Grandmabatty, Snap! I met up with my childhood friend today, we had lunch and exchanged grandchildrens Easter eggs. It's good to catch up with friends.

Nannytopsy, we have no sunshine here today, dull and rainy. I hope you had sunshine for cutting your lawn.

Brook, it sounds like you had a great family night! I love board games. We used to play Trivial Pursuit in our staff room, until a new HT put a stop to it...

Blossoming, I'm glad your feeling brighter and getting some things done. There is satisfaction to be found in completing a job well.

Lovely photo, LLL, it reminds me of the first lock bridge we saw, in Sirmione, many years ago.

I hope the Soops are having a wonderful family get together, and Soop's wheels are behaving themselves!

Good news, Jaxjacky and Grandmabatty, my brother and sister in law have just been reunited with their dear dog, they are driving home now. 🐕

Hello dear Kitcheners. It has rained softly but persistently all day, so the cleaned up and re-organised pond is filling up nicely. Our resident blackbird was a bit miffed as we’d moved his favourite bathing stone, but he’s happy noe he’s discovered the little waterfall. I’m taking it easier today, just pottering. I am planning on attacking an awkward cupboard tomorrow!

So glad dog and owners are reunited Grannmarie.

Have a lovely evening all.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 05-Apr-23 17:24:06

Evening kitcheners, I am shattered have been to a large shopping mall with DD and her boys, they are growing like weeds and needed new spring/summer clothes and shoes. We stopped for lunch and a well needed rest.

DH is out this evening so I haven’t got to cook, might have the energy to poor a glass of wine though 🤣🍷

I hope the soops are enjoying their family time 🙋‍♀️

Grannmarie Wed 05-Apr-23 18:42:44

Thank you, Blossoming.

Grandmabatty Wed 05-Apr-23 19:29:11

I am really chuffed that the dog and your brother are reunited. Grannmarie Grannygravy enjoy your wine. Blossoming don't overdo it! A quiet night for me. I'm warm and cosy and watching Portrait Artist on Sky Arts.

Grannmarie Wed 05-Apr-23 22:04:36

Thank you, Grandmabatty, they've finally arrived at their new home. What a relief! We'll see them soon.

Grannygravy, enjoy your wine, you have earned it after your 'MallDay'. Cheers 🥂

I've binge watched Six four, a Scottish crime/ political drama on ITVx, lots of 'kent faces', and familiar locations. It was a GN recommendation. A good way to get through a mountain of ironing ! Time to put my feet up now.

Glad the dog and family are together, bet they were happy!
Wet outside, good, I put some concentrated fertiliser on the garden yesterday, a bit pongy, it’ll get washed in now.
Library today and farm shop, mammogram tomorrow, not my favourite!
Sleep well all.

Grannmarie Wed 05-Apr-23 23:57:12

Thank you, Jaxjacky, they certainly are!
Good luck for your mammogram, remember to take two paracetamol before you go, just like before a dental appointment.

brook2704 Thu 06-Apr-23 08:05:49

Just popping into the kitchen early this morning as I’ve another busy day ahead
I hope Mr and Mrs Soop are having a lovely family get together in Glasgow and alls well
Hope your mammogram goes ok today Jax
The shopping trip sounds good GG13 they grow so quickly don’t they!
Our visitors here are having a good time, lots of fun and laughter and catching up on news. All my cooking so far seems to have been well received and nothing left, I always think I’ve done too much but it all goes! More of the same today, they go home tomorrow and a different set of visitors are arriving on Sunday.
Good news about the dog grannmarie 😀

Grandmabatty Thu 06-Apr-23 10:37:41

Jaxjacky ouch. I hope you've been and had it done already. Brook you are very busy but such a lovely family time for you. This morning I've been to town, picked up a ring from the jewellers, bought outfits for the boys for Easter, got my windscreen wipers replaced and bought new oil pastels to try from Hobbycraft. A cup of tea and then redd out the kitchen which means a good clean if you aren't familiar with the term. Have a good day all

knspol Thu 06-Apr-23 11:58:02

Feeling the need for some warm friendly company this morning so hello to all.

Grannmarie Thu 06-Apr-23 12:41:34

Hello 👋 knspol, welcome to Soop's friendly kitchen.

Thank you, Brook. Sounds like you are giving your visitors a lovely time, enjoy the company.

Grandmabatty, what a busy morning, you've got lots done. I'm continuing with my spring cleaning, washing bedding and curtains while it's dry and sunny.

I had to park in the street when I went to church this morning, our car park and hall are being used by the BBC who are filming locally. It was busy with big trucks, vans, security staff and lots of to ing and fro ing... I've heard that the new series of Vigil is being filmed, not sure why they've chosen our area, no submarines nearby 🤣 but word on the street is that they are using a flat in a nearby tower block.

I'll hang out the rest of the washing now, then do a wee bit more tidying and planting in the garden.

Have a good day, TOYA. Hoping that the Soops are having a great time with family in Glasgow.

