Crikey Blue! Don’t try and bring one of those home on a string will you?😁. Wonderful photos!
Birthday wishes to all celebrating today🎂🎁.

Good morning all from a breezy, dry, so far, Glasgow.

GD2 decided to stay overnight after dinner last night, now having a late breakfast of croissants and pain au chocolat prepared by her darling Grampa. Thick as thieves those two. 🥰. I await to hear what she has planned for me.

Nothing worse than persistant pain Baubles. I hope stronger pain relief helps to make you more comfortable.
Lovely to see you back and well Grandmabatty
Also, how nice to see you here this morning TopsyIrene Hope you are well.
Amazing photos BlueSapphire, what a wonderful experience to see those animals in such a beautiful setting. I am so envious.

Hoping today is a good day for all.

Wyllow3 Sat 18-Mar-23 11:14:47

Oh Blue I so want to be there. I play music from SA so often and have an enduring interest dating back to the anti-apartheid days.
I thought i was going got be able to go, but life has disrupted. Ex's brother lived there, in Capetown, and we had had an open invitation for a long time.

But he is my "Ex" because of coercive abuse not just against me but his elderly mother, and ex BiL has had to cope with much on that front and that can't be mended, as I hadn't seen him enough to build up an independent relationship.

Good morning everyone from a hot and sunny South Africa!
We are now at our game reserve, had one game drive yesterday evening, and another at 6sm this morning
Saw many animals, elephant, rhino, giraffe and zebra just some of them. No lions yet, but hopefully this evening or tomorrow morning.
Have a pleasant Saturday all, not had time to read the thread yet.
One of the pictures is our handsome ranger with the bar open for a sundowner after the game drive!

Enjoying a late breakfast of tea and toast, thickly spread with very local honey - the hives and beekeeper live next door but two. It is utterly delicious and a real treat.

Nothing planned today though I have plenty of necessary reading and sorting awaiting the urge. I need some of gMattie’s determination coupled with Urmston’s self discipline to enable me to achieve results like theirs.

Blossoming Sat 18-Mar-23 09:40:31

Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire, currently 10°C. I have an appointment at the salon this morning, will read the thread later when I get home.

Gwenisgreat1 Sat 18-Mar-23 09:39:32

Good morning all from dry Harrogate
This is a quickie, cause I have a bus to catch. I’m going to an art workshop in Ripley - a lovely village close by. I’ll probably read your posts on the bus!
Have the best day possible folks

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Quiet day yesterday after tiring myself out through the week gadding about. Nice FaceTime with DSister in the south, always a v long chat and phone call with housebound musical director, my partner in crime for many years.
Did an online shop for the first time since covid, as the cold weather and fatigue made me think why not?
My DS has prepared a canvas for me for a painting for his gf, but don’t feel like it at the moment. Tiredness aside, many plans afoot for various holidays, I would like a boost of energy for them…
Happy birthday hulahoop, so sorry you have such a lot on your plate GM a further excuse for me not to downsize and thoughts to Gingster

ginny Sat 18-Mar-23 09:07:21

A late post today from a dull N. Bucks
Happy birthday hulahoop. It is my eldest DDs birthday today. She is away on holiday at the moment so celebrating with her is on hold.
Just a local food shop today and then project prep for two clubs.
Hope Saturday is kind to all , especially those with worries or illness.

luluaugust Sat 18-Mar-23 09:05:25

Good morning from a damp W Kent. Busy day ahead of preparation for the family coming to lunch tomorrow, it now takes me all day to sort it out. Lovely chat to GD yesterday, she is struggling through GCSE mocks and looking for a College place, it took men back 60 years!
Safe journey Urms
gM I am sorry you had to deal with such a nasty person.
Hope the car gets sorted out soon Ash
All the best

kittylester Sat 18-Mar-23 08:50:23

Good morning all from a cloudy North Leicestershire we don't even have dragonfly's bits of sunshine.

I am late posting but have been up since 5am. I had a bad night anyway but DD3's lot arrived at 7.30 so I am worn out already!!

We are all now awaiting the arrival of DD2 and her gang.

Wish us luck.

Georgesgran Sat 18-Mar-23 08:35:33

Good morning from damp Durham. What a strange day yesterday - the temperature rose, then later an absolute deluge with localized flooding, as Harri posted.
I can definitely recommend The Potted Lobster in Bamburgh, but expensive!
Estimate to put in 10 new fence posts is £850 - unsure if that’s a bargain or not. Needs doing.
Ash it was the second failure of my air suspension pump ‘wot did it’ for changing my car - a design fault apparently, so I hope your’s isn’t similar and more easily remedied.
Best wishes to all. X

Wyllow3 Sat 18-Mar-23 08:34:54

Good Morning from S Yorks.

Yesterday was too busy with appointments and shopping so today will be a dressing gown day I think. Unless the sun really comes out (unlikely) and i go out for a drive I’m so close to lovely countryside.

Still don’t know about my lump on my arm - delay on ultrasound report back to GP - I think it will be a removal as its 7 cms and NHS guidelines say removal over 5 cms. I did spend some time arranging a nice summer meet up with me and 2 remaining sibs in Devon which will be lovely in July.

My heart goes out to you grandMattie

Take care all poorlies and may outings and family meet ups go well.

Liberty Sat 18-Mar-23 08:31:43

Good morning from another damp Suffolk day with the occasional hint of sun.

I hope those with worries find they ease. I can’t remember all names but send kind wishes to all. Gingster,I hope your DD was comforted by being cared for by you yesterday.

We are going to a concert this evening in a church in a local town with a pianist and a mezzo soprano. Like most churches around here it is always cold so we will go well wrapped up and with cushions to sit on.

Enjoy your day whatever you do.

monk08 Sat 18-Mar-23 08:27:45

Good morning all from a wet Black country.
Sorry your car not well Ash let's hope it's an easy fix.
Mizuna I had a chuckle reading about your vicar.
Urms safe travels to your happy place.
Right it's that time of the week again full English calling, will catch up with everybody's happenings later.
Best wishes for anyone celebrating and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your Saturday whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Gala Sat 18-Mar-23 08:26:25

Good morning from a damp underfoot Sefton. There is a tiny hint of blue sky🤞.
No plans for the day as such but will do some more garden tidying if the weather allows.
Off to a fundraiser for our local musical theatre group this evening 🎼Curryoke🎤 . Should be an interesting evening.😆
Take care all.

Grandmabatty Sat 18-Mar-23 08:22:47
