A brilliant photo, Susan56, of a snowman with snowboy! Thank you for sharing. ⛄️❄️☃️

Good Morning BlueBalou and everyone from Hull. A dull dry day is forecast.

I went to my uncle yesterday the snow started melting well by 11-30 am and the roads were all clear. When DH drove to the gym at nine when it was at its worst he encountered 2 accidents.
My uncle said to me he could see me clearly after now having both cattaracts done. DH said did you ask him if it was a good or a bad thing.

Today we are having a little tea party at DDs with the other grandparents for little Bs birthday the other day. GD1 said to me ‘Grandma have you ever met my Granny and Grandpa’ ‘yes darling’ i said ‘I’ve known them over 20 years’ .
They are super people.

Susan what a brilliant snowman and little H is such a cutie.

Have a lovely Saturday everyone and thinking of those with stress and illness🌻🌻

GrannySomerset Sat 11-Mar-23 08:12:54

Grey and still and absolutely no sign of snow which is a blessing. Nothing planned so will wait to see how the day unfolds but there is always domestic admin if I get really bored. Hope Mick enjoys lovely Harrogate and that everyone else has a satisfactory day.

Grammaretto Sat 11-Mar-23 08:13:04

Good morning Blue and thanks for starting the thread. I was getting anxious about Mick.
It is minus 3° here in the Scottish Borders.
A cake in the oven and I am about to pick salvage some daffodils for the café tables.
I'm on duty later on.
More baking this afternoon and food shopping.
Tomorrow it's DMiL birthday. We, my DC and DGC, are going to drop in for tea and cake through the day. She'll be 98 and having moved at Christmas time into her DS flat, she has been declining.
sad

Good morning from a cold but dry NE where it is -2.
Lunch with friend was good yesterday, her DH dropped us off at the restaurant and collected us later.
Sister and BIL visiting this afternoon and DS and family will come and stay for the rest of the day.
SIL travelled back to Brussels yesterday after two years in the UK, it is now a year since his emergency operation.
Have a good weekend.

Here’s Matt.

Thank you for opening up BlueBalou good job no-one’s relying on me you’d all be queuing at the door.

Good morning everyone from sunny south Manchester. No frost and Alexa tells me it will reach the dizzying heights of 5°C later. Yay!

I fancy a nice breakfast. I think I’ll ask himself to fetch a crusty loaf and a bag of Scottish kiln smoked kippers from our downstairs larder in an hour or so. We have a good system. I write the list.

Builders are starting at our youngest daughter’s soon. Knocking down walls so 3 rooms at the back will become on huge ‘family room’. New Shaker kitchen in blue has been chosen. Not having an island any more. I’m going over this afternoon to help her empty all her many kitchen cupboards. 😱 She says she intends to be ruthless. I can believe her, she has form that woman. A huge skip is being delivered and it’ll be full in no time ha! L’il Miss will want to get involved. Perhaps she could go through the huge number of unread cookery books?
🤣

Good morning from Sefton where it's cold & dry. I'm glad to say the snow has disappeared.
A visit to the farm shop & the supermarket this morning. No plans for the rest of the day.
Have a good weekend all.

MawtheMerrier Sat 11-Mar-23 08:26:53

Good morning from sunny but freezing N Bucks.
Eldest D is 48 today which has prompted much nostalgia on my part, many happy memories and quite a few tears . Happy years - where did they go?
Looking forward to seeing the whole family later for a combined birthday “bash” - SIL1, 51 yesterday, D1 today, me, 75 on Monday and youngest D’s older boy , 4 on Friday. That could be an awful lot of candles, hope they’ve disconnected their smoke alarm.
I spent yesterday afternoon making a contribution of Guinness chocolate brownies with white chocolate icing which must be about 500 calories apiece- lethal.
So relieved the snow seems to have abated and wish all of you out and about safe travels and where appropriate, happy landings.

dragonfly46 Sat 11-Mar-23 08:29:38

Hope you have a wonderful weekend Maw.

Jaxjacky Sat 11-Mar-23 08:30:58

Morning from S Hants where we’ve just had a snow flurry!
Thanks for opening Blue.
Love the snowman Susan that’s proper!
Long day yesterday, daughter to hospital at 7:10 for her hand op, school run, picked daughter up at 12, school run again and dropped them all home. She is signed off for 6 weeks and not happy, but resigned.
A quiet weekend as we’re off to Cheltenham next week, staying in Bristol for three days, meeting up with most of MrJ’s family.
Enjoy your day 🦩🦩

Grandmabatty Sat 11-Mar-23 08:34:29

Food shop this morning.
This afternoon we will go to MIL with DD3 and family. Then out for an early meal.
Lots of celebrating and outings going on.Hope they all go well.
Blue would love to see the artwork from your weekend. I’m off to Cornwall at the end of April on an Art and wellbeing retreat.
Hope you all find a little sunshine in your day.