Blossoming Thu 06-Apr-23 12:41:49

Hope the mammogram went OK Jax, horrible things! Hello there knspol, how are you doing? It’s a pleasant day here, I’m watching the birds from my window.

Blossoming Thu 06-Apr-23 12:43:33

Grannmarie I’m still spring cleaning too, just having a coffee break.

Jaxjacky Thu 06-Apr-23 12:48:24

Not until 4 Blossoming, we’ve done tedious housework, not spring cleaning, between us. Sun/cloud here, bit of wind, warmer out than in, we won’t get sun on the l room until later.

soop Thu 06-Apr-23 13:02:01

Hello to my favourite Granspals.

I need to play catch up this afternoon.

The time spent with family in Glasgow was PERFECT! There were tears when we met. Tears when we parted. In between there was laughter and we have returned home with a store of happy memories. The boys were tremendous fun and a joy to be with.

We were treated to a meal at The Ivy restaurant. I shall have photos, taken by family, to share with you at the weekend. Our camera packed up. A buggeration to put it mildly. We visited the Kelvingrove museum. The stroller was a godsend. The boys were also treated to an hour in a gaming arcade. We adults had afternoon tea. Other than that one hour, the boys interacted with us. They have a strict limit on their mobile phone use. Both had many amusing stories to share with us.

A major buggeration was of my own doing. It was not until we boarded the coach to Glasgow, that I discovered both my hearing aids were in my dressing gown pocket back in the house. Yikes! I admitted my stupidity as soon as we all met. Everyone made allowances. Bless!

SueDonim Thu 06-Apr-23 13:57:40

I haven’t been into the Kitchen for days, though I’ve been listening at the door. smile

Soop I’m glad you had such an enjoyable time.

Hello, Knspol. 👋

You’re a human whirlwind, Grandmabatty! grin

Jaxjacky hope the mammogram goes ok. Some operators are more skilled than others is my experience. flowers

I’ve been busy with trying to get plans sorted for the garden - the ‘patio’ (aka a few paving slabs) to be extended and some raised beds installed. I’ve managed to acquire the slabs for free, from someone who is replacing theirs! That’ll be £300+ that’s stays in my bank account.

We’ve also got a new tv and tv stand - it took us two evenings to build that. 😳 We still don’t have any tv programmes, though. Dd is going to try and sort it out for us over the weekend.

Ds had more bad reactions to his latest treatment. His specialist is now rethinking the path to take, which may involve stopping now or using a different drug. I find that I am very distracted in the week ds has treatment, can’t settle to things. At least ds is feeling brighter now and went to the movies with the GC.

Today I’ve got my book group then I’m off to the theatre this evening. Dd1 forgot to tell me she had bought me a ticket until last night! 😂

No particular plans for Easter but dd and the GC will be over on Sunday.

brook2704 Thu 06-Apr-23 15:06:51

Lovely to see you SueD and a very warm welcome to knspol too
Sorry to hear your DS is struggling with his treatment again, SueD, it’s completely understandable that you’re distracted when he’s having his treatment, I’m sure most mums would be exactly the same. I hope his specialist can come up with other options that suit him a bit better
Sounds like you had such a lovely time with your family soop and were very well looked after.
I’m just having a 10 minute breather before a busy evening again tonight as DD2, SiL and the DGC are coming round later too. Various pizzas for the children and curries for the adults, all from M&S food hall so nice and easy 👍

soop Thu 06-Apr-23 16:42:08

A warm welcome to knspol

I have not yet read through all your messages. Must do better tomorrow.

Catching up with laundry, replying to emails, ordering gifts online for coming birthdays and more besides.

Some photos have also been posted of our family reunion. I shall share a few with you. I shall also return tomorrow and give you my fullest attention. smile moon

Blossoming Thu 06-Apr-23 16:57:28

Lovely happy family pics Soop, thank you for sharing them with us.

Jaxjacky Thu 06-Apr-23 18:34:48

Welcome to knspol 👋👋.
How disappointing SueD let’s hope he gets sorted, perfectly understandable your mind is elsewhere.
Pleased you had a smashing family visit soop.
The mammogram lady was excellent, I’ve certainly had worse, job done. Called into M&S food hall, no cheese hot cross buns, run out! Not good enough!
Enjoy your evening all.

cornergran Thu 06-Apr-23 18:36:51

Welcome home soop. Delighted you’ve had such a good time. Not that there was any doubt. Thank you for sharing the happy photos.

Hope things look up for your son sued. I’d be unsettled in your situation, too.

Reading about all you busy folk is leaving me feeling very lazy indeed. It’s very quiet here

Take care everyone. Enjoy Easter as you can.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 06-Apr-23 18:57:30

Lovely happy family photos soop

brook2704 Thu 06-Apr-23 21:57:43

Such beautiful photos soop you do look so lovely! Precious memories made together
I’ve just come to bed and left the younger ones to it - we’ve had a lovely evening but I need some rest and a wind down now… the children all got on so well, I think 8 year old DGD even has a wee crush on her older cousin!

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 07-Apr-23 06:17:24

What beautiful photos Soop!
