Spot on Sparklefizz:.
They stink of hypocrisy.

I'm fairly sure a disant relative who lived on the West coast of America used to talk about friends who were Princes ,and Countesses from European countries who settled in the states around WW11 or maybe before when their coun tries gave up their monarchy ...like Philip did here .Kept being a Prince when his family were deposed .
I think these folk gather wee cliques of people who think titles make them important

Maybe, but not as high as Kim Kardashian’s son, who is Saint!

Love this! grin

Just some overprivileged people keeping the media interested so they increase their income. Ignore.

Are these children born naturally from Ms Markle's own body? Is Harry the actual father? Proof is required or they are neither royal princes nor are they in the line of succession. I feel lied to and deceived potentially. From a monarchist who would die to defend the crown to walking away from any interest at all unless the truth is shown. Their choice

Is it normal practice for DNA proof to be provided before the title of Prince or Princess can be used? That’s a new one on me 🤔

Calendargirl Thu 09-Mar-23 11:06:03

‘Prince Archie of Sussex’.

‘Princess Lilibet of Sussex’.

Sounds daft, doesn’t it, when they live in California?

‘Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet of Montecito
would be more appropriate.

I bet William is livid they have the dubious right to use these titles after all they have said and done.

Well normally birth certificates are produced, doctors are named and verify facts, moon bumps don't get photographed falling to the pregnant mothers knees, not do they vary in size and shape day to day. Not are their parents proven known liars.

Yes, there was the pop star, of course, Prince Roger's Nelson! He just used his title. 😁

Callistemon21 Thu 09-Mar-23 11:22:49

Wandering apostrophe, thanks autocorrect.

foxie48 Thu 09-Mar-23 11:25:24

If they were going to use the titles of prince and princess it's a pity they went for "pet" names rather than the proper one. It makes them sound like characters in a Disney film. Oh, perhaps they will be!!

AJgranma Thu 09-Mar-23 11:25:32

It’s all a nonsense anyway, isn’t it? Harry’s children have the same ‘rights’ to titles as William’s children presumably, unless they or their parents decide to discard them. Cannot understand why people seem to think William & his children somehow more ‘worthy’. They’re all just ridiculously privileged people tangled up in an archaic system. Some of them ‘perform’ as they’re expected to & some don’t? GB La La Land.

I thought the whole point was that Harry wanted out of the system though, hence his TV interviews, book, standing on his own feet, leaving the UK etc. I have never condemned his actions, I’m not a royalist, but this move is one I don’t understand at all.

BlueBalou Thu 09-Mar-23 11:32:51

karmalady

wont be long before those little ones are rolled out as cash cows

My first thought too.
I really feel sorry for the children, growing up with two attention-seeking avaricious parents and a father who’s publicly ripped his family apart.
They really don’t stand any chance of a normal upbringing imo.

Callistemon21 Thu 09-Mar-23 11:34:24

Yes, I thought that was the whole idea of Harry and Meghan opting out, avoiding unwanted publicity.

Perhaps they should have left this as an option for Archie and Lilibet until they can decide for themselves at 18.

If we still have a monarchy, of course, although ex-monarchs and their families seem to still use their titles eg Princess Elizabeth of Yugoslavia.

Vintagenonna Thu 09-Mar-23 11:34:47

I aways wondered why/how the late monarch had acquired a West Indian nickname : "little bit" or 'li'l bit'.

It suited her so why not pass it on?

Good grief!

I don't think the personal and intimate medical details of conception and birth are generally given out to the public, but you could try the Royal Household...

I'm sure they'd be devastated if you 'walked away' - but at least you've given them the choice hmm.

GrammyGrammy Thu 09-Mar-23 11:50:14

When the parents are liar and narcissists the public is not going to just accept what is said as true. How to lose support for the monarchy- carry on as they are.

Urmstongran Thu 09-Mar-23 11:54:30

I agree with you foxie ‘Princess Lillibet’ sounds daft.

Germanshepherdsmum Thu 09-Mar-23 11:56:31

Pure LaLa Land.

eazybee Thu 09-Mar-23 12:00:03

Lilibet could have been Lady Lilibet as her father is a duke, but that sounds even more daft.

NotTooOld Thu 09-Mar-23 12:03:24

If I lived in Sussex I'd be demanding my money back.

Grandma70s Thu 09-Mar-23 12:06:17

Prince Archie sounds absurd, too. Is he in a pantomime? Poor kids.

Jaberwok Thu 09-Mar-23 12:10:37

Lilibet,as most of us know, was the name the Queen gave herself when a small child as she couldn't pronounce Elizabeth. Her close family adopted the name and continued to use it for her life, H&M allegedly asked the Queen permission to use her name for their daughter, which she, agreed thinking they meant Elizabeth, but of course they didn't. How the Queen felt about her private nickname being used? Who knows! I guess they are now titled in order to be merchandised as their parents obviously dislike the RF but don't mind using it's for financial advantage as they have no other way of making money. Unfortunately the poor King when asked, could not refuse, so it is what it is and people are outraged with the king for allowing it but can't understand that he had no choice. At least they are not HRH! My opinion of H&M is unprintable.

I do live in Sussex, just! I'm wondering when the esteemed pair might visit us plebs given their title. After all, thd US had their very own "Prince" . The much lamented late singer songwriter formerly known as Prince something to do with copyright. A Price of many talents, then there is Prince Harry of the numerous -moany- insightful interviews and the best seller Spare, latterly known as WAAGH!

TerriBull Thu 09-Mar-23 12:19:56

Prince not Price
