH and you have a supportive surgery. You’ll be ready for your break in the sun.

Our journey from London was very easy and the couple sitting opposite us going down were sitting with us coming back so we exchanged stories of our weekends. They did some great things including the Anna concert at the 02.
We walked up the 311 steps of the Monument with great views as a reward.
Today we are back to childcare with the Grandson after school and the little ladies this evening.
I am hoping to get Eurovision tickets as they go on sale today but I’m sure the website will crash. I’m keeping fingers crossed.

Have a lovely day everyone. Thoughts to the unwell and worried🌻🌻

ShazzaKanazza Tue 07-Mar-23 08:52:46

Abba concert

GrannyGravy13 Tue 07-Mar-23 09:00:25

Morning all

Definitely nippy here in S E Essex

Wonderful reassuring news dear Urmstongran with the added anticipation of jetting off to your happy place 😘

I need to feed the washing machine today along with filling the fridge and empty spaces in the cupboards. I have been slightly lazy in those jobs the last couple of weeks #lazygran

Will now read the thread properly

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

EkwaNimitee Tue 07-Mar-23 09:15:53

Good morning Mick and everyone from a brilliantly sunny but frosty Carlisle. I prefer it!
Good advice from Marydoll, Mick. I also work on those principles when unwell.
I'm still unwell so I'm still taking it easy and feel the best thing was to have cancelled the holiday. One of my admin jobs today will be to contact the insurance company, after the expected call from the doc.
I've also got a Tesco delivery having managed to rebook next week's delivery. I can't do without my fresh veggies.
Later, I will carry on with the new book I started yesterday, one of my favourite genres, a Scandi noir. I'm also giving thought to having a clear out from the garage. Things I brought from my last residence haven't been used in 2 years so they ought to go but some I would rather sell than give away.

Have the best possible day all.

Annapops Tue 07-Mar-23 09:15:59

Good morning all from a bright and sunny County Durham. Haven't posted on here for a while but thought I would pop back in and say "hello".
Wonderful news from Urms today, I'm so relieved for you both, now enjoy your holiday.
A quiet day ahead with only one GC to collect from school, we normally pick up three.
I'm looking forward to the arrival of some knitting wool today. This time last year I began making knitted santa hats for the family, 17 in all. I've just found a pudding hat pattern so I think I had better get started if they are to be ready for Dec.....slow knitter!
Wishing everyone the best day possible.

BlueSapphire Tue 07-Mar-23 09:16:59

Good morning everyone from a damp and chilly Northampton, 2°outside at the moment with sleet showers forecast this morning.

Did not sleep at all well last night, so will try to take it easy today. Managed to dust and polish all downstairs rooms yesterday, so perhaps I overdid it! Want the house to look clean and tidy before my holiday. Need to do some washing today or tomorrow, but will have to use the tumble drier.

The cats are being collected this afternoon to go to the cattery, so must get their carriers in from the garage, and prepare a bag for them with toys and treats in. They weren't too bad having their treatment yesterday, and seem to have forgiven me.

Waiting for a text/email from M&S to let me.know that my order is in, should be today, so that I can pop down to collect it. Will probably have a free coffee (using my drink vouchers) while I'm down there.

Glad that you have had good news Urm, you sound so happy in your post!
Have a good holiday grandMattie and a good rest.

Have a good day everyone.

MawtheMerrier Tue 07-Mar-23 09:39:16

Good morning all from beneath the duvet
I haven’t been posting here much as I feel so intimidated by all your activities - domestic, garden, exercise, grandparenting etc. it makes me feel totally inadequate.
I am basking in the pleasure of a good nights sleep after yesterdays rude awakening before 6 by what you might call a hot water bottle malfunction. 😢😢 Fortunately since the days of Paw’s catheters, I have a waterproof undersheet/mattress protector but had to strip everything else from the bed, including the dog and as I had taken the bedding off I might as well run it through the machine, hanging the duvet over the bannisters etc etc I suppose it was good that I hadn’t had to do it at 2 am but I must have slept incredibly soundly not to either need to get up or indeed be woken by my wet bed 😱😱
I know many of you get up that early by choice but I was fit for nothing all day and dozed on the sofa for most of the evening.
Might give hotties a miss for a while and revert to the leccy blanket.
Wishing you all as good as a day as you would wish yourselves- good news from Urms - keep warm, keep safe everybody.

Wyllow3 Tue 07-Mar-23 09:43:33

Morning from a currently lovely sunny S. Yorks.

But I’m tired so will enjoy from the inside, only must do is counselling Zoom midday. Yesterday was quite a day - I’d found quite a large lump on my upper arm, but missed the GP “ ring before 10.30” slot

…but fretted too much and took a chance and rung them, and Doc did ring back at 5pm, and said come straight in I’ve a slot before I go out on visits. so I did and got reassuring news not a tumour and an appointment for ultrasound in a month.

… ten stars for the NHS. That GP had been on duty since early in the morning and was setting out on home visits at 5.30pm. Yes Urms they can still come up trumps.

Wise decision Mick

I hope its a real break,* G Mattie* you deserve it.

Do go for the Abba concert, Shazza what a blast from the past.

I’m impressed with yesterdays household efforts!

Take it easy poorlies, and DGC care go well, and outings enjoyed.

Stilllearning Tue 07-Mar-23 09:59:18

Late good morning from Giffnock where it very cold but lovely blue sky.

Woke with a warm little body beside me which was a treat especially as I won’t see these two next week as I am off to Oban on Thursday childminding for DD3, she and son in law are having a skiing trip so I have the chance to be with her two which is a joy. Still hoping that there is an outside chance I’ll make the Glasgow meet up on Tuesday, depends on roads and travel conditions.

Waverley Station is really bewildering grandMattie, well done for negotiating it.

Thinking about you baubles as you have your check.

I can feel your relief Urms, something that can be managed, good news indeed.

Wishing everyone a pleasant day🦩

ShazzaKanazza Tue 07-Mar-23 10:28:56

Hi Whyllow yes we are going to make a plan to go to the ABBA concert and DH fancies the ABBA party at the O2 as well. I’m pleased you called the Dr and had reassuring news.

My DH has just gone in the surgery as he has been aching all over for weeks and can’t shake a cold but he excersises a lot and at the moment is decorating so hopefully it’s muscular but my DH always thinks he has something serious. He rang this morning and 2 hours later he’s in which I think is great really.

hollysteers Tue 07-Mar-23 10:58:44

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
My day in charge ‘on the desk’ at music club this afternoon as well as singing and need a warble before I go.

I need to go to bed earlier as this blinking IPad has so much of interest in it, it makes me stay awake till all hours at night. Not my fault at all!
Hope your infusion helps Mick, good news Urms and thoughts to anyone with worries.

madeleine45 Tue 07-Mar-23 15:13:24
