I should feel good about it but....

I have lost loads of weight - hooray.

But, I now have nothing to wear in the summer.

What should you feel pleased about but are, actually, finding it not such a blessing?

My DD and DGS will hopefully be moving out and getting their own house this summer. Yay! I'll get my house back. It'll be clean and tidy. I'll have an office to work from.

But I'll miss DGS's happy little face in the morning and I'll miss seeing him daily.

My lovely little DGS was seen by the GP this morning regarding a lump on his neck - GP says it’s probably swollen lymph nodes due to a recent infection but ….he is being referred to see a Consultant for further evaluation.

Can you not just wear some of your old clothes loose, kitty? 💐

kittylester Mon 27-Mar-23 12:03:46

They are very, very loose baggs. My trousers would fall down! Not a pretty sight. grin

😂 Aww, kitty

I guess at least summer clothes are usually cheaper than winter ones - so it might not break the bank to get a few T shirts and cotton trousers, say, from Next or M and S’s basics ranges?

My diabetes is finally very well controlled. But, I can no longer eat any of the foods I like.

I hope all goes well with your little DGS, try not to worry

I feel the benefits of your weight loss will well outweigh the outlay in clothes, KL and well done you! Enjoy the new purchases as best you can. All in a very good cause. Again I say Bravo! 👍

kittylester Mon 27-Mar-23 17:14:23

I didn't do it on purpose Kim.

Same as you, one daughter three grandchildren happily moved out, only to the next village, so not far.
Clean tidy house, no awful television blaring out, no piles of washing everywhere.
I knew I would miss them, things like curling up and watching Love Island with the oldest, criticising everyone, but gradually being drawn in, my football mad grandson, not much I don’t know about Manchester United, and the four year old Princess of the family, who we all completely indulge.
Yes, I’m happy they’re gone, but I do miss them.

My DD has a boyfriend (the first since DGS was born), so I'm hoping that will translate in her having him over to stay at her house which will mean DGS will need to come to my house while she's entertaining her man.

Could be a win-win for everyone.

Same here, and he’s lovely, first time I’ve really stopped worrying about them.

Clothes -

charity shops of course. Keep the old ones as your wright can go up and down especially of medical factors involved.

weight

M0nica Mon 27-Mar-23 21:13:07

When I lost 2 stone, buying a whole lot of new clothes was part of the reward for the weight loss.

kittylester Tue 28-Mar-23 08:53:05

I am finding it stressful, MOnica. My weight loss was unexpected and fairly sudden.

fancythat Tue 28-Mar-23 08:57:22

Since no one else has said anything, and I dont really know who is who on here yet, do you need to see a GP? Because of sudden weight loss?

M0nica Tue 28-Mar-23 09:03:19

kittylester That is worrying. I hope you have seen your GP.

kittylester Tue 28-Mar-23 09:28:57

Thank you both for your concern. I lost 3 stones in hospital and while bedbound afterwards. No need to see a gp again. And the 3 stones were definitely better gone.

Maria59 Tue 28-Mar-23 10:07:29

kittylester do you know someone handy handy with a sewing machine? When I had a similar loss I altered a lot of my clothes leaving enough seam so they could be let out if needed (didn't need to)

Sarah75 Tue 28-Mar-23 10:16:30

3 stones! Wow, that’s a few dress sizes! Enjoy putting together a new wardrobe! Hope you’re fully recovered

Charity shops have lots of good clothes. Try them