Annapops Sat 11-Mar-23 09:00:24

Good morning from a very grey County Durham. The garden remains covered with a white blanket although paths are all clear.
A quiet day today to catch up with some dusting and cleaning. The house has been neglected this week as I've been preoccupied with other bits and bobs.
Later we may take a walk out to one of our local haunts and stop off at their newly opened cafe. The place is one I've mentioned before which was once a Catholic seminary. There's always so much going on there, groups, performances, films, festivals, classes. DGS3 attends a theatre group there once a week which has proven to increase his confidence enormously. If you ever visit Durham you must add Ushaw to your list. You won't be disappointed.
Such a lovely photo of your GS Susan. He looks so happy.
Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning all , from a cold dull Co Armagh, there is snow still lingering in patches , my MILwould have said it was waiting for more !
Busy day yesterday , Audiologist couldn’t test my hearing , seems I have an ear infection, it was a bit achy
Got home and the sun had warmed up the room , so nice ! It was bitter cold out
Room chilly this morning, no hot water , boiler silent ! SIL pressed a few buttons, boiler sprang to life Whew !!
Just hope it doesn’t go off again , we have underfloor heating so it takes a wee while to warm up
I hope Mick has a lovely visit to Harrogate
Good luck with the driving Marydoll you are very brave

Greyduster Sat 11-Mar-23 09:03:31

Good morning all GNs, and Michael in absentia. I hope that Yorkshire is doing you proud Mick, and that it’s not too cold for you up there in Harrogate. After yesterday’s heavy snow we have a bit of a thaw going on in South Yorkshire, but not fast enough for me!
I am full of aches and pains this morning, probably because I spent yesterday indoors mostly sitting. I couldn’t get out because of the snow and probably won’t be able to today either. My neighbours are being brilliant. I have been ordered not to even try going out (I might have to dig a tunnel!). They did some shopping for me. At least I made some progress with the wretched rug. I may make a cake for them today, as a thankyou.
Glad you and Mr C had a happy day out, Corner.
Susan cracking snowman (well done H😊!).
Hope Saturday is kind to one and all.

Alygran Sat 11-Mar-23 09:19:32

Good morning from North Yorkshire. The snow has almost gone, the road is clear and dry. More sunshine so far this morning.
I have some admin to do today then I’ll get on with my knitting.
Love the snowman.
Have a good day everyone.

Wyllow3 Sat 11-Mar-23 09:21:42

From the same part of the world as Greyduster...and where Georgesgran had to avoid yesterday...back garden still under a huge white duvet..

Actually wondering how much snow Mick is getting in Harrogate to get around in, but its quite a bit further north.

Its still between 7 to 10 inches of snow everywhere including in my driveway but I shall have to dig the car out as a third day without seeing anyone am missing the gym! We had a power cut yesterday too.

Super snowman Susan. it does rather look as if...a little help was on hand there grin

Take care poorlies and enjoy family meet ups, all.

Ziplok Sat 11-Mar-23 09:22:54

Good morning,
So pleased to see that the snow has melted away apart from a few patches where the sun didn’t get at it. It’s very cold today, after a keen frost last night, but it’s starting to cloud up a bit now and rain forecast for this afternoon. If I venture out, I’ll need to wrap up, but I’ve no real plans to go anywhere.
Hope your aches and pains begin to ease greyduster. You’re probably right that in part it could be due to more sitting, but you couldn’t risk going anywhere and having a fall.
Enjoy your break in Harrogate Mick. I hope it isn’t too cold for you.
Take care folks, whatever you’re going to be up to today.

hollysteers Sat 11-Mar-23 09:54:39

Good morning BlueBalou (hope you enjoy your painting weekend) and all from cold Sunnyside northwest coast.
DS came yesterday on his motorbike 😨to fix up digi box for tv and other various things. He rustled up a nice curry and it’s nice to be cooked for for a change. As usual we watched a bit of Gogglebox for a laugh.
He’s carrying on with some jobs today and off for a drink with a neighbour this evening. It’s nice to have someone in the house apart from the cat for a change.
Thoughts to anyone with worries.

baubles Sat 11-Mar-23 10:00:12

A late good morning from chilly South Lanarkshire. The sky is looking rather heavy, I’m hoping it’s rain and not snow.

I will catch up with all the news later. DH has gone to collect DS and children from a not at all local train station as they’ve decided to visit us while DDoutL is attending a conference in Glasgow.

My eldest GC became a teenager today but as she’s spending the day with two of her friends we saw her last night instead. She’s a lovely, kind, thoughtful girl and I’m hoping that she wont have too tricky a time with teenage hormones.

Wishing everyone the best day possible, good wishes especially to those under par for whatever reason.

NannyJan53 Sat 11-Mar-23 10:01:10

Good morning from a very cold Black Country. The snow had all gone by midday yesterday, but woke up to a heavy frost this morning.

No real plans today except I am going to make a chicken curry for tonight and the freezer.

Annapops Durham is somewhere I have on my list of places to visit. Especially after reading Bill Bryson, where he said " dear reader you must visit Durham, take my car"!

Safe travels to anyone out and about this weekend.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 11-Mar-23 10:14:19

Sar53 I will wave to you later as I drive past the rugby club, we are having our spa day at the hotel along from there 👋
